I just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time at your home this past week. We caught 14 large crabs (we threw back twice that amount) and had a wonderful and relaxing time. Your place is really a perfect blend of beach and comforts of home. I think being on the canal affords many more opportunities for recreation than beachfront. Thanks again for the use of Sea Glass.

We had a super time at Sea Glass and working with the owner was very positive. I'm a detail person and I liked that a check list was provided when we arrived so I could note that the home was exactly as advertised. When leaving we did the same. While lengthy the lease covers everything so up front we understood the process. It's a large home that offers various "spaces" for people of varying ages. The dock and pool and easy walk to the beach offers something for everyone. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: it was a pleasure to have you in my home. I'm glad everyone in your family found a"place to enjoy" at the Sea Glass. I hope the crabbing was fun for you! My staff was very happy you left the house in such fine order. It really helps! Please come back again!

On behalf of all 16 members of the three generations of our family who enjoyed "Sea Glass" last week, we would like to compliment you on the property and the high standards you have followed in furnishing and maintaining it. Six grandchildren ranging in age from 7 to 19 had plenty to do. The varied group of adult couples had plenty of places in which to socialize. The kitchen was stocked with equipment and utensils better than any of us had seen before in a rental. We launched 3 kayaks and an inflatable dinghy from the dock and a Boston Whaler in Lewes, and used them all -- usually at high tide. The easy walk or ride to the ocean beach was probably the most often enjoyed asset. Your salt water pool was so convenient and inviting that no one ever got to the North Shores community pool. Para Sailing and Hobie Cat rentals nearby were a big hit, as was the boardwalk in Rehoboth (at least for the younger folk). All in all, it made for a great vacation! Your caretaker was way beyond pleasant and helpful, both when we checked in and when we were checking out. He is a real asset.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: Once again, I want to thank you for taking such good care of the Sea Glass. Nice to see your group took advantage of the many activities handy to the Sea Glass and North Shores. I love the pool too! Be sure and bring everyone in your clan back next year! My staff is dedicated to seeing you have a great time...they are the Best!

June 2012 Dear Joan, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your place with the Clan this past week. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed Sea Glass! Thanks, too, for sending over the towels! I had all of the sheets figured out ... but other than 2 beach towels, somehow forgot bath towels. Thanks so much for covering my backside on that. The onsite pool was super and our youngest grandchild who is 4, truly learned to swim last week. She started with the little swimmy things on her arms - but by the 3rd day - looked like a fish. The transformation was so much fun to watch and she had a blast - along with her two sisters who are 6 & 8. The last day even the older kids and adults got into the fun of it and were having a few underwater contests of their own. It was so great!!! Dick and I stayed in the lower level suite - and that worked out very well - as we often turned in earlier than our kids! Again, we loved our week at Sea Glass and it worked for every age level. Gratefully, The ClanRecommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: Glad the Sea Glass was so good for your family...sounds like everyone young and old enjoyed their vacation. Let me know if your young swimmer continues....I love hearing back from my guests!

Our family must have followed "curley, east coast" and we agree completely with their review. Sea Glass is wonderful and the owner and her staff even more wonderful! Our family of 12, 2 grandparents, 3 children and their spouses and 4 grands (10, 3, 17 months and 11 months), were at Sea Glass to celebrate grandpa's birthday. The beautiful home and grounds and pool and beach and the owner's special efforts preparing for us only hours after Irene's departure made our celebration just about perfect. We can't wait to return for grandma's birthday!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: Please come back to celebrate anytime! Irene was NO Match for my team. I will pass your kind words on to my loyal staff...they are exceptional. Thanks again for making your memories along the "quiet end" of coastal Delaware!

my extended family ranged in age from 5 weeks to 68 years old. There was something for every age group to enjoy in the area. The pool was a wonderful benefit, especially on the days over 100 degrees when the beach sand was too hot! Catching crabs off the dock with the crab "basket" was fascinating for the cousins ages 9 to 11 and a few adults as well. It was an educational experience as the children had never seen a real crab or tasted one. As soon as the chicken leg was put in the basket, and lowered into the water, the crabs started crawling in. What fun! Many warm memories were made that week!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: Thanks Linda, I'm thrilled you enjoyed the pool & the wonders of coastal life at the Sea Glass! The crab pots are always fun for everyone. Please come back anytime! Thanks for leaving the house spotless!

My family --ten of us including five children --had a wonderful week at Sea Glass. The house was everything it was billed as, and more! What we specially enjoyed were (1) the superbly comfortable couches and the delightful breezes when sitting on the porch. For the smaller children, the comfortable nooks and crannies upstairs were a delight --and the adults appreciated each having our own bathrooms!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks for visiting the Sea Glass...I have to agree the porch is my favorite part of staying home! The kids always seem to find those special places designed just for them at the Sea Glass. You are welcome back anytime!

We just returned from a lovely Labor Day family vacation at Sea Glass. The house is wonderful for large family gatherings with lots of space for visiting and eating inside and out, a beautiful, well-stocked kitchen, and comfortable sleeping arrangements. We had six small children who had a fabulous time on the dock fishing and crabbing, swimming in the pool and playing on the beach, just a 5 minute walk away. The owner could not have been more helpful and accomodating to ensure that we had a good stay. I would highly recommend Sea Glass!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 8/9

About the owner: A place where the sun and the sand and the sea meet. My dream was to live within earshot of the waves and watch my children play and grow up in this special place. I have wonderful memories of my family catching crabs on the dock and playing in the surf of North Shores. The Historic twin WWII gunnery towers and Cape Henlopen are a short sroll up the Beach. Now it is time for me to share this expereince with others. Come to Sea Glass and expereince my kind of peace and quiet!
Why the Owner Chose Rehoboth Beach:
There is a history here..a lovely home was on this site when I bought the house. I fell in love with the location just north of the Boardwalk and just south of Gordon's Pond, the Cape Henlopen and the Historic Towers. Wide uninhabited stretches of beach, a wildlife preserve and miles of natural waterways sold me on this special place. By September my family finally stayed in our "NEW" house at the beach! Shortly after we explored the house..my son became sick. We found out later he was allergic to the house. It took just a few weeks to decide what to do. I met with several contractors who just told me to demolish the house..I had no part of that and contacted a HOUSE MOVING company. In the end the house was donated to create Delaware's first Habitat for Humanity... the house was to became a home for someone else and we broke "Sand" for a new house in December ...by the next May..we welcomed our first guests to our new home. Just in time for the Summer!!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
A unique benefit of a stay at Sea Glass..is the sense of being so removed from the world. You can get lost watching the harbor and the heron from your bedroom or the porch, enjoy the towering pine lined street, picking up shells and bird watching or wading in the water. Perfect setting for your friends & family vacation. Solitude is tough to find in a resort community..you will find it here!
Rehoboth is a Jewel of the Atlantic. A few hours from 3 majoyr cities..the quaint cottages, stately Beach homes new and old, wonderful resturants, concerts , community activites and shopping are set against the backdrop if gardens and tree lined streets of this retreat community. It is unlike any coastal town in the enitre North Atlanic.
In the off season it isn't uncommon to see a rare albino deer walking down the road to the beach! For just a day here will change your outlook.. Nature's gift of Peace and Quiet..except for those beautiful waves crashing on the beach.
