This cabin was prepared for all ages from young kids to old parents. There were many games at the basement so my kids played themselves and my in-laws enjoyed lake and DVD in the cabin everyday. The cabin was really clean and organized. It is two big thumbs up cabin absolutely.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

House and neighborhood were very nice. Clean, well equipted, comfortable. Owner was very helpful. Only disappointment was that the lake is pretty murky and not inviting for a swim. Plenty of things to do nearby. Asheville, Hendersonville, Lake Lure, etc.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children.

We enjoyed a fun and busy family vacation at the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The property is on Lake Adger, a quiet lake that is good for fishing. We used the canoe and kayak provided to fish and swim off of "frog" rock. Other fun activities in the area were hiking up Chimney Mountain, Water Rafting on the Green River, Skiing and Tubing on Lake Lure. Larkins on the Lake had good food, service and a beautiful view. Great for seeing the sunset. The property owner was very attentive to our needs and quickly responded to any questions. The property has 93 steps down to lake so I don't recommend for everyone.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

My husband had to travel to Charlotte for business and stay the weekend in order to be there for the following week, so I decided to come up for the weekend so we could have a little mini-vacation. I searched for a place no more than 2 hours from Charlotte, and found this beautiful home! We knew we wanted something away from town, away from people, on the water, and it had to have a canoe so we could easily get on the water and try our luck at some fishing. This location had it all and we're so glad it was available. The home was clean, comfortable, and spacious with everything you could want. It was just the two of us, but it would be perfect for two families with children. There are two master suites and then you could pretty much toss all the kiddos down into the bottom level with all the bunk beds and game room and space down there. We loved all the access to decks built into the home, and the steps leading down to the water are very well done-- great architecture/planning there! You're also just a few miles from a nice little grocery store and hiking areas, so it's a prime location. The lake was really quiet, too. We loved it, and we'd love to return!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My family and I rented this cabin to "get away" from our every day routine for a few days. As soon as we walked in to the cabin we were very pleased with our decision to rent it. It has a very homey and welcolming feel. The cabin is situated in a wooded area surrounded by nature. We had a wonderful time canoeing on the tranquil lake. We also went down to the dock at night to see the stars. We laid down on the dock and just watched the night sky. The view was spectacular. We were in wonder and awe at the beauty above us. We felt like we were in a plantarium. The cabin is very close to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. We had a great time walking through Chimney Rock Village. We shopped, ate at a restaurant that had a view of a creek and Chimney Rock, and even took an Old Time Photo as a memento of our trip. The cabin is very clean and comfortable. It accomodated our family perfectly and had all we needed to cook, bathe, sleep and simply relax. All in all we are very pleased with the cabin and would definitely want to book it again in the future. I recommend it to anyone who wants to get away for a few days. Our only regret is that we were not able to stay longer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My family decided to head to the mountains for a nice and quiet get away for spring break this year. It was so nice to wake up each morning and hear the deer moving in the woods. We even had a family of four deer come right next to the walkway between the cabin and lake. The view from the deck is awesome, and my wife really enjoyed her quiet time reading a book on her kindle fire using the wi-fi from the cabin. My son fished from the dock, and we all enjoyed canoeing the lake and seeing all types of wildlife and beautiful homes. One of the best things about this cabin is it's location! We took road trips each day in a different direction to take in the sites of the small towns to do some shopping, and eat at the small restaurants along the way. We have decided as a family that it was so enjoyable that we will be scheduling another visit real soon! Thanks for the great vacation!! - Chris, Debbie, Jessica, and JeremyRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: In the interest of full disclosure, we would like to point out that Chris is my brother. With that being said, we agree with everything he said about our cabin and the area and we are glad that he and his family had such a fun and relaxing vacation.

This was a beautiful home and we really enjoyed our stay. It's located on a beautiful piece of property that has so much to do as well as conveniently located near eateries. Very private lot for the "get away" that you really need. The house is fully equipped with everything you would need. You just bring the groceries and your fishing poles! Have fun!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Why the Owner Chose Lake Lure:
We had been visiting the area several times a year since 2004. In 2010 we found this delightful cabin and we can't believe how lucky we are to have our own place on a lake in the mountains!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We love the peace and tranquility of our cove on the lake. I'm a photography buff and have no shortage of subjects to photograph. We often spend evenings on the dock fishing. Once we were so quiet that a deer emerged from the woods and actually swam across the cove while we watched!
Convenience is as close as Lake Lure, 9 miles away, with a sandy beach, and many restaurants. Spartanburg is 30 miles away with its mall and every store you could possibly imagine.
We feel we have the best of both worlds.
