Enjoy the comfort of our remodeled and tastefully decorated (so we have been told), one-bedroom, one-bath condominium. Imagine being 75 steps from a mile long golden sand beach on the east shore of Kauai. From your private lanai with unobstructed views of the pacific ocean, you can watch the incredible sunrises and listen to the soothing sounds of the ocean. Our condominium is a Non-Smoking corner unit on the 2nd floor that has been completely remodeled. Custom-made cherry cabinets and granite counter tops have been installed in our fully equipped kitchen. All the appliances are GE Profile & Kenmore Elite; porcelain tiles grace the entry, bathroom and kitchen areas. The bathroom has a large tiled walk-in shower.
Besides the new additions, the condo comes with all the amenities listed above. Added amenities include FREE SECURE WiFi internet connection, HD TV with On-demand, beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and tennis rackets for your use during your staying at our condominium.
The Pono Kai resort is a non-smoking property. The resort provides a front desk that is open 24 hours a day. There is onsite free parking. Each building has coin operated laundry facility and an elevator. The grounds are beautifully maintained with extensive grass areas, herb garden so you can pick fresh herbs for your meals, and a Koi pond. For your convenience there is an activities desk so you can arrange for your island adventures. Each Thursday and Sunday morning a 'tour operator' presentation is hosted at the pool area (highly recommended) and you may even win a two-for-one excursion. A workout room has also been added as well as a 5 mile all purpose path which follows the coastline just steps outside the resort. There is a pool/spa area and 2 tennis courts and many other on-property activities.

You will find our condominium at the Pono Kai, in the historic town of Kapaa, on a 12 acre beach front resort centrally located on the east shore in the historic town of Kapaa. We are only 15 minutes (8 miles) from Lihue Airport and shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. The north shore and south shore are approximately 35 minutes away from our location.
Other Activities: Lydgate Park, boogie boarding, restaurants, boating, kite surfing, rafting, shuffleboard, shopping, kayaking, paragliding and golf.
Golf: There are 10 golf courses on Kauai. The closes one to the Pono Kai is the municipal Wailua Golf Course.

About the owner: I'm an Interior Designer and my husband is a Construction Consultant is the San Francisco Bay Area.
Our son is married and now we have a grandson. We also have a daughter. Fortunately for us, our family also lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Why the Owner Chose Kapaa: The first time we came to Kauai was in 1971. We toured 4 of the islands and fell in love with the 'Garden Isle'.
We had friends who owned a condo at the Pono Kai Resort. We started renting their unit and spending many of our family vacations on Kauai.
We always hoped to buy one day a little piece of paradise. In 2001, our wish came true.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo: The Pono Kai is centrally located on the east side of the island. This location is great for people who want to explore the island. The resort is conveniently located in the historical town of Kapaa. The condo is in walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The beach and a 5 mile walking/bike path is right out front of our condo.
