If you have ever seen the Corona commercial with two people sitting on the beach just watching the waves and thought, "I want to be there." Then this is where you want to be. Time slows down and you begin to meld into Tico Time. It is beautiful and peaceful and you can totally escape reality and relax. The house is very clean and well maintained and was large enough for the 10 of us. Mireya is a gem and will give you as much or as little attention as you require. She is very helpful and can put you in touch with any of the many activities available in the area. There are so many things to see and experience in Costa Rica and depending on your activity level, there is something for everyone. This house is located close enough for day trips to many of the attractions. The guide books and internet can provide you with endless possibilities. And after you have spent your day "adventuring", you return to Villa Siempre and its peacefulness rejuvinates you for the next day. There are miles of beaches to walk, beautiful shells to see and endless waves to play in. It's definately not another hotel room. There are restaurants within walking distance that have great food. The fresh fruit and fish is to die for. You can either catch your own fish or pick it up locally in Tamarindo. There is a fresh fish truck that comes by and Mireya can let you know the schedule. You can shop for groceries fairly close and Tamarindo offers gift shops galore as well as banking. We found this house was centrally located to all our activities and needs. This was our first trip out of the country and we found the owner very helpful in providing us with the information we needed to avoid any problems. The rental went smoothly and the house was better in person than in the listing. Everyone in our party enjoyed themselves and would definately come back. We were on the plane headed home and wishing we were still there. I hope we have the opportunity to stay at Villa Siempre next year and we would highly recommend this property. Hopefully you won't book the time we want, but if you do. Enjoy!!!

Villa Siempre exceeded my expectations, the Villa itself was spacious and clean. The beach and ocean right outside your patio door was amazing. The sunsets were beyond beautiful. The Taco Star stand down the beach in front of the hotel had the best tacos I have ever eaten. We were fortunate enough to see the Leatherback Turtles laying egss and the samller ones trying to make it to the ocean, it was quite the experience. This would be the perfect place to bring a younger family with so much to do and see. Tamarindo was a friendly town with everyhting you need. To describe this vacation in Playa Grande with one word would be AMAZING. Thank you for letting us enjoy your Villa.

Vacationed in this home with 2 other families. When we walked into the home for the first time we were awed by the spectacular ocean view. The home has everything you need for a great vacation, including a wonderful and warm caretaker who is there to help make your stay one to remember. The furnishings were very nice, the beds very comfortable (nice linens) and large beach towels were provided. Wireless, TV, books and games were all provided. The beach is clean, extremely well maintained and the sand is perfect. The surfing/boogie boarding was so much fun, shelling and tile pooling....right outside your back door! You also have the option of daily housekeeping, laundry and meal preparation. I can't wait to go back! Pura Vida!

We arrived at sunset. We walked in the front and out the patio doors to take in one of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen. This was in the first five minutes. The rest of the week held it's own with long walks on the beach, surfing morning til dusk, and relaxing with my book in the shade of the trees just steps from the back door. We are booking in June for our return.

Words can not explain the beauty of Villa Siempre. The pictures do not do justice to this house. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The living areas are perfect for watching the surf, relaxing, and entertaining. The kitchen is well equipped and can handle large groups of people. We had 10 people and we never felt crowded. There were plenty of bathrooms and wonderful showers for everyone. Mireya takes care of the Villa. She will help you set up trips, cook an authentic meal (yummy), clean bathrooms, wash and change your linen daily. Ask her what days the Pastry/Bread truck comes by and get a special treat!. As for Playa Grande, this is the beach with so much. Literally steps outside your door is world class surf breaks. Great for experts AND beginners. Plus, you can watch family surf from the couch inside the cool comfort of the Villa. We spent 21 days at Villa Siempre and it was one of the most relaxing vacations EVER. We could read in the morning, surf and play in the warm waters then go off exploring the beaches or local towns. We would also take day trips to other towns to explore. All the towns near and far had wonderful experiences waiting for us. There were days where we wouldn't put a pair of shoes on, but just wander the beautiful Playa Grande beach and nearby coves. There were plenty of day trips to explore the wonders of Costa Rica. The Palos Verde Boat trip had to be a highlight, as we were able to feed the gentle white-faced monkeys, pet a crock, and watch to the Howler monkeys. I would love to take family and friends back to this very special spot to share. It is a wonderful place to unwind, explore, practice your Spanish, and just have fun!

Absolutely Amazing! We stayed at Villa Siempre for several weeks on Playa Grande. This is an incredible house that was clean, well kept and maintained. The beds and furniture were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking and entertaining. The housekeeper was fantastic and helped us with every need. You can also ask her to cook... very good meals for cheap! The beach is right out your door with world class surfing just steps away. You can easily sit in the living room and watch people surfing and kids playing in the sand...you cannot get any closer to the water and beach. Several very good restaurants are also only a few minutes walk away. We will definitely go back and will recommend to our friends.

Villa Siempre is right on the beach…perfect location for your Playa Grande vacation. This is a beautiful villa about 20 minutes (walk) north of Tamarindo…the Las Tortugas Hotel and other restaurants are very close (walking distance) for dining out. We prepared most of our meals in the kitchen - everything you need is right there. The fisherman bring their truck by with fresh catch of the day and the lobster is great! Kike's is the internet/bar/restaurant within walking distance (follow the path across the street - it's the short cut). There is a surf shop there and a medical center as well. We had a wonderful time - 5 of us. If you want to visit Playa Grande this is where you should stay!

Whether a first timer to Costa Rica or a seasoned visiter Playa grande is perfect fit. This easy and simple to access villa provides a tanquil setting for what ever your travel plans include. located just North of Tamerindo makes it a perfect place to either hunker down on the endless pistine beach or a base camp to explore the northern coast. Surf, Scuba, Zip line, Jungle River tours, to name a few activities close by or right outside your door. Tamerindo, a 45 minute hike down the beach or short car ride is the closest of the large towns just about any thing you can think of can be organized from here. roughly a 35 dollar cab ride if looking for night life," highly recomended". Or no car needed at all if you choose to hike to kike's a reasonably priced bar and restraunt( take the short cut infront of the house watch the crabs!). Treat yourself to the delectible delights of Rip Jack's. Also a 8 minute stoll from the house. Sushi is there great, but the have a great menu. The employeees are friendly and knowledgeable. Tuesday and fridays morning a truck goes by the house selling fresh and vegetables. This is a must, listen for the horn honking. Pirates cove restraunt fresh fish they catch daily, snokeling if the swell is right . Playa Flamingo, Playa coco go explore or Just stay at home and enjoy the beach and the sunsets.

What a beautiful place to stay. Right on the beach, it is literally 20 steps to be surfing or boogy boarding. Rooms are spacious, well furnished, comfortable, and air-conditioned. The three master-bathrooms have good sized walk-in tiled showers right off the bedrooms, and the kitchen area is well appointed and large enough to prepare and serve meals to a good sized group. The outdoor patio at the beach side entrance is well equiped with umbrella table with chairs, lounge chairs, an outdoor shower and sink to wash the sand off yourself and beach/surf gear without having to track it into the house, and a large palm tree to provide some shade. The on-site housekeeper is great, keeps the place clean, in good working order, and provides excellent assistance for booking tours and providing information on things to do and places to go. Although you can get into Tamirindo during business hours by walking down the beach and taking the water taxi across the estuary, it's handy to have a rental car if you want to go into town for dinner and night life. Taxis will bring you from Tamirindo back to Playa Grande, but getting one to come out to Playa Grande to pick you up can be a challenge. However, there are also places within walking distance for meals and drinks. Tamarindo has an excellent supermarket with anything you could want, including fresh produce, fresh meat and fish, etc. If you want to hang at the beach, stock up on supplies at the supermarket first as you won't want to make that trip into town too often, and there is not much in the way of grocery shopping available within walking distance. However, there are local mini-marts closer than Tamirindo that can probably provide most of what you'll need. For just hanging at the house and beach I'd skip the rental car, take the water taxi to town to do a big shop, and take a taxi back to Playa Grande with all your supplies for the week. There are some nice coves north of the house for snorkeling, and we did do a dive trip out to Catalina Island, booked through the dive shop in Tamirindo, but one scuba dive boat trip is all you'll want to do as there are not much in the way of other dive sites worth going to near this part of Costa Rica.

My husband and I had an amazing time in Costa Rica and we absolutely loved the home! For those that enjoy adventure and privacy there is no other way to go! We went horseback riding on the beach and through the jungle, zip lining, hiked to a gorgeous waterfall, ate some incredible food, and went on a crodile tour where we got to feed monkeys. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the patio and had drinks while listening to the waves roll in after the sun went down. We have nothing but great memories and amazing pictures from our stay at Villa Siempre. We would go back right now if we could!!!

Our experience with two kids under 10 and four adults was excellent. The place is commodius, we could have had another two adults and two kids with no problems. It was a dream vacation for our daughter's family. It is very kid friendly. After our daughter's family left we traveled for four weeks in Costa Rica and visited nine other beaches in Guanacaste. Playa Grande was definitely the best. The housekeeper did an excellent job and her son was the same age as our grandson and they had a great time playing together in spite of the language barrier. She also prepared two excellent Costa Rican dinner for us. She was very accomodating and kept the place and our clothes clean without any supervision. We are going to do our best to take other family members back to Playa Grande and let them experience a vacation of a lifetime.

Playa Grande is one of those gems on a pristine beach with amazing views and easy access. It's in a great location near Tamarindo and other great cities for everything you might want to do. There is great food within walking distance and access to one of the most spectacular sea turtle egg laying sites in the world. Our last morning we woke up to see baby turtles hatching out of the sand and making their way to the beach it was awesome! Highly highly recommend you stay at this wonderful place.

This was our first time in Costa Rica and it was definitely the most memorable. I did my research from guidebooks but with what the villa offered, it was better than I imagined! Where else do you have a quiet clean beach right outside and you can come back in to cool down from the sun? Also, there are gigantic turtles that come to lay their eggs in the sand and monkeys in the trees behind the villa. It was a great location! Clean, safe, and close to everything! Very relaxing and very close to Taramindo. If you do not have a car, the tour companies will come pick you up. We did zip lining, visited the volcanos, hot springs, saw turtles, went ATV, and 4WD.

I'm not one to take a real vacation, just trips. I try to fit in as much stuff as I can do and always carry all my stuff in a backpack. However, this time around, I grabbed 3 of my girlfriends, booked our tickets and the house just knowing we were going to be parked on the beach for the week. When we first showed up and checked out the house, I knew the pictures didn't do justice. The house is beautiful and spacious. The kitchen is big and nice, the living room has 3 couches to relax on at night and the dining room table is great to play games on. The first day there, I didn't want to do anything except for surf, well attempt, read and relax. I'm not a big surfer but I like going out and having fun. We rented boards and bikes (highly recommend) from Alan who lives a couple houses down. The water is warm, I don't believe in wet suits, and I just went literally right in front of the house to the beach break and really learned how to surf. There are 2 other surf breaks diagonal from the house as well. The next day we wondered to Tamarindo and were happy that we decided to stay in a secluded area instead of in the main city. The rest of the week was relaxing and wonderful. Mireya, the caretaker, is wonderful and helped us book ATV and Zip Line tours. She told us to go walking out the trial just down the house and saw a family of monkey's swinging from tree to tree. I would definitely go back to this house with my friends and even my family for a fun relaxing vacation but who also want fun things to do close by.

My trip to Costa Rica was in October 2009... Villa Siempre was the PERFECT home base for a combination of relaxation and adventure. The pictures cannot describe the beauty of this place. The wide sandy beach directly in front of the house stretches for miles- interrupted only by a picture perfect assortment of seashells. I could have spent weeks just hanging at the house- swimming (the beach here has mellow waves and a nice sandy bottom with no coral to cut your feet), surfing the beginner friendly waves right out front, riding bikes to the local taco stand, building sandcastles and watching the sun set. The town of Tamarindo is a do-able walk away (take the adorable little boats for hire across the river) if you crave nightlife or a nice dinner... but the solitude and peaceful vibe of Playa Grande made me SOOOO thankful I was staying out and away from the touristy hubub of the town. - House is way bigger than expected, beautiful, airy, and with a whole wall of glass to view the ocean. - Beach is stunning!!! I felt like I was living in a postcard! - BEST thing we did was rent bikes and surfboards from the neighbor... having them the whole time allowed us to go out whenever we wanted, even if it was just for 20 minutes before dinner, etc... plus my landlubber muscles couldn't handle much more paddling than that in any one session anyhow! We cruised by bike to the local hotel/bar for a sunset cocktail many times or up to the market to grab a few items- perfect vacation transportation :) Don't miss out on renting these super fun additions to your trip. Couldn't be happier with our stay- Highly recommended.

This house by far exceeded all of my expectations! It is huge, with lots of kitchen space for 10+ people, and plenty of room throughout the rest of the house as well. The beach is literally two steps out of the big sliding glass doors in the back of the house. Playa grande is a wonderful location, very secluded and quiet. It is a short cruiser bike ride to Tamarindo, which is a larger city with additional amenities. We passed the time learning how to surf. Alan (who lives down by the big rock) rented us surfboards for cheap, and even gave us some great introductory lessons. The waves at this beach are probably the most perfect you could hope to practice on. We rented cruiser bikes from one of the surf shops in Playa Grande. Mireya is the wonderful caretaker of the house. She was always around to help out with anything, and even booked a variety of different activities for us. Although we didn't ask, she also said she was willing to cook meals for us for a small additional fee.
