Here's what people say about the Log Cabin in the Woods:
"We had a wonderfully relaxing time - perfect in all regards. The porch chairs were the perfect addition." ~Judy
"We found everything in good order, and had a very good time in Thurmont. Amazing that you built the whole house yourself!
Thanks for everything!" ~Leendert
"We had the BEST time and the cabin was so comfortable for us. Again, if you'd like any kind of recommendation, please just let me know what format you'd like it in. Also, you can feel free to give my e-mail address out to anyone who'd like a personal reference." ~ Margie
"The cabin was and is amazing. My whole family had a great time and it really made my dad's birthday special. We all can't wait to come back. Thanks again," ~Brian
"We had a great time. There were just the three of us and plenty of room. You must be very proud of putting together a structure like that. I'm pretty handy but I would not tackle something like that. We were lucky enough to have a fire for several nights and then it got very warm. We used your gas grill for steaks one night. Can you believe, we didn't even have time to shoot a game of pool. Thanks again for sharing your cabin and I'm positive we will return." ~Vernon & Elaine
"The cabin was great! We all enjoyed it. My brother-in-law wants to come again by himself to enjoy the solitude without 12 other people there! " ~Rita
"Enjoyed the cabin very much - it's just the type of cabin we'd like to purchase to have for our visits east to see family and friends. If you ever are interested in selling it, please let us know.
Thanks so much," ~Chris & Lisa
It was a great weekend, and the cabin was the perfect place to be. Went to Liberty on Sat. where some did ski, and made a quick trip to the Falls today. Other than that we stayed in and played board games and the kids were playing their TV games. There were a couple of pool tournaments also.
Everything went very nicely, and had a wonderful time. Thank you so much for allowing us to rent." ~Linda and Chuck
"Great HOME!!! We loved staying at your cabin in the woods, it was better then we thought for a bunch of guys to get away from life for a little while. In time we will be re-visiting and recommending your second home.
Thank you again," ~andrew
"The time at the cabin as I said was needed and very pleasurable. We plan to come down again, possibly next year - only with the wives this time. The word has spread about the "cabin in the woods" and you will hear more from us...
Thanks again for a great time!!" ~Steve
"We really enjoyed your cabin and wish to thank you for opening your home to us. We tell people about our relaxing vacation in the cabin at Thurmont.
Thank you." ~Judy
"Hi Dave! We really enjoyed our stay. The group voted to visit there next year as well, so yes, let's convert that deposit into the next deposit. I'll check with everyone about which weekend to reserve and get back to you soon. thanks!" ~dani
"Well your cabin is wonderful. The girls had a great time. We were camping in luxury. Thank you for calling to make sure we were all set up. We loved everything about your cabin,.
Thank you for letting us experience camping in luxury and we hope to come back in the fall possibly."
~Wendy and the Girls from Troop 2037
"What a splendid time we had at the “cabin.” Our whole family, even all the grandchildren, came to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. They treated us like a queen and king all week-end. The cabin is lovely and memorable. Sitting in the swing in the early morning takes you away from the world and helps you connect with God. Thank you for the cabin. May God bless you as you provide the cabin for rest." ~Gilbert and Jeri

Civil War Buffs?? Battles were fought just minutes away. Just a short drive (one hour) from Washington DC and Baltimore, it is a wonderful way to get away from the crowds and stay in one of the prettiest, most rustic mountain areas of the east coast.
If nature is not what you are looking for, there are shopping malls and movie theaters nearby. A few minutes more and you can sightsee at places like Gettysburg, Harper's Ferry, or one of many other great Civil War locations. The Washington Monument and the Baltimore Inner Harbor are just a short drive. We're centered between all of these places. There are three TV's, DVD Player, VCR, CD Players, and Computers. Also, there is a regulation Pool Table, Air Hockey, Foosball, Darts, and more to keep the young at heart entertained. The fully-stocked gourmet kitchen is right next to the Greatroom with a 23 foot tall stone woodburning fireplace and entertainment area. When it's cold outside, there is nothing like a roaring fire in our Log Cabin and there are tons of firewood for your enjoyment. There's even a grate so you can cook like the settlers did (kids of all ages love this). The large porch and grilling deck feature a spectacular view for simply relaxing.

Yes, it really was a terrific weekend for us. I only wish it were a little closer to Philadelphia - or we had been able to stay a little longer. It is a wonderful house for teenagers - even though it rained all day Saturday, they were happy down in the game room with the pool and air hockey. While my daughter and I went to Gettysburg and checked out the Outlets. We'll see how the pictures turn out and I'm sure we'd love to send some. We celebrated my step- granddaughter's 16th birthday there Sat. so maybe there will be some good shots of that. We really loved it - you have created a really special place. I'll never forget it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We had lots of fun at your cabin, the boys really enjoyed themselves in the woods. The woodburning fireplace is great, we just have gas ones here so it was a treat for the kids to see how a "real" fireplace operates. Thanks so much!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a great time at the cabin! The group would like to go again next year about this time, so once we get our act together about the date, we'd like to reserve the cabin again for next year if it is still being rented and is available. Thanks again,Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a great weekend at your cabin this weekend – you were right, that place is quite special. Even with some ugly weather, we managed to have a great time. That house is just awesome. The property, the construction, everything. I know you used Northern White Cedar for the majority of the logs, but what species is the main beam through the center of the home? My guess was spruce or Douglas Fir, but wanted to know for sure just out of curiosity. Thanks! [I emailed it was an Oak Log that came right off of the Cabin Property]Did you find this review helpful? Hello! I just wanted to say that the cabin was amazing. It made our weekend great! I've attached a picture of our group on the way to Ring Dance on Saturday :), and then one of us actually in our uniforms at the dance haha. We had a great time. Thank you again for everything. I'm the redhead in purple. And congrats btw! That's amazing. And you can definitely put the pictures on the site. It was fun reading the guestbook journal thing of a few of the guests from the past. Thank you again for everything.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a great weekend at the Cabin. Please thank your daughter for letting us have this weekend. Everyone decided that they would like to come back to the cabin next year for the reunion. I will figure out the date and let you know! Thanks again, Erin And I'll just echo Erin's statement. This was a great place and we're really grateful to you and your daughter for helping us make it happen! RachelDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
