This beach property is very affordable ---a “Great place to stay without going broke!” as reviewed by our guests. The house is built on the beach in summer of 2005. It is equipped with full kitchen, garbage disposal, dishwasher, Wash/Dryer, Dish TV, DVD/VCR, and books for rainy day.
Since the beginning of 2012, we have done a lots of improvements to this property: put on new shower unit, new sofa, new dresser, new curtain, new bed head and new oven & range, as well as some new paints and decorations. We will continue to keep up our properties to provide a better and comfortable environments to our guests.
This SUPPER CLEAN new beach house is located on a quiet private community by the north end of surfside beach island and away from the crowd. Views to the gulf and the intracoastal waterway from the large covered deck with Baby Gate. Private sunset views from the master bedroom deck. There are plenty of the windows in each room and make the house feel very bright and open.
The property is only 50 steps away from the beach. Cross the bridge into Surfside beach and you're in another world - totally relaxing - do as much or as little as you want. Go fishing, kayaking, surfing. or just relax on the beach. Spend quality family time enjoying the laid-back atmosphere. Plan a reunion, or enjoy the fireworks on the 4th of July or New Years. Sand castles and evening bonfires are possibilities.
Plenty of covered parking, outdoor shower and BBQ grill down stairs.
Walks on the long jetty on the south end of Surfside Beach let you watch the dolphins play!
Nearby is Galveston, where you can visit Moody Gardens, historic homes, and there's always great shopping on The Strand.
House is furnished with 3 queen bed, one bunk bed which can sleep 8 in bed, plus 2 La-Z-Boy sofas, which are usable for 2-4 people for added sleeping. One queen air mattress is provided for additional sleep for two. The kitchen is fully equipped with Utensils, plates, bowls, glasses and silverware. There is a dining counter, dining table and chairs, deck chairs. Three nicely decorated bedrooms are furnished with three comfortable queen-size beds and a bunk bed. Dressers for your clothing if you want to make yourself feel home for your stay. Every room is furnished with pillows, pillow shams, bed spreads, sheet, blankets, comforters. Bath room towels, hand towels, beach towels are provided. FREE Linens are provided upon request. $100 laundry fee will be charged if left unwashed after you departure.
Second balcony is located outside master bedroom which can be used as a private get away place!
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE LINENS TO THE BEACH.
The house is furnished with Direct TV over 200 channels available plus local programing, and DVR up to 100 hours so you can record your favorite TV show while you have fun on the beach!

Jennifer, Thank you so much for extending your beach home to my group on such short notice. Visited the webpage and noticed a couple of days in between two long rentals and Jennifer set us up for a nice little mini vacation. House is exactly as described, pictures are very true do date. It felt as if I walked into my own little vacation house, everything you need as far as pots, pans, dishes, tv (in each room I might add) was ready and available. Loved that the "free" beach access road is right there, and it was actually fun to sit out on back porch and watch the people coming and going. One more thing to add....the sunset view from this house was AMAZING! Thanks again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The beach house provided all the amenities we needed to make our stay a memorable one. The property was just a short walk away from sea and sand. It was also located within 5 to 15 minutes away from anything we needed. We had a party of 6 people who were able to sleep comfortably and still had room for more. The only qualm I had was the water but that's not the issue of the property but of the wells. We just brought along our own water and did just fine. :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Green Sea Star. Though not on the beach, it is a very easy walk to access beach. The listing description and the photos are spot on. Property is very clean and well maintained. We arrived and the grill, which I was fully planning on using was trashed by the salt air, contacted owner and she had a brand new grill delivered the following morning! I recommend this property!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

The house was of adequate size for the 5 of us to be comfortable. We also really liked its proximity to the beach, both for walking and driving. We typically rent homes when we are on vacation and this one was by far the worst we've stayed in. The bathtub in the master bedroom had a layer of sand on the bottom. I realize sand is a common problem at the beach, but this was a clear indication to me that the tub wasn't cleaned after the last guests checked out. There was a persistent ant problem in the kitchen. Many of the bed pillows were covered in filthy, unidentifiable stains. The bed linens were a hodge-podge of mismatched sheets and pillow cases, and due to the odor of some of them we had difficulty believing they had been laundered by the previous guests. When we went to launder them ourselves we discovered that there was no laundry soap or fabric softener, and the previous guests had left a load of wet towels in the dryer. Everything in the house is of the lowest, cheapest quality possible. I wouldn't stay here again.Owner response: Dear Traveler, sorry about the not well done cleaning job for this house at your check in. We had a long talk to our cleaning staff to investigate the incident after we receive the review notice. They did a good job for the rest of our other beach houses...but it is obviously they failed on the cleaning job this time for this house. We are apologizing for it! Like most beach house owners, we do not live on the island, we will depend our guest to give us feed backs after they stay so we can keep up a good condition of the house as well as the cleaning job. Every year, we put up new linens and pillows into this house before summer rental begin and put away the old stained pillows and linens. Unfortunately, our house keeper overlooked the stained pillow this time. We are deeply apologizing for the inconvenience caused to our guests. Since we are one of few beach houses who still provide the free linen and towels to our guest, we would like to ask our guest to wash/dry and put up the used linen/towels at their departure. Unfortunately, the previous guest did not follow the house rules and left some wet towels behind. Our cleaning staff overlooked the wash/dryer did not get them rewashed & dried before the next guest check in. After this incident, we have asked our cleaning staff to watch out any unfinished laundry for our beach properties to prevent this happen again. Sometimes, sheets and pillow covers were mistaken by the renter at their departure and left some unmatched linens behind. As part of house rule, we also ask our guest to wipe off the kitchen counter and floor for any food residue during their stay to prevent them attract ants and bugs into the house. We have treated the house with bug spray after we received the report from the guest. We encourage our guest to give us a call at check in for any house issues, such as unsatisfied clean up, short with linen/towels supplies, kitchen appliances failure, etc. We will take actions as soon as we received the massage from our guest and try our best to assistant you to solve the problems. We can be reached 24/7 to help you with any concerns you have during your stay at our beach properties.

We had a wonderful time. The queen beds are excellent---not like some of the soft saggy beds we’ve had before. Kitchen had the basics; you may want to bring plastic glasses or throw away ones—only glass glasses there. We brought our own sheets and towels as we did not want to wash on our last day at the beach. You can see the beach but not really hear it. It was a short walk to water. THe stairs are steep so be carfule if elderly. We will rent again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Green Sea Star. It was an excellent location and the amenities were wonderful. The only area that might use improvement is the dishwasher - it takes about 4 hours to run a complete cycle. Also, the water went out while we were there, but that was unavoidable as it went out in the whole neighborhood. Thank you for a lovely stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for your feed back about your stay. This is a 6 yr old house and so does the appliance. We are considering replace all our appliances in the kitchen to keep up a good rental condition to our guests.

This house is in a great location close to the beach. The house has three bed rooms and two bathrooms. One thing that is not listed in the listing is that you have to bring your own water because you cannot drink the well water coming from the faucets. The water out of the faucets is yellow is a bit off putting. Also the listing says that you can sleep 12 in this house. This house is no where near big enough to fit that many people. The two fold out couches that in the house do not work. There was an air mattress so you could sleep two more. There was no pump for the mattress though. All in all there is no way you can sleep more than 10 people in this house. The owners are nice people and easy to work with but the house left a little to be desired.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
Owner response: Dear guest, thank you for your input. Like every other beach houses on the island, we are using well water as well. The water from the well is safe for bathing, but we strongly suggest our guest to bring their own water to drink, or to bring the water bottle and have them refilled at surfside city. We replaced our water filter recently and hope it will make the water quality better. This house is about 1100 sqft and can sleep 8 in bed, 4 in sleeping couches, 2 in air mattress. Upon receiving the massage from out guest, we replaced the sleeping cough with two new full size futon and restocked the missing mattress pump back to master bedroom closet. As we mentioned, this house is not very big even though it can sleep up to 14 but if you have a large party to host or have more adults in your party please consider our other beach properties ( listing # 385185, 401457) which are 200-300 sqft larger, and they can provide more space to host your party.

Surfside beach is our weekend get away place, we love to jogging on the beach early in the morning, walking on the jetty to watch the beautiful sun set by the end of day, and wondering on the beach under the moon, listening to the sound of the wave...

Surfside is a fun place to go fishing, crabbing, surfing, and kayaking. You can find much pleasure here on Surfside as you can find at Galveston and more...And it it not too far from big city, only about an hour drive to Houston. A mid size town with shopping mall, movie theater,and quality restaurant is only 15min away.
