A very different and highly custom home in the Little Valley Area. Coming in a 250 foot long driveway, you'll find over 3500 square feet in the home on 4 manicured acres, it features pines and a huge grove of Aspen trees bathed in a sea of wildflowers. In the front yard and viewable from the dining room is a spring fed pond with a seasonal stream that cascades over a 400 ton rock waterfall. Trout are stocked for your viewing enjoyment (sorry, no fishing!) This fall we have added a second pond shared with the adjoining property to attract more wildlife.
Because of the intensive use of insulation, stone, and heat mirror windows, the house is incredibly quiet, and we have installed a Miele washer and dryer in the master bath, both for low water comsumption and noise reduction.
Log accents and vaulted ceilings abound. The upper level features 9 skylights, vaulted entry through a handmade mesquite door, living room with wood stove, kitchen with dual fuel range, Speedcook oven, dishwasher, enormous garden window, and distressed hickory cabinets. Of course, almost every kitchen appliance and utensil you could want is there, too. Off the living room is the home theater with seating for three in recliner chairs, and high end audiophile grade 5.1 surround sound system. The 55 inch screen delivers real impact. The theatre is well stocked with DVDs and of course, you can rent more in town.
The master suite has a king bed facing the stone gas powered fireplace, controlled by remote. A 24" Sony TV with its own satellite receiver and remote sits across from the bed. There is a wall of mirrors covering the walk-in closet, and the master bath is a wonder of slate, travertine, and marble, with a rock wall on one side. A vessel sink is framed by two antler sconces. It has an outside exit to the deck, where there is a table for outside dining. This is also accessible from the front door. There is a deck off the living room with great views of the area where the Mountain Man Rendezvous was filmed for "Centennial".
Down the beetle-killed pine spiral stairs to the lower level and you'll find a tiled tour-de-force full bath, a smaller bedroom with a trundle bed, an open queen bed suite with a huge stone fireplace fronted by a solid hammered copper grille, complete with its own 32 inch TV , satellite receiver and remote, and a mirrored exercise room complete with home gym, bicycle on magnetic track stand, and other equipment. Off in its own room currently resides the leather massage chair, ready to ease those stiff muscles from a day of hiking.
This is a project that is constantly in progress so more is being added all the time. The home was professionally decorated by noted designer Janet Prior, and features stone and tile everywhere. Parking for six cars, and RV hookups. Sit out on the porch at night and watch the moon through the quaking leaves of the aspen reflecting in the pond. Solitude, yet only 3.5 miles from downtown Estes Park. There is a door to the master suite but the wall is open across the top. This is an open plan and the privacy comes from being the only bedroom upstairs. Please Note: Absolutely no tobacco products of any kind and we request you leave your shoes in the entryway. Sorry, no pets of any kind, and we have to limit the ages of children to twelve and over due to the high end finish. We are also limited to 6 people total as this is on a septic system. However, for the ultimate luxury stay that does not rival, but exceeds, high end hotels, and for those that appreciate and take care of a fine home, this property has no peer. |
