Enjoy this newly remodeled, 700 square foot apartment completed in late 2005, located on the fifth floor (with elevator) of a classic Haussman building of "Pierre de Taille."

This beautifully designed and fabulously located two bedroom, two bath, Non-Smoking apartment is situated in the Rue St. Jacques at the western edge of the fifth arrondissement, just one block from the Jardin du Luxembourg and just a few minutes from the Pantheon as well as renowned schools like the Sorbonne.

This fabulous apartment has undergone a complete renovation by an award-winning American designer. It offers a well-appointed living room that is furnished with the highest quality furniture, lighting and artwork. Its focal point is a magnificent 19th century fireplace with a gold leaf mirror above and crystal wall sconces. French antiques accent the space.

The original hardwood floors have been refinished and restored throughout, except in the bathrooms and kitchen which have tile flooring. High dramatic ceilings, crown molding and large windows are featured throughout. The kitchen, bathrooms and toilet are new. All the state-of-the-art appliances were chosen for design and ease of use. They include a refrigerator/freezer combination, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer, dryer, television and DVD player.

The master bedroom features a queen size bed with a custom-built storage arch. The second bedroom is furnished with two large twin beds that can be easily converted in to a king size bed.

From the large windows and the balcony facing west, you will enjoy a complete view over the convent (built in the 18th century) and its garden across the street as well as the Eglise St. Jacques du Haut Pas built in 1620. From the living room and one of the bedrooms that are accessed off the balcony, enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the sunset! (See the floor plan.)

Wake up to coffee and croissants which you can prepare yourself in the apartment's new kitchen or get from the downstairs patisserie; gourmet meals are just a step away with the convenience of the gourmet caterer located downstairs. Nearby shops are located within walking distance giving you the atmosphere of a local village.

You can easily walk to the picturesque rue Mouffetard street market where you will find great shopping, restaurants and cafes. You could also wander around the Jardin des Plantes or go to the nearby St-Germain-des-Pres located in the 6th arrondissement, and enjoy shopping at the great boutiques, or have a drink at a sidewalk cafe. A local guide to the neighborhood will be provided. Transportation is easy, either by the Metro/RER Luxembourg, the Metro Cluny/La Sorbonne or the bus, providing direct access to all major sites. Maps of bus and metro routes will be available to you.

Amenities include: refreshments upon your arrival; air conditioning for the hot days; maps and books of Paris; free phone calls; cable TV with CNN, BBC, and others; free high speed internet access as well as wireless WI-FI connection; and high quality linens and towels.

  • Loved this apartment -- you can believe all the previous comments. Great location, lovely view. Was able to walk or take the metro every. Loved wandering the twisty streets in the neighborhood, stopping at the shops & markets to pick up tidbits for dinner. The apartment had everything we needed, was happy to have instructions for the appliances (who knew starting a dishwasher could be an adventure), borrowed the maps to find our way around the city. Can't wait to stay here again.

  • This is a great rental property. First, the location is fantastic as it is only about a block from the Jardin du Luxembourg (a great place to jog, walk, or sit and relax), and a block from an RER stop that connects to the major Metro stops and runs straight to and from CDG airport). The neighborhood is very unpretentious, safe, and comfortable, being located near a school for the deaf and the universities. Boulangeries are located within a few hundred feet in either direction for the morning croissant and bread run, catered italian meals can be purchased on the ground floor, and a grocery store is within about a 5 minute walk. You get a much better feel for Paris than you will in a hotel. The apartment itself is comfortable for four people and is well-equipped to be able to eat in, sit on the balcony, or just relax. It is in an upper floor, so the street sounds are muted and the building is pretty quiet. WiFi allows you to connect to the internet with your own computer. The french washer/dryer combination will baffle and entertain you if you choose to clean your clothes :) This apartment is also priced very well and the owner is great with communications. Overall, a great option to consider if planning a trip to Paris.

  • We just returned from a 2 week stay at this wonderful apartment in Paris. It is everything as advertised and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice, comfortable, well appointed 1 or 2 bedroom apartment in the Latin Quarter. The street is quiet and picturesque, the deli downstairs has such good food that 4 nights we picked up dinner from them and ate in the apartment. The small balcony is great and is one of my favorite things about the apartment and the beds are both very comfortable as is the couch and small dinner table. It is so close to Luxembourg Gardens I spend time there daily. I will rent this apartment again and would give it high praise.

  • We found the apartment perfect for our needs (a family of four with two teenagers). It is beautifully and tastefully equipped and extremely convenient for all the main tourist attractions whilst still retaining the charm of belonging to an authentic Parisian "quartier". The Mouffetard market is just around the corner as are the Luxenbourg Gardens and numerous restaurants (not all of them in the tourist guides). There are also numerous handy shops and delicatessens in the same street. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment! We loved it!

  • We stayed in your beautiful apartment in April. Our granddaughter was with us so the apartment was so much nicer than a hotel room.We had the most wonderful time pretending to be locals. The apartment was so homey, the personal touches made it a joy. We tried many of the restaurants suggested and loved them. The neighborhood was conventient and charming. We just soaked everything in and left Paris longing to return. Xavier was a delight. It was very nice having someone pick us up at the airport and orient us to the apartment. He drove us several times while we were there. Thank you again for helping us create a great memory. Donna

  • This was our first trip to Paris and our first time using VRBO. Christine's apartment is everything advertised and then some. Located only one block from the RER/metro it made getting around all of Paris easy. The apartment itself is beautiful and extremely quiet. We took our two daughters on their Spring break from college and they loved the apartment, having their own bedroom and having their laptops and a wireless connection were highlights. Christine has also made available for an additional fee the services of a driver, Xavier, who met us at the airport and oriented us at the apartment. He did such a great job, we hired him to take us back to the airport to avoid the hassle of taking luggage on the metro. Christine was always responsive and helpful in our planning and it made the whole Parisian experience that much more enjoyable. I would recommend renting an apartment over staying in a hotel, especially with a family.
