Want the best? If you are looking for impeccable craftmanship and immaculate cleanliness that is 5 star quality and a cut above all the rest, you've found it! This is the very best! Hand built by the owner with materials from around the world, this 3500 square feet home sits on 4 manicured acres. It features pines and a huge grove of Aspen trees bathed in a sea of wildflowers.
Water feature? In the front yard and viewable from the dining room is a spring fed pond with a seasonal stream that cascades over a 400 ton rock waterfall and flows to a second pond.
Wildlife? Deer, elk, bear, bobcat, raccoon, rabbit, squirrel and birds of all kind frequently drink here.In the past we even had Condors!
With 9 skylights, there is plenty of natural illumination and the massive walls make the home a refuge of solitude. .Log accents and vaulted ceilings abound. The upper level features a vaulted entry through a handmade mesquite door, living room with wood stove, kitchen with dual fuel range, Advantium oven, dishwasher, enormous garden window, and distressed hickory cabinets. Of course, almost every kitchen appliance and utensil you could want is there, too.
Decks: There are two, one in the front and back. The rear deck overlooks the Mountain Man Rendezvous scene from "Centennial." At night, relax and watch the canopy of stars in the velvet sky.
Home Theater: Not a TV with a few speakers, this is a dedicated 5.1 channel audiophile room with high end equipment, acoustically tuned, and recliner chairs for 3. The sound qulity easily exceeds commercial theaters.
Bedrooms: All have luxurious high end mattresses and the finest bedding.
The master suite has a king bed facing the stone gas powered fireplace,a TV with its own satellite receiver and a wall of mirrors covering the walk-in closet.
The master bath is a wonder of stone imported from Greece, India,Mexico,Italy,Brazil and Tennessee with a rock wall on one side. A vessel sink is framed by two antler sconces. This is also accessible from the front deck. The deck off the living room has great views of the area where the Mountain Man Rendezvous was filmed for "Centennial".
Down the beetle-killed pine spiral stairs to the lower level and you'll find a tiled tour-de-force full bath, a smaller bedroom with a trundle bed, and an open luxurious Queen bed suite with a huge stone fireplace fronted by a solid copper grille, complete with its own 32 inch TV.
Off in its own room is another pillowtop Queen bed and leather massage chair, ready to ease those stiff muscles from a day of hiking.
Work it out! There is a mirrored exercise room complete with home gym, bicycle on magnetic track stand, and other equipment.
Sit out on the porch at night and watch the moon through the quaking leaves of the aspen reflecting in the pond. Solitude, yet only 3 miles from downtown Estes Park.
Hiking: Just out the door and up the road to the National Forest, 1 1/2 miles to RNMP, or take the short three mile hike to downtown Estes Park.
Dining: Some of the best dining is close by, and you don't have to fight the traffic to get there.
There is a door to the master suite but the wall is open across the top. This is an open plan and the privacy comes from being the only bedroom upstairs.
Please Note: Absolutely no tobacco products of any kind and we request you leave your shoes in the entryway. Sorry, no pets of any kind, and children TWELVE and over due to the exceptional high end finish and safety issues. We are also limited to 6 people total as this is on a septic system. However, for the ultimate luxury stay that exceeds high end hotels, and for those that appreciate and take care of a fine home, this property has no peer. .

My wife, daughter and myself went to Estes Park to see the fall beauty and to witness the Elk rutting season. We got more than we bargained for and here's why. The Aspen foliage was outstanding. There were more Elk than we had ever seen and they put on a great show. The accommodations here were excellant! This home is set just far enough away from Estes Park yet not to far and the surrounding counrtyside is peaceful and very beautiful. Most mornings when we got up to make coffee you could see deer roaming about which was a nice change of pace from the city. The home is very clean, well maintained with all the comforts and you could tell immediately that a lot of care goes into keeping this property up. We have always enjoyed our trips to this part of the country and when we come back we will certainly look at staying here again!

My husband and I and our daughter and husband stayed in this home for a week in July. I have leased several homes all over the US from VRBO and always had good experiences. The cleanliness and care that this home receives is the best we have observed. We felt like we were the only ones to ever stay there. The Estes area and Rocky Mtn Natl Park is a favorite summer vacation spot. Walking the road in the mornings and meeting neighbors was a treat. We saw deer, elk and plenty of small local wildlife every time we were out and about. And oh yes, did I mention that a mama brown bear and two adorable cubs played ten feet away from us for a few minutes while we were inside eating dinner one evening? I had just told my husband, "this trip will be complete if I can spot a bear" - while we were making dinner and then less than an hour later - there they were. If you are looking for quality, quiet mountain air with great access to surrounding attractions, this is a great choice. We beat the midwest heatwave for a week and are so glad we went. I would love to "hang out here" in the fall some time when the Aspen are turning.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at your beautiful home. Our only complaint...we didn't stay long enough! The home is secluded and private with your closet neighbor being the occasional elk or deer that wanders by. Yet it only takes a few minutes to drive into Estes Park and onward into Rocky Mountain National Park. We drove everyday into the park but were always back to enjoy a wonderful evening sitting on the porch and sipping a glass of wine. It was extremely pleasant and very relaxing. We enjoyed cooking our own meals in the fully equipped kitchen, but also enjoyed a great Italian dinner along the Riverside in Estes Park. The home is equipped with just about any amenity one would need. The home theatre system is incredible and when we had a question about how to operate it, the owners were available immediately by phone and were extremely helpful. This home is very well maintained and the interior reminded us of touring a high-end model home. For anyone looking for a peace and solitude, you can really "get away from it all."

Great Home, Location and Family Time

What a great vacation! The home was absolutely beautiful, clean, cozy and comfortable. It had all the amenities one could possibly need and more, including a movie room. Definitely beat staying in a hotel. The surroundings were very quiet and peaceful. Enjoyed sitting out in the evening cool air on patio chairs while grilling on the gas grill. Had our very own pond with waterfall and frequent visits from elk, deer, chipmunks and two mallard ducks. One morning our son woke up early and looked out the bedroom window and was staring face-to-face with an elk. What an exciting morning and great way to start off your day! We would definitely recommend this home to anyone. The location was great, not far from town and there were plenty of things to do. Take a trip to the Continental Divide, white water rafting in Ft. Collins, horseback riding, fly fishing, shopping, visit the Stanley Hotel for a ghost tour and more. We all loved our stay in this home. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They answered any questions we had and were there anytime we needed assistance. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

We stayed here with the intentions of sleeping there and going into town for the bulk of our trip, once we arrived we ended up only leaving once to go pick up some supplies. It is a beautiful home with breath taking views , the care taker was very helpful when we arrived and we had absolutely everything we needed . We took walks through the snow, saw lots of wildlife, and even though there are neighbors, the house is situated in such a way to give you the feeling of peace and seclusion. We had such a wonderful time and it gave us a chance to remember who we were and why we are still so in love, it's funny to feel like a teenager after all these decade's, but it is also a great feeling. Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful home with us !!

We just spent a week in this lovely home. It is as described. We walked in and felt as if we were entering a upscale model home. Every room was beautifully decorated in a western/rockies motif that was uncluttered and lovely. The stone fireplaces, stone floors, beautiful tile work, hickory cabinetry throughout - all indicated a strong attention to detail and taste. We had spectacular weather - 70s during the day, 50s at night with barely a cloud in the sky. We saw elk, hummingbirds, rabbits, chipmunks and more on the property and much more in the park, including a young moose near the fawn lake trailhead. The large screen tv was great for watching the first round of the world cup - although Elvis seemed a bit incongruous given the rest of the house. In any case, we had a great time and I'd definitely recommend the house and Estes Park. We are from Maryland, and for most of our family, this was our first time experiencing Colorado and the Rockies. It was a memorable vacation in most positive sense. Being able to come back from a long day of hiking to a beautiful home on a beautiful mountainside was wonderful. Our thanks to the owners for offering their lovely home.
Owner response:We try very hard to maintain the highest quality and cleanest vacation home in the area, and appreciate that our new friends enjoy it also. Elvis is in the theater room, where he performs best. Incongrous? Lest we forget, he is the King! Something different in every room to tantalize the guests is our goal. Thanks for the nice comments.

We spent two weeks (end of September) at this outstanding property and it is exactly as described: great rural setting with easy access to town and the national park, beautiful wooded lot, and very high level of finish throughout. Without going to a Four Seasons or a Ritz Carleton resort, you are unlikely to find a "platinum" property like this and, as such, it isn't appropriate for everyone. The investment the owners have made in the home and its furnishings, coupled with their fastidious housekeeping and maintenance, demand a discriminating renter - if your friends compare you to Oscar Madison on "The Odd Couple", this home isn't going to be for you. If you appreciate a tranquil setting, a first class accomomadtion, and have a bit of the "Felix Unger" in your soul (we do), you simply can't find a nicer property in Estes Park. Highly recommended! Feel free to e-mail if you'd like additional feedback.
