Fantastic place!

We had a girls weekend here in early June. Celebrating my sister's 40th. This place is amazing! The details are taken care of here and you know love is in the details. Mark and Elizabeth are so fun to chat with and offer great suggestions of where to go and what to see. She has great pottery! I'm enjoying my solar lights in the yard so much. The kitchen is well stocked with spices and all. There is shampo and conditioner in the shower. The pepermint soap is to die for! The grounds around the home are gorgeous. Again the attention to detail. Stay here you won't be disappointed! We hope to get back soon! They are also close enough to town that you can walk but far enough away as to not be noisy. I had some great runs from their place toward town and through the amazing park.

Wonderful place and hosts

This is the best appointed place I have ever stayed at in Ashland or anywhere. Elizabeth and Mark were terrific hosts. The cottage is lovely and very comfortable. The attention to detail was unmatched: from touches in the bathroom to the outdoor kitchen, from the super-comfy robes to the art and pottery. It is also an easy walk from the Terra Cottage Inn to downtown and the Festival. Highly recommended.

Home Away From Home

The Terra Cottage Inn was the ideal home base to stay while attending plays at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Its location offers a very pleasant walk through a tree-lined residential neighborhood to the hub of the OSF and Lithia Park. The extremely cordial hosts, Mark and Elizabeth, think of everything, from spices in the cupboard to fresh vegatables from the garden. The cottage is spotlessly clean with comfortable beds, linens, and a fantastic outdoor leisure area under two gigantic sequoia trees. We have found the place we will always stay when visiting Ashland!

We have been coming to Ashland for 20 years and are so glad we discovered Mark and Elizabeth’s Terra Cottage Inn. This is our second stay at the TCI and will be back. Mark and Elizabeth are such a pleasure and are wonderful hosts. The cottage is comfortable, clean, well decorated, and has everything you need for a restful stay.

Love this place!

We've been going up to Ashland almost every year for the past 20 years or so, but didn't discover Mark and Elizabeth's "calm-pound" until 2007. We've stayed in the Terra Cottage Inn twice since then and the High Street Cottage next door twice as well, and plan to spend another week in the TCI this fall. Both places are lovely, well-equipped, comfortable, clean, tastefully decorated, and conveniently-located near the theaters and downtown area, as well as a short distance from the railroad district area. Elizabeth and Mark are wonderful hosts, and we just wish we'd started renting it years sooner than we did for our visits to Ashland!

We loved our stay at the Terra Cottage Inn. It was perfectly clean, so comfortable, and beautifully appointed with art, fine linens, and tasteful touches to make us feel at home. We loved having access to the gorgeous and quiet garden, patio, and outdoor kitchen. Mark and Elizabeth are gracious, friendly, helpful, yet unobtrusive hosts. It's a comfortable 10 minute walk through a lovely neighborhood to the theater. After five years of coming down to Ashland, I think we've finally found the place we will come back to again and again.

The only problem with Terra Cottage Inn is coming home. . . we just returned from another lovely weekend in Ashland and want to turn right around and go back! I can't imagine a more ideal set-up. Hosts Mark & Elizabeth live on site, but in their own lovely home, so Terra Cottage Inn affords the hospitality feel of a B&B, but with the privacy of a guest house. You will not find anywhere cleaner or more inviting than Terra Cottage Inn or High Street Cottage. I have stayed in both and can recommend them highly. A hotel, or someone's empty vacation house, do not compare with the welcoming and homey atmosphere, and attention to your comfort, that you will find at Terra Cottage or High Street. I recommend you book now, before we beat you to it!

We just returned from Ashland after spending three nights at the Terra Cottage Inn and it was very hard to leave. I don't know when we have settled in to a home away from home so quickly and been as comfortable. Besides the many features others have mentioned, the furniture in the living room is wonderful and there is plenty of good lighting in all the rooms for my husband and I who like to read. Elizabeth asked for feedback about any improvements or changes they could make to make the cottage more comfortable and we couldn't think of a thing. It is perfect.

My wife and I stayed at the Terra Cottage Inn in April of 2008. It was a wonderful place to stay. Elizabeth and Mark were excellent hosts, the property is beautiful and scrupulously clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and Elizabeth and Mark went out of their way to make us comfortable. The attention to detail was unmatched: from the fresh herbs in the fridge to the outdoor kitchen, from the super-comfy robes to the great art and pottery, it was like having an awesome vacation home. And, of course, it's an easy walk from the Terra Cottage Inn to the Plaza and the Festival. What great people and what a great place to stay!

My friends and I stayed at the cottage last summer while taking a class and attending the Shakespeare Festival. It was like staying with an aunt and uncle -- they were attentive without being obtrusive. The cottage is lovely, with many sweet touches including Elizabeth's pottery and Mark's art, as well as books, lotions, towels, robes, and a garden to use. The outdoor kitchen is just that -- you'll want to cook!

We enjoyed a very pleasant stay at the Terra Cottage Inn recently. What a cozy and comfortable place to stay in Ashland! All the extra touches and the wonderful outdoor spaces make this an exceptional home base for a weekend trip or longer. We plan to come back for a longer stay soon!

I've stayed at five or six places in Ashland, and staying with Mark and Elizabeth was the best experience I've had. The cottage is adorable, and has every amenity you can think of (Dr. Bronner's soap! Q-tips! A first aid kit! fresh salad from the garden!). The outside kitchen was our favorite part chosen from a long list of fantastic features.

This place is so beautiful! The pictures really don't do it justice-- everything has been thought of: fresh lettuce & herbs from the garden in the fridge, beautiful handmade finishes & furniture in the cottage, lovely outdoor area, and walk to town. On top of that Mark and Elizabeth are the most gracious hosts you will meet, and fun to talk to! Our 12 and 14 year-old daughters loved the place, too. We'll definitely be back.

Wow! We have "been around" for quite a few years, but Mark and Elizabeth are the best hosts we have run across - bar none. All the amenities described on the Terra Cottage Inn website are there, and in tip top shape. All the little touches (like whole bean coffee for the first morning, with the grinder) are there. A great outdoor area for grilling and chilling. And great hosts - fun, creative, interesting to talk to. They worked hard to make our stay pleasant. (Even provided Tom with a motorscooter to run around town in - since he was a licensed motorcycle driver!) We are glad to have found this spot in the town that our son and daughter-in-law have moved to - we'll be back!

This place was wonderful. Beds were so comfortable, and it was so clean. Mark and Elizabeth think of EVERYTHING. When my car had troubles, they even offered to loan me a car to drive to a business metting in Medford. We will definitely be back!!

We have rented many homes over the past several years and enjoyed more than our fair share of great rentals from Florida to California. The Terra Cottage was without a doubt one of the very best. By far the cleanest, most comfortable and definitely the most completely furnished. The location is great and Elizabeth and Mark are wonderful hosts. We are planning to return in May and September of this year and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Ashland. Sandy and Gene Retzlaff

We have been satisfied VRBO users for 4 years--Terra Cottage Inn has quite simply been our best lodging experience yet. Your hosts, Elizabeth and Mark are artists and the decor reflects both an artist's touch and at times sense of humor. In a word, TCI is both comfortable, well appointed and with quality bedding which is important for us--we stayed a month. Your hosts provide everything(often promised by others, TCI delivers.) To give an example, based on prior rentals, we travel with a salad spinner and coffee grinder to augment what others typically provide--not necessary here. They've thought of everything--spices, condiments,... even fresh beans for your first cup of coffee. Finally, TCI's location is in walking distance of theaters, galleries, restaurants, the Library and all modes of shopping. Ken and Margo
