Cedar cabin with a sunny porch overlooking the lake. Wooden fishing dock to swim from and bask in the sun. View across the lake is of Breakneck Mountain, which is a natural preserve. Lake is spring-fed, the swimming is excellent! Fishing for bass, trout, and land-locked Salmon. Use of kayak and canoe included.
The Cabin has two bedrooms downstairs, one with a full-size bed and the other with 2 twins. Upstairs is a large bedroom with two king beds. Inside is all natural cedar.The bathroom has a claw foot tub. The cabin has the classic maine charm, with all the modern conveniences to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. Flower gardens surround the cabin. There is a grassy area with a picnic table, firepit and a swing set for the kids.
Each season has it's own charms. Summers are magnificient in Maine with Swimming, fishing, sailing and blueberry picking. Fall is spectacular with the folliage change and the cabin offers unsurpassed views. In winter the lake freezes over and ice fishing starts. Sledding,Crosscountry skiing and snowmobiling are popular sports.

Weekly rentals are generally Saturday to Saturday.
Arrivals need to be after 2pm and departures by 10am. This is so the
housekeepers can have the home clean for the arriving guests.

Perfect Get-Away Spot ...

We rented the cabin for 5 days at the end of August 2010; we will definitely be back next summer. The views, serenity, and overall atmosphere was perfect for us. The cabin was great iwith an impressive little library, we loved the kitchen, and the flowers! We picked some of the fresh tomatoes in the garden - yum! The hot tub is a nice option as well. The neighbor shared his fresh veggies with us, nice people. The teenagers loved the canoe and the expansive sleeping quarters in the loft. If you enjoy peace and quiet, a lovely view, a comfy rustic cabin with a workable kitchen, this is the place for you. Just a stone's throw from Calais with its quaint antique store and a hidden jewel cafe, it is a great spot. New Brunswick, Canada is nearby and there is a fabulous pizza place (for the pizza) just over the border on the American side. The transaction and overall interaction with the owner was easy and pleasant.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.

Just left my cabin after a wonderful month long stay. The water is gorgeous, the lake is so warm I am amazed. The sailboat was a blast this summer, and an evening swim followed by the hot tub was perfect. I wish I could be a year rounder up there!
