This property is in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, 20 minutes from the northwest Calgary city limits approximately 50 minutes from the airport. It is less than 25 minutes to the beauty of the Kananaskis and only 45 minutes to Banff National Park.

You can hike or bike endlessly on the property and surrounding area itself or in just a a short drive be in the city of Calgary. With the Kananaskis only 30 minutes away and Banff less than a 60 minute drive, you can venture west and enjoy mountain hiking, biking or skiing and then return to the peace and solitude of your private ranch.

Additional outdoor activities are only a short drive to Kananaskis or Banff.... Float down one of North America's top fly-fishing rivers, the Bow River. Cross-country ski in the tracks of the 1988 Olympic athletes... Hike the spectacular Johnston Canyon... Take a mountain tour by horseback or mountain bike or take an afternoon to visit the famous Lake Louise Inn, the Columbia Ice Fields, or the Banff Hot Springs. You are located in the Foothills only a short drive from the heart of the Canadian Rockies.

The house has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms including a jetted tub in the master bath, a fully-equipped modern kitchen, and living room complete with stereo, satellite television, and VHS. There is also a double futon in an upper level loft for additional sleeping accommodations. The ranchhouse sits on 82 acres,laced with innumerable walking and mountain biking trails. The front deck faces west and is equipped with a gas barbecue for enjoying the beautiful sunsets over the Rocky Mountains. The house is fully furnished with all you need for your home away from home.

Ten minutes east of the property you find the quaint town of Cochrane, Alberta. Another ten minutes east and you reach the northwest city limits of Calgary, Alberta, with all the amenities a large cosmopolitan city offers. The mountains are in your western backyard. Within 20 minutes you are in Kananaskis country and the start of some of the world's best hiking, downhill, and cross country skiing. Kananaskis is the gateway to Banff National Park and the Rocky Mountains where you will find beautiful wildlife and wildflowers in the summer and five major ski resorts to enjoy in the witner months. Less than five kms away from our door is a riding ranch where you can travel the foothills on horseback and enjoy nature at its best.

Set admidst western ranching country in one of the most stunning locations in Alberta, this foothills hideaway is guaranteed to be a place you will want to return. You may be visited by some of the wildlife that live in the area; the wild female moose who is known to wander the property, sometimes with her calves or the deer, fox or coyotes that roam the property. Golden and bald eagles migrate through the valley and can often be seen hunting prairie gophers.

If you want to bring your pets, this is the place to come to. Dogs, cats and horses welcome.
