This luxury condominium located in the popular Tahoe-Donner area of Truckee, California will leave you feeling like you have checked into a five-star resort that has all the comforts of home. The convenient location gives you easy access to several world-class ski resorts such as Squaw Valley USA, Northstar-at-Tahoe, Alpine Ski Resort, Sugarbowl, and Boreal. On your doorstep is historic downtown Truckee which boasts superb restaurants, and a chic shopping district. Lake Tahoe itself is only 16 miles away.
Built in 2003, this condominium displays designer furnishings and appointments. The bedrooms feature luxurious mattresses, down pillows, and elegant linens. Two bedrooms each have a queen bed, and the third guestroom has two twin bunkbeds. An inflatable queen bed can be set up in the family room to accommodate two more guests. The gourmet kitchen has a gas range, granite countertops, dinnerware for twelve, and cookware for the gourmet chef. The dining area seats eight comfortably, and along with the cozy family room, looks out onto the secluded greenbelt of majestic pine trees. The family room features a thermostat-controlled fireplace and subdued lighting.
Enjoy a DVD or Blu-ray movie on the super surround sound system, or choose a tranquil evening with a book by the fire. On hand are an extensive collection of family games and puzzles, and a library of DVDs, paperbacks, and children's books. The deck has a gas barbecue available for year-round use and a relaxing seating area. DSL is also available for internet access, as is a wireless printer and fax machine.
As a guest in our condo you have access (for a small fee) to the extensive amenities Tahoe-Donner has to offer. These include an 18-hole championship golf course, a brand new state-of-the-art fitness center which boasts a year-round lap pool and several Jacuzzis. Tahoe-Donner has its own ski resort with miles of cross-country trails and a great ski school for the kids. In summer you can relax at the private beach club and marina on Donner Lake where you can rent kayaks, sailboats, canoes, peddle boats, and windsurfing equipment. There is also an equestrian center and extensive hiking trails.

I arrived with my two teenage kids and the pines were green and it was raining. We woke up to see a perfect white winter wonderland. This condo was comfy, modern, clean and spacious. Convenient location, close to stores, close to all the ski resorts (I recommend Sugarbowl for best bang for the buck). Thanks so much, I love VRBO and the opportunity to stay somewhere like this!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Loved the condo! It was homey with a great kitchen and set up perfectly for two families. The TV was great in the living room which was important because it was an amazing football weekend - way to go Niners! The two large comfortable couches and warm cozy fireplace were perfect and the large table was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed seeing the four teenage boys in the twin bunks and playing some of the many games and puzzles at the table. We barbequed on the patio, and what a beautiful view! We would definitely rent this condo again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We stayed here over New Year's weekend and were very happy with this cozy condo. It is well appointed, with comfortable furniture and beds and pretty much everything you could ever need in the kitchen. The pots and pans are even high quality, unlike many rentals. Unfortunately, there was no snow, but we plan to come back when there is. The owner is very responsive and helpful, and she let us bring our small dog. We highly recommend this condo!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We stayed here over Labor Day and had a wonderful time. The condo was just right for our 2 families of 4 each. The kids loved the bunk room, and the 2 adult bedrooms were very comfortable. The condo was well stocked and we enjoyed cooking in the roomy kitchen. The weather was perfect and we sat out on the deck a lot, and barbequed too. The only thing we would recommend is a coffee grinder :) , and better outdoor lighting- we arrived at night and it was very hard to see the condo #'s on the buildings. We didn't use any of the amenities like the pools or hot tubs as we ran out of time. We did try to use the private beach, but it was just too small of a beach that was over-crowded on the holiday weekend. Maybe next time. We would definitely recommend this condo- the price was right and the free night was an awesome selling point. Hope to be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+.

We stayed here with another family of four and it was the perfect layout and location for our little getaway. The kids (two aged 7, and two aged 4) had so much fun in the bunk bed room and had a blast playing in the ample snow just outside the condo. Everything was on one level and on ground level, so there were no icy stairs to climb to the front door. We cooked all our meals in the well stocked kitchen. The Tahoe Donner sledding area was closeby and it was nice to get a discount using the cards in the condo. All in all, a clean, comfortable, cozy place to stay, with a nice owner who was easy to communicate with. Thanks!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

We rang in the New Year at this wonderful cabin and had a GREAT time. We felt like we were living in our home. The condo has great furniture, comfy beds, and a wonderfully stocked kitchen. The location of the condo was perfect- tons of snow just steps from your backdoor. I would agree with another reviewer on the snow-plow, ours came by at 3 AM. All in all, we couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and wonderful weekend, and can't wait to come back-thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We had great time at the cabin. The photos show exactly how it is. It's very well maintained and clean. It's close to the ski and snowplay area. The owner is very helpful and organized. We love it and hope that we'll return in future.Recommended for: Families with young children.

We had such a wonderful time at this condo!! It truly has a chef's kitchen and had everything we needed to make a perfectly delicious thanksgiving feast. The home was cozy and had the perfect layout for our group. Our family had a blast and will absolutely be staying here again! Jane was so wonderful and responded to emails within hours. It was nice to have an attentive owner give you lots of details before going to the property. My husband loved that there was a garage to park the Tahoe in while we were there. The only downside I felt was the snow-shoveling machine at 5am one morning right outside our window. But, we did have a huge snowstorm that night, and it doesn't have anything to do with the condo itself, it was the maintenance crew. :-) All-in-all we had a marvelous time and will definitely be back in 2011!Recommended for: People with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My husband and I along with a family of four enjoyed a three day weekend at this property in February. We have rented properties in the Tahoe area for four years and this is the only property that we will return to. The layout of the condo complex allows for privacy in the rental unit and the amenities inside are just what you are looking for. Nice furniture, plenty of kitchen supplies for making meals, games for the kiddos and a real sense of ‘home.’ The best part of the property is the backyard…we were able to play in the snow from the comfort of the backyard of the unit. No need to drive anywhere and pack up all the gear, we were able to walk 50 feet from the front step and enter our own winter wonderland. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a clean, cozy and comfortable place to enjoy a weekend getaway.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

About the owner: We are a family of 4 who just love our condo. We come up as often as we can and invite family and friends to join us.
Why the Owner Chose Tahoe Donner:
We picked Tahoe-Donner because it is so family friendly. Our condo was the best one of the development as far as we were concerned because it has not stairs (easier with kids) and it backs to the greenbelt.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Our property is nicer than our home in Napa. We just love spending family time up here, and we are so glad we picked a place that is big enough to invite another family of 4 or 5 to join us. We use the private beach and the pools all summer, and have a great time skiing in the winter as we are so close to so many ski resorts.
