Ditto all of the wonderful comments everyone else has made about this fantastic property. Comfortable and chic. Great location. Great service from Xavier and the cleaning team--it was spotless, immaculate, in a word, perfect. I have traveled in France quite often but this was first time renting an apartment instead of a hotel. Think there is no going back to hotel stays after this fantastic experience. I was with my family and it served our purposes very well. Next time just two of us for a romantic week or so in Paris.

Great choice for our family of 4 with 2 teenagers. Really loved the neighborhood, especially the street market nearby , Rue Mouffetard. Close to Metro and bus stops as well. Very smooth transaction with apt owner, timely correspondence and straightforward. Bathtub access might be difficult for orthopedically challenged, but other shower no problem. Only 1 toilet but works fine since its in own closet. Would stay there again which is the ultimate compliment.

Our family of two adults and two kids (11 and 12) stayed at this wonderful apartment for a week (March 23-30) and really enjoyed it. As required by the owner, we were picked up when we arrived in Paris by Xavier. He helped with luggage, gave us some itinerary suggestions and then settled us in quickly. He knows the apartment and how things work. He also took us to the airport on the way home (we paid him directly) and when we return we may use him for tours outside the city. We've stayed at a hotel in the 5th before and love the area. The apartment is deeper into the 5th than we've stayed before but we loved it. Lots of boulangeries around to bring in food for breakfast, several markets, banks and cafes. You get a nice slice of life as a Parisien, especially seeing kids going to school in the morning. A two-block walk to Luxembourg Gardens and the RER make transportation convenient. It's just a 10-minute walk to the Cluny/La Sorbonne Metro (a few blocks more put you at Notre Dame). You can usually find a taxi near Luxembourg Gardens if preferred. Two blocks from the apartment is Bistro Les Papilles, a casual restaurant with excellent food; it is highly recommended (look it up and make reservations) -- they serve a set menu. Best fromagerie in Paris (Laurent Dubois), one of the best boulangeries (Eric Kayser) and a great outdoor market (Maubert Mutualite) are a 10-15 minute walk. Building is typical for Paris but has an elevator (3 people max). Area is not noisy but not totally quiet either. Neighbors friendly and not nosy, which is good because the floors are creaky and thin enough that you can hear them a little, though it never bothered us. Photos and description are very accurate. Apartment is well-decorated and well-equipped. The owner provides a "bible" of how everything works, contact numbers, suggestions of what to do, etc. TV gets lots of channels, plenty of guidebooks and maps available. We used the washer/dryer every day (typical European -- small, all-in-one, doesn't dry well) and the dishwasher a couple of times. Beds were very comfortable. Good closet space for fitting a week of clothes. Water pressure in shower and bath was great. Kitchen has dishes, utensils, glasses, oil, salt/pepper, tea, coffee, pots and pans. Other have cooked there daily but we ate out except for breakfast. Wifi worked well. We will definitely be back. Thanks for letting us stay there, it made our vacation convenient and relaxing.

My family and I recently returned from a week's vacation in Paris and we were very pleased with the apartment and the rental experience with Christine. Christine arranged for Xavier to meet at at the airport and drive us to the apartment. Xavier was very helpful and pleasant. He helped us with luggage and also explained all features of the property. Regarding the apartment we found it to be very neat, well equipped and modern. Now if you are an experienced European traveler you will find the apartment to be rather large by European standards. If you have never traveled to Europe you must realize that this is not Texas! We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage daughters and we found the apartment to much more comfortable than a hotel room. The apartment is located in a very nice residential neighborhood. It is a 5 minute walk to Luxembourg Gardens and a 15 minute walk to Notre Dame. Overall, it is well placed for Paris sight-seeing. There are numerous cafes and bistros in the area and we found it to be very safe at all hours of the night. Overall, we were very pleased with our rental experience and we would love to return!

My friend and I stayed at this apartment and found it to be cozy and very comfortable. The apartment was absolutely well decorated and very clean. It was very comfortable for the 2 of us who stayed and each enjoyed their own room while we could share an apartment for hanging out. Much easier than a hotel with 2 different rooms. I found the owner to be more than helpful which really made a big difference and everything well organized for staying in Paris and the neighborhood. We shopped in Paris and did eat out alot but the apartment would definitely have worked if we wanted to have friends over who live in Paris. Thank you it was a great stay!

This apartment is perfect. The size is quite nice for Paris and the location couldn't be better. The Luxembourg Gardens and the metro are only a block away. There are several very good restaurants within a couple blocks and the shopping nearby (just to the other side of the Gardens) was a lot of fun. I have to say the coffee in the apartment was one of my favorite things and I loved the individual serving brewer. I returned home and had to go buy one myself. Can't say enough good things about this apt. Would love to stay hear on my next trip.

I have visited Paris a dozen times, and this apartment was the best place that I have ever stayed. It was located close enough to the metro to allow for site-seeing, but was in a quiet neighborhood. It is a quick walk to the Jardin du Luxemborg, and a pleasant walk to St Germain des Pres or to the Latin Quarter. It was quite pleasant to be able to sit back in the evening, open the windows and relax. The apartment had everything, including a washing machine and a full kitchen. It was located near shops and restaurants, and Christine has written up a very detailed guide which helped us choose which of the many restaurants we wanted to eat at. The apartment was clean and beautifully decorated; the photos on the website are accurate but don't do the apartment justice once you walk inside. I would highly recommend this apartment to any of my friends or family, or to anyone looking for a little bit of space in a beautiful apartment. Thank you Christine for making your lovely home available.

What a wonderful place to rest after a long day in Paris. The apartment is beautiful and exactly as described. The location could not be better - there's a deli downstairs, a wine shop to the left, a cafe to the right, a grocery store and a patisserie around the corner, a coffee shop down the street and just two blocks from the Metro. It's also close enough to walk to many of the attractions in central Paris. It sits between two major streets, yet is quiet and cozy. It truly is everything you could ask for - I hope to be able to return!

My girlfriend and our teenage daughters stayed here for a week while exploring Paris and had a fabulous time. It is close enough to the touristy areas to walk but far enough away that it is in a real neighborhood. It was very convenient for the metro and on the direct line to the airport. The apartment is beautiful and has a comfortable Paris feel. Enjoy the Luxembourg Gardens! This will be my first choice place to stay when I return.

My husband and I, along with another couple traveled to Paris for a great vacation and to enjoy the French Open. This apartment was perfect for us. Both rooms were set up with Queen beds which was great. We enjoyed being in a quiet area away from the busy tourist districts. We enjoyed being able to walk to great restaurants. Having a mini-market and bakery were right across the street from the apartment was very convenient. We utilized all of the apartment amentities- cable tv, fully equipped kitchen, high speed internet and the travel guide books. We walked and took the metro (utilized the 5 day metro pass) everywhere. I highly recommend Paris in the springtime and this apartment.

Christine: Just thought I would drop you a line and let you know that our trip to France has been wonderful. We have found it to be a charming country with beautiful countryside, exquisite mediaeval towns and for the most part, great food - we are all hooked on those baguettes. Paris was indeed highlight right from the airport pick-up. Benoit was really helpful with the airport pick-up and checking us in. The apartment was wonderful. spacious enough for 4 adults without getting on top of each other and such a great location - we walked almost everywhere. We soon had a handle on the shops in the area to pick up our breakfast supplies. Thanks for everything, Christine and friends.

This was our first time using VRBO and our first visit to Paris. We (2 adults + 11 yr old) were completely satisfied with the apartment. Christine, the owner, lives in Palo Alto and was a pleasure to deal with. All communications were prompt and precise. The apartment is just as described on the site and in prior reviews, very comfortable, very clean, nicely equipped, bright, inviting and well located. (The welcoming bottle of wine and small box of chocolates were a very nice touch.) Luxembourg Garden is just a block away. Les Papilles restaurant nearby was super (but could only get in for lunch--reserve early if you want dinner). Stops for the RER and buses are very convenient, and it's an easy 0.75mi stroll along Rue St Jacques to the Seine and Notre Dame. Christine has a great binder describing the apartment, appliances, neighborhood resources, restaurants, emergency numbers, etc. Xavier, her local representative, picked us up at the airport, and explained things at the apartment as well, making arrival painless; we took advantage of arranging a return to the airport with him, and he was there promptly for us at 6am the morning of our departure. Simply put, we have no qualms in recommending this property to others, including friends or family, and certainly hope to return again someday ourselves.

We have just returned from an absolutely heavenly holiday in beautiful Paris! Staying in Christine's lovely apartment felt truly like our home away from home and made it easy for us to imagine that we were living in Paris, not just visiting for a week. The apartment is just as charming as pictured: friendly and cheerful, full of light and air, comfortably furnished, clean and elegantly equipped. The beds and linens were wonderful, the showers were perfect (we never ran out of hot water), there were hairdryers, free long distance to the U.S., wifi, plenty of closet space to unpack clothes -- all that and a terrace! It was a pleasure to work with Christine on details prior to our trip and so nice to have the friendly and reliable help of Xavier and Benoit to assist us with transport to and from Charles de Gaulle airport. Just steps away from the Jardin de Luxembourg and every convenience right outside the door (pharmacie, patisserie, mini-markets, Ugo Traiteur (Italian catering), great restaurants) -- it is the perfect apartment! What a lovely place to come home to after a day in Paris. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful Paris home with us, Christine. We would love to stay here again!

Christine's apartment is a lovely, quiet and comfortable place to stay exactly as advertised. The renovated kitchen and bath were great and our family (2 adults, 1 teenager, 1 tween) were very happy to relax there after a long day enjoying Paris. We had breakfast every morning in the apartment with delicious treats from the local patissiere and one night ate in with amazing italian food from the downstairs market. The thick binder of helpful hints for eating out, metro stations and local fun was handy as well as the WiFi. Excellent accommodations in a magical city.

Four of us (2 mothers and 2 daughters) had a wonderful one week getaway to Paris and staying at this apartment really made the trip. The location was perfect - a close walk to many of the sites we wanted to visit as well as to great parks, shopping and an abundance of restaurants, bakeries and delicious food. We loved the neighborhood and were comfortable walking around until quite late at night. The proximity to the metro was a real plus. The apartment had all of the conveniences we needed and more (internet, phone, kitchen, espresso, bath). I hope to return sometime!!

My wife and I booked this apartment three weeks before leaving for Paris. We met with the owner, Christine, and developed a mutual trust which carried over to our one-week stay in July, 2010. The apartment more than met our needs - good location (one block to Luxembourg RER station), excellent grocery stores nearby, very quiet street. Having internet access was a huge plus. The updated bath and kitchen were delightful. The second bedroom was large enough for our teenage daughter who does not know how to pack light! The apartment was clean and well-appointed. The local manager gave us a brief overview of the appliances and the features of the building as we settled in. And yes, the patisserie, gourmet caterer and the Italian deli -- all within a few steps of our front door - were real bonuses. We would recommend this apartment to our friends, and hope to return someday. ****** Post-script and advisory ***** So, why did we not book Christine's apartment earlier? A month before our departure, we learned that we had been "scammed" on an apartment advertised on Craigslist. While the money we sent via Western Union to the owner's "accountant" as a deposit was very real, the apartment posting was very fake. Lucky for us we learned we had been scammed several weeks before leaving, and had enough time to make alternate arrangements. Working with Christine, who understood our nervousness and skepticism, was a godsend.

My daughters and my sister and I had a lovely stay at your apartment. It was true to its advertizing and all the previous renter comments which had sold me on the location. We loved Paris and your apartment is convenient for so many things. Ate at Papilles and food was fabulous. Also had a great experience in the other direction at a smaller cafe, Vin Sobre. Food and wine was delicious too. Wonderful trip thanks in great part to your rental.

We rented this wonderful apt the last 10 days of April, 2010. The listing description is accurate. The location is superb; the apt is efficient, clean and very nicely appointed. It will easily accommodate 2 couples, or a family with 2 children. The French owner, who resides in Palo Alto, CA, was very helpful, answered all of our questions, and is very trustworthy. The man handling all Paris onsite matters, as well as airport pickup service, speaks good English and is very helpful and pleasant. The street location, while somewhat busy, is reasonably quiet in the evenings. The Luxembourg RER station, only one block away, has excellent connections to the entire Paris Metro system as well as to the other RER (suburban trains) connection/transfer lines. For us Americans used to assuming that "2 bathrooms" means two toilets, a word of caution: while the two separate bathrooms are modern and efficient, there is one toilet for the entire apartment. This is a very common occurrence in French housing, so deal with it - go Parisien! We can highly recommend Ugo Traiteur downstairs in the same building for take-out foods, with excellent help from Eric behind the countert. We can also highly recommend two nearby restaurants, very popular with the locals: Les Papilles just up the street at 30, rue Gay Lussac (phone first to reserve!), and Perraudin at 157, rue Saint Jacques, the same street as the apartment. Yes, we would highly recommend this apt to friends and relatives, without reservations! Enjoy!

Loved this apartment -- you can believe all the previous comments. Great location, lovely view. Was able to walk or take the metro every. Loved wandering the twisty streets in the neighborhood, stopping at the shops & markets to pick up tidbits for dinner. The apartment had everything we needed, was happy to have instructions for the appliances (who knew starting a dishwasher could be an adventure), borrowed the maps to find our way around the city. Can't wait to stay here again.

This is a great rental property. First, the location is fantastic as it is only about a block from the Jardin du Luxembourg (a great place to jog, walk, or sit and relax), and a block from an RER stop that connects to the major Metro stops and runs straight to and from CDG airport). The neighborhood is very unpretentious, safe, and comfortable, being located near a school for the deaf and the universities. Boulangeries are located within a few hundred feet in either direction for the morning croissant and bread run, catered italian meals can be purchased on the ground floor, and a grocery store is within about a 5 minute walk. You get a much better feel for Paris than you will in a hotel. The apartment itself is comfortable for four people and is well-equipped to be able to eat in, sit on the balcony, or just relax. It is in an upper floor, so the street sounds are muted and the building is pretty quiet. WiFi allows you to connect to the internet with your own computer. The french washer/dryer combination will baffle and entertain you if you choose to clean your clothes :) This apartment is also priced very well and the owner is great with communications. Overall, a great option to consider if planning a trip to Paris.

We just returned from a 2 week stay at this wonderful apartment in Paris. It is everything as advertised and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice, comfortable, well appointed 1 or 2 bedroom apartment in the Latin Quarter. The street is quiet and picturesque, the deli downstairs has such good food that 4 nights we picked up dinner from them and ate in the apartment. The small balcony is great and is one of my favorite things about the apartment and the beds are both very comfortable as is the couch and small dinner table. It is so close to Luxembourg Gardens I spend time there daily. I will rent this apartment again and would give it high praise.

We found the apartment perfect for our needs (a family of four with two teenagers). It is beautifully and tastefully equipped and extremely convenient for all the main tourist attractions whilst still retaining the charm of belonging to an authentic Parisian "quartier". The Mouffetard market is just around the corner as are the Luxenbourg Gardens and numerous restaurants (not all of them in the tourist guides). There are also numerous handy shops and delicatessens in the same street. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment! We loved it!

This was our first trip to Paris and our first time using VRBO. Christine's apartment is everything advertised and then some. Located only one block from the RER/metro it made getting around all of Paris easy. The apartment itself is beautiful and extremely quiet. We took our two daughters on their Spring break from college and they loved the apartment, having their own bedroom and having their laptops and a wireless connection were highlights. Christine has also made available for an additional fee the services of a driver, Xavier, who met us at the airport and oriented us at the apartment. He did such a great job, we hired him to take us back to the airport to avoid the hassle of taking luggage on the metro. Christine was always responsive and helpful in our planning and it made the whole Parisian experience that much more enjoyable. I would recommend renting an apartment over staying in a hotel, especially with a family.

My husband and I spent 10 nights in Christine's apartment, we loved it. No surprises, all exactly as is seen on the web site. Much care and love with all that it contained. The area was particulary good- out of the "Rat Race" we felt like locals. The restaurant Les Papilles, so close, in rue Gay Lussac, is a wonderful french dining experience, we went twice, and would go again! Also Vaganende in San Germaine, we had a classic lunch to remember. The 27 bus also runs along rue Gay Lussac, literally around the corner, a wonderful ride, and so convenient. The Institut du monde Arabe was the most amazing ..architecturally awesome, not to be missed, and only a very interesting walk away. Special memories, and Brigitte was lovely.

We ended a four week tour of Europe at Christine’s lovely apartment in Paris. It was a place we could call home after our long journey and from the minute we arrived, we felt comforted by the many thoughtful details both in the apartments design and function. Situated in an older building, the apartment exudes character and charm which perfectly matched our vision for an apartment in Paris. The apartment’s location in an appealing, quieter neighborhood was ideal for a reprieve from the livelier parts of the city, especially after a long day of sightseeing. The location also made easy access to essential stores, restaurants, the RER and the beautiful Luxembourg gardens. There was much to love about this apartment, but our favorite was the serene comfort of the bedrooms. On our travels, windows become a special memory from each place we stayed. The windows in Christine’s apartment remain some of our favorite; especially the rear bedroom window that looks onto neighboring, Parisian roof tops. There is nothing like sleeping in Paris, with the window open and hearing the rain pouring down; especially when you know that tomorrow will be another sunny day. Thank you again Christine, for sharing your special place in Paris with us.

We stayed at this lovely apartment in July 2007 and enjoyed every minute of it. The location is beautiful with the Luxembourg park minutes away. Madame Brigette was helpful and the amenities of the apartment were first class. We recommend this apartment and would stay there again in a heartbeat! The Hay family

What a wonderful apartment! This was my first trip to Paris and having this apartment made the visit most enjoyable. The place is beautifully furnished and is very conveniently located. Being a block from the Luxemburg RER station provided easy access to any destination in Paris. The apartment is located in a safe neighborhood with several nice restaurants within walking distance. It was so nice to come home to a beautiful apartment after a long day and relax with my traveling companions while having a glass of wine. I felt like a true Parisian.

We stayed here in Feb. of 2007 and loved every moment of it. It is a beautiful, clean, modern apartment in a wonderful section of Paris. The owner was a delight to deal with, and she always responded to our questions promptly and pleasantly. The apt. had everything we could have wanted, and there was nothing to complain about. It was spotless and decorated well, and there was plenty to walk to nearby. We will absolutely be back to stay here again!

The apartment was completely refurbished with well designed storage space. Our reception and orientation meeting with Brigitte was extremely well done. The location in the 5th district is close to everything and is not in the touristic area which makes it a very quiet area. We look forward to returning.

We had a fabulous stay at the apartment in March -- enjoyed going out for fresh bread each morning and cooking breakfast in the apartment. Perfect location. Enjoyed dinner at Le Bookiniste. We highly recommend for amenities and location. Pauline and Brigite were extremely gracious and accommodating. We enjoyed the welcoming wine and chocolates.

Chistine. Your apartment is AMAZING! Superb location. Every amenity to make our stay extremely comfortable. Lovely attention to detail to makie vacationers feel at home. A very welcome surprise was how unbelievably the beds were! So easy to get everywhere and being right on the airport metro line is a nice plus as well. We adored the neighborhood and spent very fun time exploring all the great restaurants right near by. And we would have one to add that was just fantastic...Le Petit Prince right near the Pantheon. There is no question that when we return to Paris we will stay in your apartment. And we will give your rental information to anyone we know traveling there as well. Thanks again, Rob and Regina Ziffer

It is a wonderful apartment located within walking distance to everything. It is fully appointed , just waiting for you and your clothes. There were 4 of us girls and there was plenty of space for us. Wonderful restaurants and shops are within the same block. We highly recommend and I will return.

The pictures on this website have not been retouched! The atmosphere in the apartment is as lovely and comfortable as it's depicted. The mattresses and linens are divine and the peaceful surroundings will ensure a restful night's sleep or an afternoon nap.... With all that there is to see in Paris, you'll probably not be spending much time indoors, however, when you do, the comforts are like home sweet home. Thank you, Christine.

My husband and I shared the apartment with our 23 year old son and his girlfriend for two weeks. It was perfect. We wanted a location where the kids could go out and meet young people yet not crowded and noisy. The apartment is bright and sunny (even in November)and the shopkeepers where I bought our daily breakfasts and evening wine/munchies could not have been nicer (Market Marie just down the block is a good all purpose place for staples). We have stayed in other apartments in Paris and found this to be far superior. The internet access and phone service to the US is a real plus as were two bathrooms. The orientation "book" helped us find clubs and resturants in the neighborhood which were welcome after a long day sightseeing. Mme Brigitte gave us a thorough overview of the place as well. Beware that the elevator is VERY small and can be claustrophobic. We only used it for moving/out with luggage so be prepared to walk up and down. C'est jolie!

This apartment made my first trip to Paris absolutely perfect. It is in the prettiest part of Paris, the Luxembourg Gardens. One can walk to all the tourist spots in Paris, however the Metro and Bus access is very convenient to this apartment. The apartment has all the modern conveniences, beautifully decorated, yet gives you the old world Paris feeling as you sip wine on the balcony, walk next door to the pastry shop for a crossant & cafe creme or poke in the myriad of shops within the neighborhood. There is a detailed instruction booklet for every possible situation which helped to make the stay simple, easy, fun and informative. Having the toilet in a separate room from the tub & shower rooms is genius -- for women we always need as much sink and mirror space as we can find. There are available restaurants and a Jazz club close by. The rooms are spacious, the apartment comes with elevator access, a washer/dryer, computer use, and a wonderful kitchen to use for simple snacks or a full dinner party. I highly recommend this apartment for luxurious yet comfortable lodging when in Paris.

My wife and baby daughter spent a wonderful week in this very convenient and quiet apartment. We found the apartment to be of a very high standard, and the size of the place was perfectly appropriate for us. We found the location very convienent as there were a number of bakeries, cheese stores, wine stores and supermarkets, perfect for cooking meals in the aparment. Also the location was very good as within walking distance of St Germain and close to alot of good bus routes and the RER/Metro. High speed wireless internet access, flat screen cable TV , and DVD were great. We would definitely come back again.
