I spent eight days at this property with 2 friends, and found it to be a great value. The house is in a wooded development (Sherwood Forest), and has lake access. The property is within 3 or so miles of Jacob's Pillow, and about 10 minutes from The Dream Away Lodge ( an interesting music venue and restaurant). The drive to Lenox is around 30 minutes. The house is a one and a half story with a basement. It has 3 bedrooms, each with a comfortable queen sized bed. It also has a loft area, with twin beds, on the upper level, outside the third bedroom. There are 2 baths, one is on the main level, the second on the basement level. We had plenty of hot water for 3 showers. The home is complete with a washer and dryer on the main level, and a dishwasher. The view of the lake from the deck is very nice (we ate all our meals there). There is a community beach area directly across the lake, and approximately 5/10 of a mile from the house. You can walk it, but if you are bringing chairs, it's best to drive. There is a parking area adjacent to the beach. There is also a small general store in the subdivision, for those things you need at the spur of the moment. The largest grocery store (the Price Chopper) is in Lee, about 9 miles away. We went exploring and found an interesting Arts Center in historic North Becket. Classes are offered there if you are staying several weeks, and some nice work (painting, photography, jewelry) is sometimes on exhibit and for sale. There is not much of a town in central Becket, but there is a post office. The area is rural and peaceful and very relaxing. If you are a hiker, there's plenty to explore in the area. The owner was very considerate and contacted me promptly. I would definitely recommend this property.
