SANDPIPER'S NEST is a beautiful, direct ocean front,1650 square foot, single story home on 90 feet of prime beach front property, in South Ponte Vedra Beach, between Jacksonville and St. Augustine!
The charming single family house is situated on a high dune so the ocean is viewed from the main living area, as well as the master suite. SANDPIPER'S NEST is decorated in the pastel hues of a Key West cottage, with plantation shutters, vaulted wood ceilings, and beautiful porcelain tile floors throughout. It is truly a comfortable but luxurious property.
The living area is equipped with a 48" flat screen LCD TV, DVD player, and a Bose radio/CD player. The sofas are comfortable and the big pine dining table easily seats six.The large living/dining/kitchen areas are completely open to each other, making for fun family gatherings. The ocean views from the living area are outstanding.
The kitchen is a galley type, completely equipped for gourmet cooking! Elegant granite counters, side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water on the door; smooth top range, microwave, and dishwasher make preparing meals and cleaning up a breeze. Of course, we supply all the dishes, cooking utensils, and other kitchen amenities you could ever want. Best of all, the kitchen is completely open to the large living and dining areas and to the deck and ocean views beyond!
The master bedroom is 14' X 18', with a king-size bed, sitting area, day bed, TV/DVD, computer center with Dell PC, flat screen monitor, high speed wireless DSL Internet connection, and fax/printer/scanner. The suite also has a private bath with a large soaking tub. The bedroom opens to the oceanside deck!
The "junior" master bedroom is located on the front of the house. It has a queen bed, vaulted wood ceilings, TV/VCR, and a private bath.
The third bedroom is a child's delight, with a bunkbed for three (thanks to a trundle underneath) and its own TV/VCR. A third bath is located in the hall just outside the bunkroom.
The large deck is a great place for family gatherings, with a dining table and chairs for six, several loungers, and extra seating. A short dune walkover leads from the deck right down to the beach. A built in seat at the end of the walkover is a favorite spot for early morning coffee and watching the sunrise.
Our beach is wonderful - sandy, wide, and CAR FREE!!!! Often little tide pools form, which are perfect for toddlers to play in...their own private little ocean! Shells of many kinds and sharks teeth of all sizes are popular with our guests who enjoy searching for ocean trinkets. You can walk for miles in either direction, swim, surf, or fish.
Others may prefer to lie back in a sand chair and watch the dolphins play, the sandpipers scurry up and down the tide line, and the wonderful pelicans flying overhead in strict formation. Whatever your reference.. .walking, surf fishing, sunning, reading, snoozing, dreaming, swimming, or surfing... you will find the opportunities perfect on our quiet, almost private beach!
Other important amenities at Sandpiper's Nest include central air and heat, ceiling fans in every room, a gas fireplace for our winter guests, two complete laundry centers, landscaped yard, double garage, wireless and wired Internet connection, and a soft water system.
Many of our guests like to take advantage of the optional tenant membership to the Serenata Beach Club, a wonderful facility located just 1.5 miles south of Sandpiper's Nest. The Club offers structured activities for kids, several dining venues, work out room and spa, indooor and outdoor bars, rentals of kayaks and other large beach toys, and 3 huge pools! We can provide you with the details regarding membership.
SANDPIPER'S NEST is located in an area of private homes, so the beach is seldom crowded. However, the house is just six miles north of downtown historic St. Augustine, "America's Oldest City", and a delightful destination for children and adults alike. St. Augustine boasts many attractions, water and buggy tours, museums, great restaurants, and lots of fun shops. Ponte Vedra, a resort area, is a 15 minute drive to the north; this casual community is a great place for shopping and dining, as well as great golf!
Other easy destinations include the World Golf Village (20 minutes), Daytona (one hour), Disney World (two hours), or the Kennedy Space Center (two and a half hours). But our bet is that you will choose to spend the vast majority of your vacation swimming, playing on the beach, gathering shells and shark's teeth, watching the dolphins frolic, the pelicans dive, and reading on the deck of delightful SANDPIPER'S NEST. You will love the house so much, you won't want to leave!

Why the Owner Chose South Ponte Vedra Beach
I bought Sandpiper's Nest in South Ponte Vedra Beach, because it was less than a half hour drive from my regular home, making it the ideal weekend retreat. I started renting it immediately, to help with the mortgage payments, and found that my renters also found South Ponte Vedra to be a very special community. It is perfect for vacationers who want direct oceanfront, great views, and privacy. Sandpiper's Nest sits on a 90 foot wide lot, on top of a high dune, offering panoramic ocean views. The immediate area consists of single family homes, several great restaurants, a terrific beach club (available as an option to our renters who want a pool!)and miles of wide, sandy, car-free beaches. Our renters come here because they love the privacy and the fact that we are not surrounded by high rise condos, fast food restaurants, bars, hordes of people vying for space on the beach, or cars driving on the sand! However, we are not isolated! Sandpiper's Nest is just 10 minutes from historic St. Augustine and 15 minutes from posh Ponte Vedra. We think we have the perfect beach location!

Hi there! I am Judy Lombana Wren, owner (with my husband Bill) of Sandpiper's Nest, manager of several other oceanfront properties, retired university professor and mental health therapist, wife, mom, grandmother, and friend! Bill (a retired airline pilot) and I live in Jacksonville, Florida and Maggie Valley, NC. I have been involved with with the ocean, beaches, homes, decorating, and people all my life. Sandpiper's Nest is our very special oceanfront home in which we take great pride and enjoy sharing with others. We hope you will love it as much as our previous renters do!
I have been renting Sandpiper's Nest since I first bought it brand new in 1987. At the time, it was a two bedroom, two bath cottage on a fantastic oceanfront lot. Bill and I completely renovated the home in 1993, taking it to the studs, opening it more to the views and adding another bedroom and bath. It looks brand new because we are ALWAYS working on it...very important on the ocean! We bought two more oceanfront homes a few years later, and others starting asking me to manage their properties, so my rental "hobby" quickly turned into a business. My son, David Lombana, has joined me in Wren Beach Rentals, and we now manage 14+ luxury oceanfront properties in South Ponte Vedra and Vilano Beach. We take great pride in our solid relationships with both owners and renters, and we look forward to working with you!

This is the first time that our family has rented a beach house as part of our annual Christmas break vacation. We absolutely loved both the house itself and the location on the beach. Since it is set back a bit from the beach, we had privacy when sitting on our back deck. The to walk down the back steps and have the ocean right at our feet was great. Falling asleep to the repetitive sound of the waves is priceless. Grocery shopping was a bit of a treak away but we noticed a new Publix store was just about to open when you first enter St Augustine. This will be much appreciated for those that follow. The photos on the web site are totally accurate. We have been to destinations in the past where this is not always the case. We had an issue with the fireplace upon arrival. It was looked after once our concerns were accurately communicated to the owner. We took a boat excursion for a 4 hour fishing experience from Walker Charters in St Augustine. Best 4 hours of fishing that all of us have ever done. Extremely polite and personable and able to take us to where the fish were biting. Highly recommend it! Overall fantastic experience that we would reccomend to anyone looking for a beach house in the St Augustine/ Ponte Verda area.

Sandpiper's Nest was an ideal ocean front house for our vacation. Located in a non-commercial area of S. Ponte Vedra Beach, the property had great ocean vistas from the living areas and master bedroom, easy access to the beach from the large deck, up to date technology (WiFi, cable and flat screen televisions), bright pastel colors and a beach cottage themed decor. The house was comfortably furnished and extremely well maintained. The kitchen was very well equipped, even if you wanted to prep an elaborate dinner "at home" given all of restaurants in the area offering fresh seafood and a variety of cuisines. The open floor plan is great for relaxing and entertaining. The garage helped to keep sand and salt off of our car and stored all of the supplied beach chairs and toys as well as an additional washer and dryer. The owners were very responsive to questions we had were willing to immediately address and resolve an issue with a water softener. Recreational opportunities abound from long beach walks, boating, kayaking and other water activities, golf, bicycling (A1A has a bike lane), and visiting historical St. Augustine. The Guana preserve offers naturalist led excursions. Our dogs loved their beach walks and chasing sea birds into the surf. We will definitely return to the Sandpiper!

My wife and I stayed for a week in this gorgeous beach house in South Ponte Vedra Beach and it was incredible! The house itself is very nice; neat and clean. Our dogs loved playing on the beach everyday; which we had pretty much to ourselves. House is in a perfect location, close to St. Augustine, Daytona, etc. I would book this house again if we find ourselves vacationing in Florida.

The pictures really don't do Sandpiper's Nest justice. The house was clean, organized and very well stocked. It lacked nothing......right down to the beach towels, spices, beach chairs, food wrap, laundry detergent and so much more. All you need to do is bring your clothes. The area is quiet and the beach is nearly secluded......heaven on earth. The beaches are spotless and you can walk barefoot for miles. Loved it, loved it. My husband and I (and our two canine kids) thoroughly enjoyed our week in South Ponte Vedra Beach and at Sandpiper's Nest. The house was equipped with everything we needed to enjoy a carefree and relaxed vacation: ocean front views, the sound of surf right over the dunes, a very well appointed kitchen, effortless check-in and check-out, plus too many other little details to mention. Amazing! The house had everything you need for a week's vacation and is very functional from a space/living perspective. The view and access to the beach is fantastic. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. We also purchased a membership to the Seranata Beach Club as we had younger children (ages 6 and 8) who we thought may need more activities, but, we ended up going only once the entire week. They were very happy playing on the beach, collecting shells, etc. I would recommend planning meals in advance as the grocery store isn't close enough for a 'quick trip', however it looks as if there will be a new Publix built close by and will have easy access to the house. I would recommend this property without hesitation!

However, as these renters discoverd, the beach itself is wide, safe and a great place for little ones to make sand castles, play in the tide pools, and find shells, so you may not want to stray far from the house.

This amazing Ponte Vedra Beach house offered a charming atmosphere and a quiet serenity with all the amenities. The home is beautifully decorated and offered us a relaxing atmosphere for our month long stay. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrises from our deck that allowed us easy access to the beach for fishing, walking ,biking and watching the dolphins and shore birds. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the nation's oldest city with the cobblestone streets, Spanish colonial architectures, shopping and wonderful dining destinations. We had a terrific stay at Sandpiper's Nest for a week in October. The house is extremely updated, decorated perfectly for that beach get away zone out time and has every item (from kitchen to entertainment to wireless internet) that anyone could ever desire. It was spotless when we arrived. Linens are provided (beach towels too!) as well as a gas grill, starter paper products, books, DVDs, beach chairs. A fabulous view is also included in the deal. We will be BACK!

Sandpiper's Nest is a beautiful beach cottage. Our occupants consisted of my elderly parents, my husband, myself and our small dog. When we first walked into the house, we fell in love with it. The house is decorated in a charming beach theme. The house has every comfort of home. I have never stayed in a cleaner beach rental. The view of the ocean from the living area and master bedroom took our breath away. My parents have mobility issues, and they enjoyed the ease provided by the one story house. They spent many hours on the spacious deck reading books and watching the surf. There was ample room for 4 adults and a small dog to spread out and have our own space. The beach is beautiful. It is wide and clean, and expands as far as the eye can see in any direction. We explored St Augustine, ate at great restaurants, fished, took long beach walks. We enjoyed eating breakfast and occasional dinners on the ocean front deck. What could be better? This was our first visit to the South Ponte Vedra Beach and St. Augustine area. It won't be our last. I look forward to future stays at Sandpiper's Nest.

Our stay at Sandpiper's nest was extraordinary! Sandpiper's nest is such a lovely, comfortable, and cozy home, and the attention to creature comforts afforded by our hosts was wonderful! Our vacation was enhanced by the warmth and feel of this home. Its proximity to the beach meant members of our group could easily come and go as they pleased. The deck offered many wonderful evenings of outdoor relaxation, in view of the sand and surf. The fact that the beach is realtively private, and thus not at all crowded (even on the weekends) made our stay even more enjoyable. A short car ride into town offered all anyone could offer by way of easy access to great restaurants, activities and sight-seeing. Yet, you simply never felt cheated just "being at home." I would highly recommend this property to anyone--and will definitley be going back!
