Corsican trip
We were two families, 7 people in total, who stayed at the villa. Communication with the owner before and during our trip was excellent, very responsive. The property manager met us timely and was available after for questions/issues. The home has a lovely pool and view of the mountains which was definitely the best part of our stay. It is also close to a beach which you can walk to. Our main issue was the lack of cleanliness. There was a lot of dust, cobwebs and the fridge, cabinets etc were not cleaned well. Plus the home is in need of a paint job because the walls are stained. I shared all of this information with the owner and sent pictures as well. She responded and asked the property manager to come and take a look. He came and tried to clean a bit more but it really is just superficial as the home needs a very deep cleaning.
There were a few, dusty, fans in the 2 bedrooms and living room where there is no AC but it wasn't enough considering how hot it was. We had to purchase 2 additional fans ourselves.
You have to pay for linens, which we did, and it's not cheap at 18 Euros a person. The bed sheets and towels were pretty old, didn't match and were not even put on the beds for us. We had to do it. Also, none of the bathrooms had any soap so we had to buy all that. If you are going to charge each renter for these items you should at least have decent quality items. We ended up buying some towels ourselves so as not use the stained ones.
After my feedback, the owner said she was going to purchase a new fridge and install additional AC units. All great but something that should have happened long ago. If the home is not brought into better condition and cleaned well I don't think renters would come back in the future. I have rented many times and this home was definitely the only one I felt like I didn't want to sleep in.
I hope changes are made so that future renters can enjoy the lovely view and outdoor space.
