Our second time at Abingdon Road and it didn't disappoint. Beautiful flat in the best location, everything you need or want is in close proximity. Kitchen W8 restaurant is 10 steps from the front door and is one the best restaurants around and 1 Michellin star.....you have to go the prices are excellent for the superb meal. The flat is spacious and beautiful and very comfortable. The owners were always available if we needed anything.....thanks again Mark & Sophia....we didn't want to come home. The balcony is really a lovely feature too.

Booking process: Mark gave us several options for payment. The easiest pymt option for us was to wire transfer the $ from our Wells Fargo acct directly into his acct. We were a little uneasy about this at first b/c you always hear about scams where you transfer the money and the apartment doesn't exist and you never hear from the owner again. We didn't have any problems. We were in constant communication with Mark the entire time. Flat: This flat is wonderful. My husband and I were fortunate enough to spend 5 days here in December. Our flight arrived into Heathrow an hour early (unheard of, I know) so the flat wasn't ready. We called Mark and he allowed us to drop off our luggage and then recommended a great pub just down the street. The flat was ready when finished lunch and Kris showed us around (she's a lovely young woman). This flat is huge and immaculate. I don't have anything negative to say. Every appliance worked perfectly and the rainfall shower was great. Location: This is a very safe location. I’m a 34yo woman who likes to run early in the morning, so safety is a big concern for me. I felt very safe running at 6am by myself and never had any problems. The flat is ½ block from Kensington High Street. There’s a Waitrose (sp) Market one block away and the Whole Foods Market is a 5-10min walk as is the Tube station. We'll definitely be returning next year and begging Mark to allow us to stay in this flat. I hope this review helps anyone who is thinking about renting this flat.

We have stayed at this apartment twice now and had a wonderful time. The property is clean, modern, well furnished-and well-maintained. The location is perfect for exploring London and shopping. It is in a quiet and pretty neighborhood, close to the shops in Kensington High Street and convenient for both bus and underground. It's also within walking distance of Kensington Park, Hyde Park and many museums and has several good restaurants close by including the Abingdon Arms, a fine restaurant just one block away.

My wife and I spent our 30th anniversary in London. We could not have asked for a more perfect spot to serve as our base for exploring the city. The apartment is only a couple of blocks from the High Street Kensington Underground station and quite close to area pubs and shopping. We especially enjoyed the comfort of the apartment in the evening after a long day of touring! We would highly recommend the apartment and it's location!

The property did not disappoint - we expected a beautifully fitted out apartment in a top location and this is exactly what it was. Mark (the owner) greeted us on our arrival and helpfully explained everything. There were many great features - among them the bed, which was divine to sleep in, and also having the terrace to let in the breeze. Having Foxtel, internet access and free international phone calls also made a difference. The location just off Kensington High Street meant that eating, shopping and getting to the tube station were quick and easy. Would love to stay here again!

As my title review indicates, it was very obvious that Mark and Sophia take great care in making the apartment comfortable for their guests. My husband, 15-year-old son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. After a day of touring London's great sights, we looked forward to returning there to relax and sleep. The terrace was an added bonus, which we made use of when the weather permitted. While we chose not to cook any meals, we did notice that the kitchen was well outfitted with the essentials. We were able to pack light knowing that there was a washer/dryer available to us. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, as was the pull-out sofa according to my son. The bathroom is bright and clean, and the tub has a great rain-shower like ceiling spray, and separate hand spray. Six thumbs up!

We had a wonderful week in London, the only negative being that it came to an end much too quickly. Staying in your lovely flat has been a pleasure. The location is ideal, and you have thought of every detail to make your guests feel welcome, comfortable and "at home." Thank you so much for your gracious and accomodating hospitality.

My husband and I discovered this wonderful flat 4 years ago and have returned each year since. We are so grateful to Mark and Sophia for their graciousness and assistance over these years. The flat is a gem, in a perfect location, and exquisitely comfortable, well-furnished, and a joy to return to after a night at the theatre. As a home base, there are nearby amenities (Waitrose, Whole Foods, a great Lebanese restaurant just around the corner, tube station nearby, and more). Strong Wi-Fi connection, the telephone is an added bonus. We really cannot say enough about this wonderful place. Many thanks, Mark and Sophia!

My husband and I stayed at this lovely flat from October 23-30, 2010. We arrived from the States on an overnight flight and arranged for early morning access to the apartment. After a day of rest, we set out to visit our favorite places in London. We were blessed with many sunny days and had a wonderful time exploring the neighborhood and Kensington. We had one day of rain and it was such a joy to lounge in the solarium with a comfortable throw, a cup of coffee and a good book. The location was perfect for shopping, restaurants, access to transportation, parks, Kensington Palace, Harrod's -- the list goes on and on! Thanks Mark and Sophia for being such wonderful hosts and sharing your lovely flat with us. I can think of only two things that would have made our stay more enjoyable -- more time in London and Jude Law living upstairs! Oh, and did I mention that I'm a 60-year old grandma? :>)

This was by far the best place we have ever stayed -- and we have lived in and traveled extensively in western Europe and the UK. The location, amenities, cleanliness (and I am a freak about that) and quiet neighborhood made us feel as if we were in our own home. We even used the deck, although because of the time of year we bundled up a bit; the wine and ale also helped in that department! We are already planning our next trip to London and will definitely book this gorgeous flat.

Our family of three stayed in this Abingdon Road flat for one week in October of 2010. We loved it. The photos of the property accurately portray the amenities, the location is outstanding and Mark was extremely helpful with all of our questions and with providing suggestions for local restaurants, etc. The flat is beautifully outfitted and our 21-year-old son was more than comfortable on the pull-out couch. The outdoor terrace is a lovely bonus and is not something that is easy to come by when renting a London flat. We used it every evening, both before and after dinner, and thoroughly enjoyed watching London go by while sipping on a glass of wine or beer. There is a great selection of pubs and restaurants in the area and the High Street Kensington tube stop is only a short walk from the flat. Our favourite pub was the one behind the Earl's Court Road police station - it's very busy but it has a traditional atmosphere and the food is very good. We also like 'The Little French Restaurant' at 18 Hogart Place in Earl's Court - great food at a great price. We will definitely stay here again and would recommend this flat to others.

My adult son and I stayed in 15 Abingdon Road for three nights during a very hot spell in early July. The flat was exactly as presented by Mark and Sophia... very comfortable for two (my son on a pull-out in the living room)... nice terrace overlooking the street... very convenient location about 5 minutes walk from High Street Ken tube, and 1 minute from Waitrose grocery store around the corner. I'm sure my wife (who's very particular!) would be more than happy to stay here next time we visit! (But if it's during a heat wave, we'll make sure we set up either the AC unit, or the fan!). Highly recommended. (JD from Toronto)

My husband and I stayed here in January of 2010 and we will be returning for our upcoming London trip in October. It is immaculately clean and close to many wonderful restaurants and the tube. And now its even better with a new bath ! Also the bed is super comfortable. We are very much looking forward to our upcoming stay.

I would recommend this beautiful and spacious flat to any one who wants to be in a great location for tube, markets, shops, restaurants, park, cinema. This flat is clean and the owners are most helpful. We stayed for 2 weeks and having the patio to walk out and relax after being out all day was just perfect for this California couple. The flat was very comfortable for the two of us,and the decor is new and lovely. Great places to eat in the neighborhood plus a Waitrose a few steps away.Perfect!
