  We came across the Azores by pure chance. We had heard of the Islands but had no idea where they were, so we browsed the internet and liked what we saw. Next came where to stay, again back to the net where we kept coming back time and time again to Ed and Bonita's Quinta which looked marvelous. So, decision made we booked the flights .The first contact we had was from Bonita and after a couple of Emails and a personal call from her we new we had made the right choice. Bonita arranged for the taxi to pick us up from the airport and also arranged the hire car as well as a few store cupboard essentials which made the whole experience so easy, we just paid. We stayed two weeks in our holiday home and enjoyed every minute. We toured Sau Miguel , found walks, even a place in Furnace to soak your bones in naturally hot water, we also visited the Tea Plantation and tasted tea.You can whale watch and much more.All of the cottages are wonderful and the grounds are a small paradise where you can relax . We will return and do not hesitate in recommending Quinta das Acacias and our hosts Ed and Bonita Sousa.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

  Thank you for a wonderful month in your park. I found just the peace I wanted to for my writing that was my focus in the stay in the Azores. The house had everything I need and the breaks in the beautiful garden gave me more energy to continue my work when I needed it. This is as far from a commercial place of residence as one can get. You have done much that make guests feel at home and welcome. Thank you. I am thinking about my stay with pleasure and my hope is to coming back another year. See you. Hilde, Norway, April/May 2013

  Imagine your dream vacation, on the island of Sao Miguel in the Portugese Azores a place of lush unspoiled nature and unspoiled cuture. Then imagine living there for over three months (the whole winter!) in which to absorb everything the island has to offer in abundance. My wife and I have just returned home from such a trip and indeed it was the best vacation we have ever had, the icing on the cake was our being fortunate in staying at the Quinta das Acacias which is an island within the island : a lush landscaped oasis of tropical splendor guaranteed to relax and soothe. This was our dream, made real thanks to our hosts at the Quinta Eduino and Bonita who not only gave us insight into places to see and explore but also went out of their way to introduce us to much Azorean culture and ultimately became our friends. If you want a dream vacation (and who doesn't?) Sao Miguel is the place to go and without a doubt I unrervedly recommed the Qunta das Acacias as the place to stay. The best place I have ever stayed in my many travels

  Der Garten der Quinta lädt zum Verweilen ein, in unserem großzügigen Ferienhaus haben wir auch Sturm und Regen gut überstanden. Dank unseren herzlichen und großzügigen Gastgebern Bonita und Eduino haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Danke! Wir waren im November zum Wandern auf São Miguel. Morgens überblickt man von der Quinta aus Wolken und Wetter eines großen Teils der Insel (die Wettervorhersagen sind dagegen unzuverlässig) und kann sich kurzfristig für die beste Wetterseite entscheiden. So kamen wir trotz des an sich instabilen Wetters noch zu traumhaften Ausblicken auf die Lagoa de fogo und die Kraterseen der Westseite.   I don´t know where to start. We´ve had such a wonderful holiday. We came for the whalewatching but there is so much more to the island. After 2 weeks there are many places we still want to visit. We´ve enjoyed bathing in the warm ocean pool at Ferraria and the hot pool in the Terra Nostra garden where these is some very atmospheric planting. The beach at Populo cafe has great food and friendly staff. We´ve enjoyed the tranquility of Ed and Bonita´s gardens and much admired the sculptures. The siamese kitten that visits love to chase long lenghts of grass. We hope to come back very soon and really feel it has been a priviledge to stay here.   Just 10 days we stayed. Time flies...it seems like weeks the way we found our zest! The wonderful gardens the trees with birds and blooming flowers. We were so happy to see the blooming flowers of the Vanilla cactus. Really the queen of the night! The cottage was perfect! The kitchen had all we needed and we had very good nights sleep on the good beds. A priviledge to spend our holiday in one of your cottages.   A ilha de S. Miguel é fabulosa e no meio do imenso jardim que é toda a ilha, encontramos um pedacinho de paraíso, a Quinta das Acácias. Um espaço fabuloso, sereno, tranquilo, limpo e cheio de flores e espaço para descansar da loucura do dia à dia. Um dia voltaremos com toda a certeza.
