Map & Owner's Profile
Fantastic Mountain View-Perfect for Large Groups-Pet Friendly!
Year Purchased: 2005
Why the Owner Chose Franklin
After living in Florida for quite a while, I missed the beauty of being in the mountains. I like the trees, and the views and the cooler weather. I had visited friends who own a home in the same area and loved it so, in 2005 I purchased my mountain house. I am happy to share the beauty and so I decided to make my home a vacation rental.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We enjoy the peace on our quiet, sparsely populated road. The view from the deck is beautiful any time of day. It feels somewhat like being in a treehouse because the house is built on a hill and has many trees surrounding it.
I like quiet mornings on the deck drinking coffee and eating breakfast, taking a stroll with my dog, Gracie, on the rarely traveled road just below the house and sitting on the deck at night gazing at stars or the lights of Franklin below. We take Gracie for hikes right in our subdivision - there is a lake, some streams and a nice waterfall in addition to many, many roads for long walks.
We enjoy going into Franklin for dinner at Cafe Rel, Lucio's or Willy's Bar-b-que. The Dillard House is a short drive in one direction and the Jarrett House is just over the mountain in Dillsboro. Within a short driving distance there are many excellent hiking spots - Glen Falls, Dry Falls, Rufus Morgan Trail and Standing Indian Trail just to name a few. One of the most exciting things about going to Franklin is that we always find something new to see!

Cabin was wonderful! Well stocked and great for large groups of people. Was a quick hop to Asheville, Franklin, Highlands, and a plethora of waterfalls. The view is really lovely! Karla was easy to work with and made the experience a smooth one.

Your house is perfect for our large family get togethers (this was our third stay!). The views are gorgeous. We had everything - well equipped kitchen for our big meals, playing games by the fire in the evening and plenty of space for everyone to sleep. Thanks.
