For our anniversary we stayed at the pension and it was perfect! Such a beautiful spot. Each morning we went out in the boat on the lake and caught fish every cast, Disneyland fishing. The cottage is beautiful and spacious. Beautiful property. the owners Ann and Jim, couldn't be nicer. A real gem. Thank you!

This is a cozy guest house on an estate that nestles in among rolling pastoral hills with dairy cows grazing on a nearby hillside, birds twittering in the trees, frogs croaking in the pond and just a general slow-moving, good-natured vibe. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Although you'd swear you were a million miles from anywhere, Jim's place is just a quick drive away from one of the most beautiful towns in Sonoma County, Healdsburg. We found it to be pretty centrally located for day trips to the ocean, hiking in the hills, and stopovers at one or another of the wonderful wineries and restaurants in the area. The rooms are tastefully furnished, clean and charming. We'll be back!

The owners were so friendly and hospitable and the guest house was everything that we could want! Highlights of our visit: the private lake was so beautiful and I could hardly get my husband away from fishing for other activities. We went on a wonderful day trip to the Armstrong Redwood Forest and to Jenner by the Sea and Hwy 1 down the coast, stopping at some wineries along the way. We loaded the bikes into our SUV and took them to a road suggested by the owners for a nice ride in the wine country. It was just a slice of heaven and we recommend this beautiful place!

Pension Amongst the Vines was one of the highlights of our recent California trip. Pictures don't do it justice, it's so beautiful that we found ourselves cutting other outings short just so we could come back, sit on the dock and enjoy the serene and gorgeous surroundings. Jim and Ann were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. We can't wait until we can come back for another stay!

My wife and I spent 5 very enjoyable days at the Van Noy's last week. It was delightful; while we spent our days exploring the nearby vineyards, tasting rooms, and countryside, we were equally entertained to sit on the dock with a bottle of wine and enjoy the serenity of our surroundings. Reading a book with a picnic lunch never felt so good! The pictures of the property are accurate. It is a romantic get-away that offers a first class experience.

The Pension among the Vines was exactly as described. Owner Jim was welcoming and explained all of the details we needed to know. The property was very well maintained and in a perfect position for visiting Healdsburg and nearby wineries. Perfect for a couple who want a quiet, relaxing get-away.

We felt very fortunate to have stayed in this cottage during our recent visit to the Healdsburg area. The location is lovely - relaxing, well-maintained, quiet and complete. The owners, Jim and Ann, are friendly and welcoming - stopping by to say hello and to ensure that we had everything that we needed for our stay. The cottage has everything that you need for your visit - there are even bicycles and fishing gear if you are so inclined. We enjoyed sitting on the dock or the vine-covered patio watching the birds or reading a book. Town is not far (3-4 miles) and there are several wineries on the road in both directions. Do not hesitate to stay here - you will be glad you did.

After days of busy travel, we were so impressed to be staying in this charming residence. The relaxing atmosphere of the pond and surrounding vineyard landscape was much appreciated. The photos and description of the property and home give you a good impression of what to expect...the reality, as you arrive, is even better. We enjoyed quiet and tranquil moments sitting on the dock with the pond providing such a natural spectacle. The living accomodations provided all we needed and more. Jim and Ann Van Noy were perfect hosts. We would recommend this VRBO to anyone who is seeking a special, relaxing rest stop in the busy Healdsburg wine country. We look forward to a future time when we can return to again enjoy this special place.

My wife and spent a week at this lovely location. It makes you feel that you are in a perfect place. Each day we would sit on the dock with a glass of wine and say "another day in paradise". The owners were available if you need anything otherwise they left us alone to enjoy the charm of the area. I have mixed emotions writing this review, on one hand I want to share the experience while in the back of my mind I want to keep this as a secret get away only for my wife and I.

Jim and Ann, Thank you for sharing your wonderful guest house with us. What a wonderful spot. To those looking for a wonderful romantic getaway in the middle of Russian River wine country, look no further. The pictures do not do this place justice. It is incredibly appointed, the bed is extremely comfortable and the surroundings are just heavenly. Jim and Ann's biggest problem must be kicking people out that refuse to leave after their reserved time is over. Healdburg is just a short bike ride away (bikes supplied by Jim and Ann). You can literally walk to a number of wonderful wineries just up and down the road. I can't say enough about this place. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I just spent a wonderful week at Healdsburg Pension to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The property is absolutely beautiful and the accommodations very nice and comfortable. It was a perfect location; both secluded and near town, as well as many wineries in our favorite Sonoma County area - Dry Creek Valley. The property owners, friendly and down-to-earth, went above and beyond while allowing our privacy. We didn't want to leave and surely will be back!

This place is even better than the pictures. My husband and I loved having a private lake and dock. It was peaceful, relaxing, modern AND close to all of the wineries and the adorable town of Healdsburg. Jim and Ann were wonderful.

What an amazing place to come back every evening. The guest house is beautifully decorated and Jim/Ann are so kind. This is the perfect setting -- just close enough to Healdsburg and just far away enough to feel secluded. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Couldn't have been better. We stayed here towards the end of Sept. 2006 for 4 days and 3 nights. It is surrounded by many wineries, close to Healdsburg, and at the same time very secluded. The cottage, landscape, pond, and hospitatlity were terrific. We look forward to staying here again in the near future and recommend it to others.
