Thanks Debbie--Not only was our stay wonderful but we couldn't have asked for more accomodating hosts. You truly showed that your number one goal was making sure our stay was enjoyable. The fishing was a big plus. If we decide to take another vacation on Tybee please be assured it will be with you! We will also be happy to highly recommend you to anyone who is looking for a place to stay on Tybee. Feel free to use us as a testimonial. Thanks again! Greatfully, Brooks, Donna and family

I needed a one night stay on beauitful Tybee while visiting Atlantic Beacon Gallery and Debbie was very inviting & friendly, she just happened to have that night open! Yeah a night on Tybee Island. This is a treasure place to find, clean, bright, roomy with a very comfortable bed. I stayed in unit no. 2 , love the yellow doors, a three bedroom comfy cottage, filled with light in the afternoon. I felt my belongings and car very safe as it sits back off the road, a little place unto it's self. I like to walk or bike ride, this is just far enough I get my exercise in! I was also looking for a peaceful nature stay as well, in the morning I could hear the distant beach waves & the wind in the pines ahhhhhh. .Another treasure is the short walk behind the cottage to the creek where fishing & crabing or setting by a fire adds joy to the adveturere in me Plus quite a sunset view!.As I take my am stroll a cute wild bunny rabbit just sat and watched :) I can see my self taking my Kayak next time. Debbie and Mark are two of the nicest people on this planet. Overall I will use this as my main stay place, I like the easy southern charm & friendly faces. I highly recommend checking this place out to my adventure & Tybee seeking friends.
Owner response:Wonderful review, who could ask for more! So delighted to hear such sweet sentiment, and a genuine rave review from Tina about our place! We love it, so glad that she did, too! No need for a car, walk or bike anywhere! Bring your own bicycles, or eithr of the two great beach bike rental companies on the island will deliver rental bikes straight to your door! It really is a little piece of heaven! Ya'll come, take your shoes off - get a little sand between your toes and stay awhile! The Tybee Dockside in and Tybee Beach, its THE place to be :)

What a beautiful setting! We enjoyed crabbing off the dock every day; and loved the short walk to the beach. We all loved the sunsets over the creek; and a few of us got up early to enjoy the sunrises over the beach, too. Even when it's hot, hot, and still, there's a beautiful breeze at the Dock House. The Kingfish unit was very clean, comfortable, and well stocked with any type of dish or pot we needed. It was great for boiling up all those crabs! What a ball; we'll definitely be back. We hightly recommend the Tybee Dockside Inn on Horsepen Creek!
Owner response:Our guests love the clean and cozy Kingfish unit, with all the comforts of home! And the Tybee Dockside Inn is the perfect location; crabbing off the dock, or shelling at the beach! Definitely no need to hastle with the car! And, the views - sunsets over the creek, or sunrises at the ocean - Key West has nothing on us! Come on and join us; you're gonna love it!

My husband, our four-year-old son, and myself had been planning this vacation for almost a year and I have to say, it was better than we could've imagined! Some things were not as I had imagined, but I had never been on THAT side of the country ( we live in south Louisiana). We were made to feel at home immediately, and Debbi, knowing we had travelled over 12 hours to get there, called us just as we were getting into Savannah to tell us she had made arrangements for us to get in the house early so we could rest! How welcomed was that news! We will definitely be back as soon as we can! If a family vacation--- one without bells and whistles--- is what you are looking for, complete with a park just down the street, bikes to ride to the beach ( a few blocks STRAIGHT down the street), and wonderful people that smile and greet you like they are glad to share the neighborhood, then this is the place to go! Hope you love it as much as we do!
Owner response:Always wonderful to hear that our guests, who become fast friends, are thrilled and anxoius to come back! Guests enjoy the comforts of home in the Kingish Unit, and love the rustic atmosphere of the dockhouse, where the Breeze is eternal! And the fun just never ends on the dock and in the creek! A quick walk or bike ride to the beach, and just a few blocks away to a great play ground for the kids; it's the perfect laid back, island destination get away vacation! We love seeing our guests return as friends again and again, year after year!

This place is an awesome family getaway on Tybee. We have stayed with Debbie twice and she is an awesome hostess, checking on us several times during our week in paradise. We have stayed both upstairs and down and love them both. We are far from prissy city folks, but are a well traveled mid 40’s couple with teenagers. We travel with other families when we come to Tybee and we always host the dinner parties at “our” home on Tybee. The Dockside is not the Ritz Carlton, but is always clean and ready for us, and the quiet back street setting is awesome. I wake up each morning to surf fish when we are there and it literally takes less than a half a cup of coffee to walk to the beach for the sunrise. At night the sunset over the marsh is one of my favorites in the world. The rising and falling tide in your back yard is awesome and fishing in the creek is like Forrest Gump chocolate, you never know what you’re gonna get. To have the extra room to play and relax as a family is priceless, I wish for you and your family the number of great memories that we have made at Deb’s on TYBEE! Scott, Pam, Maron and Luke
Owner response:It's always a delight to have guests, continuously thrilled with the experience, return year after year! You really do have to experience it, for yourself, to appreciate all there is to offer; like a box of chocolate - and as Scott (and Forrest Gump) says, you never know what you’re gonna get! So come on down to our little piece of paradise and experience it for yourself! We think you'll love it!

Comments From Guests of TybeeDocksideInnOnHorsepenCreek " Rating: ***** 5 stars (5/5; 5 of 5); "We loved the rental. The bikes that were available for our use came in very handy. The kids enjoyed crabbing down at the dock, catching frogs, and shelling on the beach. The firepit was handy for smores in the evening, yum! The beach was just a 5min walk. The laundry facilities were handy every night with the beach towels. There was so much to do and see. The light house, Fort Pulaski, and Savannah

Owner response:The Tybee Dockside Inn is conveniently located mid island, and directly on Horsepen Creek; just a short five minute walk to the beach! Sunsets over the creek, or sunrises at the beach, take your pick - they're both breathtaking! Fishing and crabbing in the privacy and seclusion of Horsepen Creek, or sunbathing and body surfing along the great Atlantic Ocean's shore, it's the perfect location for everyone in your party! Like these guests, come on and join us and have a ball enjoying life on "Tybee Time ! "

Dirty, roaches, rats, one out of three window units worked properly, no ventilation in bath. I am not sure how this property could pass a health inspection. Under beds had not been cleaned. I would never recommend this to anyone with children.
Owner response:Terribly disappointing, though we take exception, this review did certainly make us sit up, take notice, & make some immediate changes! My mother was critically ill, under Hospice care, during this time period. My attentions totally diverted, my husband solely managed our local retail businesses, as well as tried to keep up with the grounds and maintenance at the Tybee Dockside Inn. We have, since then, totally renovated, hired a landscape/yard maintenance service, & a handy man! We no longer offer a “LEAVE IT AS YOU FOUND IT” option, allowing guests to clean themselves, in lieu of paying a fee; as was the case with the guests immediately preceding this lady’s stay. The guest submitting this review did state that she was a “self professed city girl“; the fact that the property is nestled amidst the lush marsh of Horsepen Creek - made the setting “a bit closer to nature than she expected.” Though she admitted "her husband and son were both thrilled with the place!" When she reported two "palmetto (flying) bugs", we immediately contacted our Pest Control company, dispatching our regular exterminator, who sprays routinely. He explained to her that in such a beautifully lush marsh setting, especially when the heat of the summer is intense, with little or no rainfall, that the two Palmetto bugs were simply seeking shade and water. Our exterminator confirmed that the unit was not infested with rodents. We received no reports of any dissatisfaction with the cleaning, nor did she report a problem with the bathroom fan, until the end of her stay. And her review provided the first acknowledgement of any problems with the A/C. This guest and her family stayed for their full vacation, and did not request another unit, or a refund. We have had numerous delighted guests over the years with rarely a complaint. We did have a lady who was completely traumatized by a fiddler crab that wandered in a few years back, but very few others! The happiness and comfort of all out guests is our sincere concern. The Dockside Inn is a great family place; and we quickly address any issue brought to our attention - assuring the comfort and happiness of all our guests! Please check out all the reviews for both the upstairs and downstairs units offered at the Tybee Dockside Inn on Horsepen Creek - it’s the same ! Thank you and we hope you’ll give us a chance and join us soon! HAPPY VACATIONING! Tybee Dockside Inn on Horsepen Creeki

"We had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the quiet stay away from the crowd and still in walking distance of the beach. We enjoyed grilling every night for dinner. My son and husband loved the fishing. We will definately be returning for another stay. Thank you for your hospitality." - Jennifer H., Columbus, GA, 05/29/2007
