Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1997
I really encourage pet owners to bring their dogs. I am truly an animal lover! I think dogs enjoy vacations too! I've done a lot of work with animal rescue groups and spay/neuter groups in the recent past. I've never had anyone bring a cat (most cats would rather not spend their time at the lake, I've heard), but certainly would consider one.
Why the Owner Chose Lake Leelanau
When I was a kid, my parents brought us to the Traverse City area almost every summer. The
cottages have changed a lot since then. Back in the 50's, indoor plumbing was not common. That was the only thing I didn't like about cottages! Then, in the 80's, I started visiting a friend
who owned this cottage and grew to love it up here. In all the time I've spent in Northern Michigan, I've never grown tired of it. There is always something new to discover.
The Unique Benefits of this House
There are empty lots on either side of my property. (The owner of the property on the north side uses his lot to access his boat only.) It is quite quiet and peaceful here. Since we face west, we get to enjoy gorgeous sunsets. Occasionally we're fortunate enough to view the Northern Lights from here.
