'This house exceeded our expectations, big, beautiful, clean, gorgeous view, well-maintained property, close to conveniences, well equipped. My kids loved it from the second they walked in - all five of them. I would highly recommend this home to anyone and everyone.
'Thanks for a wonderful time Mike!'

Mike,
Your Jay home is the homiest home we have ever rented. Everything was so inviting, soft, clean, organized, scenic, well-decorated... It was just like home. I loved the gate at the top of the stairs on the deck; what a great way to keep pets and children happy. We even did our yoga routine on the deck; it was so peaceful. The views, day and night, rain or shine, were fantastic...breathtaking! We could see for miles and miles. If I had to describe our stay in one word, I would choose TRANQUIL. We were surrounded by tranquility. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Nancy (summer 2008)

Wonderful house located close to town and Jay Peak. Modern furniture and appliances throughout this clean, well maintained, newly built 4 bedroom home. Game room contains foosball, darts, DVD/VCR/Stereo and pool table, great for hanging out in when not on the slopes. We also enjoyed the beautiful master bedroom with private balcony. Owner is very professional and caring. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks to the SBOL gang, we hope to have you back next year. Book early if you are set on particular dates, we fill up fast. Mike and Doreen

The home was as advertised. It was very clean on arrival, big kitchen and large dining and living area. Very warm and well insulated even with howling winds and blizzard conditions. Very nice game room. The hot tub is very big and very clean. Only about 7 mi to Jay Peak on well plowed and not extremely graded road. Perfect for 8 but would accommodate 10. Jay Peak cooperated with a mid week 20+ inch dump on top of six inches the day before. Doesn't get any better than that. Mike the owner is excellent to deal with and very prompt response to any and all questions or concerns. Would rent this house again when we return to Jay.Owner response: Well I have to say that Mother Nature was on your side. You had one of the best weeks of the winter and I am glad that our home met the expectations of your group. It was nice speaking with you and communicating with you while you were staying in our home. Hope to have you back soon.

For the 4th year in a row, the MountainView Trailhouse in Jay, VT has delivered. The house was stocked with everything we needed, more so than my own house. The homeowner Mike makes sure everything is perfect for your stay and is only happy if his renters are happy. Jay Peak offers everything you could want in a mountain and join that with the MountainView Trailhouse, you will never want to leave.Owner response: What can I say? It is great having you year after year. We are so happy that you enjoy your stay and look forward to dealing with you next time. Thanks for the review Moose Chasers!

Fantastic Stay, Ski, and Snowmobile Weekend!

I put together a 10 person group of young working professionals trying to get away from the daily grind to relax and enjoy the most that winter can possibly offer. This place gave us the opportunity to do just that! We had snow on the trails for Snowmobiling, Jay Peak for Skiing and Snowboarding, and a fantastic house to relax in while it was cold outside! (-8 to 14 degrees F). Everyone in our party left talking non-stop about what a great weekend they had. I couldn't be happier with the place and really hope to stay there again. To be a bit more specific, the house is located directly on the snowmobile trails. We were able to park the trailer, unload once, and didn't have to trailer again until we left. Jay Peak was a short drive away so we didn't have to wake up super early to get to the mountain on time, we kind of rolled out of bed, ate breakfast as a group, and went to the mountain to get a full day in. We also spent an afternoon at Jay Peaks Waterpark which I highly recommend to people of all ages! Kids love it, and us 30 year olds loved it! Whether we were coming back from the mountain or snowmobiling, there is a great area to enter the house in the bottom floor to take off snowy gear where it was warm and could let our stuff dry out. Then we could go upstairs into the living area dry and warm and didn't have snow or water every where. Other amenities we took full advantage of was the large hot tub which was nice at night. The gas fireplace for heat and a great atmosphere. The built in sound system that hooked up to an ipod and played music all through the house. Comfy couches and bed arrangements. Pool Table, Fooseball table, and Dart Board. And everyone really liked the bar height dining room table that fit our entire group so we could all eat breakfast and dinner all together. The kitchen being part of the living room is nice to keep everyone together so those preparing food were still part of the group. The owner was very easy to work with, honest, and helpful. We had an issue when we first arrived with the wireless internet and a quick call to the owner and he was able to help fix the situation over the phone and then we were all set for the weekend. The property description was all very accurate. The house matched the pictures. The house was clean and tidy which is saying a lot given the critical guests we had to cleanliness. Very satisfied customer and hopefully returning very soon. Thanks again.Owner response: Wow! What a great review. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Sounds like the house worked out well for you. Thank you so much for respecting our home and choosing to enter through the mud room. It is considerate guests like you that help preserve our home. We are so glad you chose our home and we look forward to having you again next year. Return guests always get a little break on the price too. Keep us in mind. Thanks for the patience with the internet.

My family and I stayed at the house for nearly a week in late August. I can't describe how BEAUTIFUL the setting is. The house faces the mountains, and has a big wrap-around porch that allows for endless hours of sitting and admiring the view. The inside of the house was gorgeous (especially the kitchen and living room), and the owners provide absolutely everything needed for a comfortable stay (every single kitchen gadget we needed was there, and the house had more than enough towels and sheets). The hot tub is amazing, and there is also a very nice game room downstairs that we enjoyed. As far as activities to do while staying at this house, the Long Trail can be accessed from a connector trail that begins down a road across the street from the house. You can follow this connector trail (which eventually leads to the Long Trail after 2 miles) to hike to the Canadian border (gorgeous hike), and our family did this several times. The Pump House at Jay Peak is about 10 minutes away, and the kids loved this as well. There is also an AMAZING swimming hole about 10 minutes away, and I have to admit that this may have been the highlight of the trip for the kids (the water is cold, but there are all kinds of 'cliffs' to jump off of and even our 6-year old was jumping off cliffs! No worries--it is completely safe). The Jay Store is also about a 10-minute drive away, and offers every grocery item you could want for your stay, as well as good local beer, great iced coffee, and delicous sandwiches/baked goods. This is a great place to stay if you want to immerse yourself in the outdoors. The trail running is outstanding (I ran several sections of the Long Trail during my stay). And, the owners very generously allow pets, so it was great to be able to bring our dog along. The owners were also incredibly responsive to our questions about the area, and gave us a call once we arrived to make sure everything was in place and ready for our stay. I would highly recommend this house to others.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you Kristin, We look forward to your return next summer and are so happy that you enjoyed your stay. We really try to cover everything you might need. So glad you were satisfied with the accommodations. Thanks for the fantastic review!!!

Stayed for a week in August. House very neat and clean. Fully stocked with linens and kitchen ware. Did some hiking, visited Montreal, Canada and drove into Burlington for a day. Mike was very helpful in giving tips on what to do and where to shop as well as answering any other questions we had. There was ample room for 6 adults. We had a great time.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

My family as well as my daughter’s boyfriend stayed at this location for President’s week 2012. The house was beautiful in and out especially when we received 47" of snow over a three day period. We enjoyed the hot tub which was spotless and the fire place was very relaxing. We were warm and thanks to myself and the well equipped kitchen; well fed. The game room downstairs had plenty to keep three teenagers busy. The slopes were maybe 7 minutes away which was very handy for those who wanted to partake. The Jay General store less than five minutes away was well stocked with those items you may need to stock up on or replenish while staying at the home. There is a Price Chopper about 30 minutes away as well. I would highly recommend this home. Mike Andrews was a delight to deal with and very helpful in suggesting alternative activities for those who didn't utilize the slopes. He also recommended a lovely restaurant down in North Troy called Tastings as well as Sutton QC, Canada to visit, what a quaint little French influenced village, the pastries and chocolate are to die for. All in all it was a wonderful location, home and overall experience.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the kind words. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay in our home. I am always glad to suggest interesting places to our guests. We really want you to make the most of your stay and find what makes the Jay Peak area so special. It is so much more than just a ski mountain. We do hope that you can make it back to the house someday soon. It was a true pleasure dealing with you from the beginning. Thanks to you and the whole family for treating our home with respect and also leaving it in such great condition. You are welcome back anytime! Hope to hear from you soon, Mike and Doreen

Excellent place to stay if you're planning on skiing Jay Peak. The house is very clean and the layout accommodates privacy as well as the entire group coming together after a day at the hill. Owners are very friendly and helpful through the entire rental process, helped with getting deals on lift tickets and were always available by phone if assistance was required. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks a ton for checking us out and thanks for the great review. We are glad you had a great time and we hope to see you back next year for another ski vacation. Check us out in the summer for specials on golf and the water park. Take care. Mike

For the 3rd winter straight we have stayed at the Mtn. View Trailhouse and could not have been happier. The annual trip includes 10 guys and there is ample space for everyone. As always, the house was stocked with everything you could ever need and the homeowner Mike is great to deal with. Even though the snow totals in the Northeast are lower than usual this year, don't be fooled, we had 3 powder days and the weather forecasts never called for snow. Jay Peak has its own climate and you can count on a minimum of at least flurries when you are there. When you combine the best rental property in Jay with the best mountain in the East what more could you ask for? P.S. We discussed renting your house in the summer for a golf getaway so expect to hear from me! Thanks again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Wow!! Great review! It is really nice having you back to the house every year. I am so glad that we continue to meet your expectations. Once again, you have managed to hit it right with Mother Nature. We will be looking forward to your stay in the summer. By the way, we offer discounts on golf too. Thanks and take care.

About the owner: Our constant goal while owning this house is to create a comfortable and affordable home that we hoped to find when went on vacations. Now that we are just about done with the work, I doubt we will be going anywhere else. We really love our house and hope you will to. This is not a worn down rental house, we like to call it VACATION HOME.
Why the Owner Chose Jay:
We love to ski, hike, swim and just relax. There are so many covered bridges, scenic drives and swimming holes within a few miles. Great hiking on easily accessible trails right from the front door. Skiing at Jay Peak!! We also love the quiet, peaceful surroundings of our secluded property although it is only 6.5 miles to the mountain.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Peace, privacy and quiet, alone with your family and friends. We are the only house at Jay with the gorgeous views form the hot tub, dining table for 10, a fireplace and a complete game room.
