Carlsbad is a fantastic beach for small children. One of the greatest qualities of Carlsbad is that it is not overly crowded. The beach is clean and has great sand to play in. The water is not to rough; in fact the water is typically pretty shallow for a while before it starts to get deep. Our property is only a short hop to the beach. The address of our property is 140 Hemlock Ave. in Carlsbad 92008. So to get to the beach you would only walk two houses down and cross the Carlsbad Blvd./ Coast Hwy 101 to the beach entrance.

This townhome is very convenient for beach lovers. You can see the ocean from the front door and upstairs deck. The beach is literally just a few steps away. Very easy to carry your beach gear!
Downtown is just a short walk, where you can find restaurants. Walk along the boardwalk or on the sand. Both are great options! It’s also very convenient 5 minute drive to Legoland.
This townhome has a lot of space. There’s a generous living room and dining area. The 2 bedrooms upstairs are pretty big. The master has its own deck and view of the ocean. The second bedroom has 2 double beds; great for families or small groups.

This rental is as advertised- close to the beach. However, the photos of the units on VRBO are misleading and paint a different picture than the actual units. The unit we rented did not look anywhere like the photos and to be candid,the building is older and tired and our unit needed some improvements and TLC. The unit was clean and the owners were helpful but we did not think it was worth the money it cost to stay there for a week. But,apparently from other reviews,other people renting here found it to be adequate but we did not . Perhaps we are out of touch with the California beach rental market. but we are experienced travelers and know what we should get for our money spent. And, after looking around Carlsbad that week, we know that we could have done better for the money we paid. WOW - wonderful hosts, great location, very clean place, great beach accessories - boogie boards, umbrella, chairs for beach; we were very pleased; we stayed in Unit C and there was a place to park; just a few minutes to walk to the beach with our 6 year old (very easy walk for her) ... across street then down steps. Lots of great walking nearby. Most nights we ate in the unit and we could walk to Carlsbad Village for dinner and also dessert some nights. THANK YOU AGAIN!Did you find this review helpful? This week was by far the most relaxing vacation we had as a family in years! The location was off the hook, simply perfect! We packed our stuff and walked across the street. When the kids got hungry I walked back to the condo and grabbed some lunch for us. Our kids did NOT want to come home. What a beaurtiful place, the town is just fantastic. Our family started a new beach week tradition again. When I was little we would stay at Carlsbad and spend a week together as a family. Now we are all grown up and wanted to find the perfect place to restart the tradition for cousins to get together. Unit B was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 2, 5 year old cousins. Our group will probably grow and take up all the units one day, but this year was a complete success and we all had a blast! The condo was perfectly close to steps down to the best beach area in Carlsbad. Even being 9 months pregnant and I didn't feel strained by the steps at all. Jessica made the check in and out easy and everything in the condo made things perfectly functional and accommodating. Clean and comfortable in lovely Carlsbad! Great Value too! Location was perfect distance to beaches at walking distance. Home provided full kitchen items (including coffee grounds), towels and beach toys. Property was clean with very nice smelling towels and linens. The owner's were always available and provided excellent customer service. They helped make our trip more enjoyable by offering discounted tickets. The area was perfect for late night walks to enjoy the great out doors and eating out. Great rental that is as described, clean and steps to the beach. This is was our second stay in this rental and both have been perfect stays. I am a stay at home mom 'my full time job' to my two beautiful children, Matthewmark (4) and Daisy Pearl (1). My second job is taking care of folks like you and our Carlsbad property of 8 years. In everything we do, we enjoy meeting new people! We make friends whereever we go.....to dinner, the park, the movies, the beach, and other social gatherings.
