Casa Avelina: Beautiful Adobe Home Btwn Taos & the Ski Valley

Casa Avelina is a beautiful adobe home in the Los Altos subdivision in Arroyo Seco, on the way to Taos Ski Valley. Enjoy the comfort of adobe living: warm in the winter and cool in the summer, with majestic sunsets, sunrises, and breathtaking mountain vistas.
Nestled in the charming village of Arroyo Seco, Casa Avelina is a short drive from both the Taos Ski Valley and Taos plaza. Enjoy winter skiing & snowboarding and summer hiking in the Sangre de Cristos, river rafting on the Colorado River, hiking and fishing in the Rio Grande Gorge, horseback riding, and cultural festivals and the casino on the Taos Indian Pueblo. Enjoy Taos' culinary artistry, art galleries, theatre, and community activities. Come home after a full day and relax in the hot tub with inspiring views of Taos Mountain and New Mexico sunsets. Or go for a swim or steam bath at the Los Altos clubhouse and pool.
Built in the traditional adobe style, 10-ft. ceilings with vigas, kiva fireplaces, and tiled floors, Casa Avelina features southwest furnishings and artwork by local artisans. The kiva fireplaces in each bedroom and the great room, with candles for the summer months, provide a romantic and cozy setting for couples. The spacious rooms, extra sleeping accommodations, and large kitchen make Casa Avelina a great place for families with children. The main bedroom features a king-sized bed with a full-sized futon and private bath; the second bedroom includes a queen-sized bed. The large third bedroom includes a queen-sized bed, a twin daybed and twin trundle, and the queen sofa in the great room can accommodate two more guests.
Casa Avelina is also an ideal retreat location, a place to slow down and find spiritual rest and renewal. Named after my mother, who descends from the original Spanish settlers and Native Americans in what is now New Mexico, Casa Avelina is dedicated to her memory, her great stories, and her keen sense of humor.

This property was described very well and the location was excellent. The photos reflected the appearance of the property as we found it upon our arrival. It was very well maintained, stocked with supplies and the cleanliness was top notch. The owner was very helpful with any questions we had. I would recomment this property as a great place to stay when in the Taos area. Our family would definitely return again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.

Our family (8 people) had a great reunion at Casa Avelina over Thanksgiving. Home is very comfortably furnished (not too fancy). Location is very convenient.....15 minutes into Taos. Be sure to try the icre cream at the Toas Cow in Arroyo Seco!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
