This house was absolutely terrific. Do not be misled by those touting "west side" houses. This east side location was minutes from downtown, and had terrific access to everything. The house was very comfortable - we had two couples staying - with plenty of space for us to be together or not. Easy living spaces, with decor that made you feel at home. Kitchen was well-equipped. We took advantage of the spa and it was absolutely wonderful. The redwood deck has spectacular views, a terrific place to enjoy a bottle of wine. The photos and descriptions are very reflective of the property. We would definitely return and will recommend it to friends and family. Quiet cul de sac with all necessary amenities close by. We highly recommend this house.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We spent a weekend here in September with 2 friends (4 of us in total). The house was perfect for us: clean, comfortable beds, linens, peaceful neighborhood, fully equipped kitchen, dining room and outside space, wifi... The proximity to downtown Paso Robles and area wineries is awesome. Everything was as advertised and the photos are accurate. Thanks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Ron, as usual we had a wonderful time "taking care" of your home. We always enjoy visiting Paso Robles and staying at your place is one of the reasons. Your home is always clean, very inviting and just adds to our overall enjoyment. It's a great location...close to everything but yet far enough away to enjoy the quiet, slow pace of the region. Obviously we come to Paso for the wines. We visit our old favorites but also discover new finds. It was always great to come back to your home after a day of wine tasting. We would open a bottle of wine (of course on your great deck), talk about the places we visited, and decide what to have for dinner (your kitchen had everything we needed). After dinner, it was on to the hot tub (again, a great view). And the best part? We did it all over again the next day. Thanks again, Ron. We hope to be able to visit again next year. Paso is a perfect halfway point between LA and San Francisco so it was a great location for myself and three friends to meet. The house was fantastic and had everything we needed. So close to downtown! The wine in the area is amazing and we drank quite a bit of it enjoying the view from the deck. Our thanks to Ron and we'll be back soon!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Our party of four (two couples) spent the week at this VRBO property on Via Briza in Paso Robles. The house was comfortable, clean, bright, spacious and fully equipped with all the comforts of home. It is also very convenient to many wineries, and an hour or less drive from Hearst Castle and Morro Bay. We spent several evenings enjoying the deck and its beautiful views of the countryside to the south and west, all with unexpectedly warm evening temperatures and clear skies.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The house was perfect for our (4 women) stay in Paso Robles. The home is close enough to town that it was an easy drive to dinner; yet far enough away that it was very quiet in the evening with a great view of the hills in the distance. The furniture and beds were very comfortable and we got around the sofa sleeper by moving the mattress to the floor which worked well for us :-). The homeowner was very gracious and provided tips on where to have a fantastic dinner (Buona Tavola was wonderful) as well as some great wineries. The entire focus of the trip was tasting and buying wine and I must say we came home with some great finds from some of our past favorites Turley and Justin as well as new favorites such as Paolillo, Donati, and Hammersky. This was a great trip and will definitely look for availability of this house again on a future wine buying trip to Paso Robles.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Our first time in Paso Robles was perfect. We decided on Paso for a couple's weekend because it was halfway between us(Los Angeles) and our friends(Oakland). Ron's house made it even more special to have time with our friends in a relaxed environment with an amazing view. The house was in a fabulous location close to downtown Paso and all the amazing wineries. We enjoyed cooking in the big kitchen and eating meals on the fantastic deck. I am recommending this house to my family who is travelling to Paso Robles in the fall. The value can not be beat! Thanks again Ron for such a lovely weekend in your amazing home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Ron was great and the house was perfect for our group. The descriptions and photos of the house are accurate on VRBO. The beds were very comfortable and the views are amazing!. We did see deer in the morning hours. It has a great location and is very close to several wineries which we enjoyed. I would definitely rent again!Did you find this review helpful? Thanks Ron for making a weekend getaway so easy... The accomodations were ideal, we had a couple driving down from San Fran, we drove up from LA. Perfectly located with a 2-3 minute drive from the downtown area (recommend the Artisan for dinner and Panolivo for brunch). The house was immaculate, the kitchen had all the necessary utensils, the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the winery suggestion you made (Poalillo has the chardonnay again), but our favorite winery was Per Cazo off Vineyard. The personal effects throughout the property were a nice touch too. Thanks again, looking forward to our next stay in Paso!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house exceeded my expectations. There was more than enough room. The upstairs living area was fully furnished. There was a great kitchen. The house was very tastefully decorated. The view was incredible and the backyard was nicely landscaped. I saw a deer in the gully behind the house, just as the owner promised. I tried the spa and it was oh so relaxing. The house is very close in proximity to old town Paso Robles. The only problem with my stay was that I was so busy with my son's wedding that I didn't have more time to relax. I would definitely recommend staying at this fantastic property.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: It is so heart warming to hear that people enjoy my home as much as I do. Glad the deer showed up in the arroyo as agreed :)

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: As a former naval aviator, I have traveled all over the world. For me, there is no better place to be than Paso Robles. I was born in Spokane. I've lived in Belmont Ca. Prospect Heights Ill.Whidbey Island,Pensacola Fla.Cubi Point PI and Camarillo Ca. I founded a non-profit called Partnership for Responsible Parenting in 2007. I am a pilot, and I enjoy tennis, flying and eating at Paso Robles' many incredible restaurants.
Why the Owner Chose Paso Robles:
Paso Robles is "Authentic California". The people are friendly and straight forward. It is midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles so it shares elements of both cultures yet retains its cowboy roots. There are deer and wild turkey everywhere. There is some of the best wine in California. The air is pure and clean and dry. Paso Robles is the home town every town wants to be.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I love staying here because it is close to everything, yet I see deer in my back yard almost every morning.
I think you will enjoy the "newness" of the home as much as I do. Old houses are quaint, but new houses are very quiet and comfortable. Ask me about local wines. I love to tell people where the good ones are and who the wine maker is. I know more about them than I should!
