"Cranberry Cottage at Cobb Island" is a waterfront property offering a grand view of the water with wonderful sunrises and sunsets especially if you're out on our newly upgraded and vastly improved privately owned 100+ foot pier and dock, as seen in photo #3. An enclosed wrap-around porch overlooks the water, giving you a great opportunity to watch the passing pleasure and work boats (crabbing or oystering) while you enjoy a romantic candlelight dinner prepared in the newly renovated fully equipped kitchen.
This charming "Cottage" was recently renovated and is fully furnished with a wide variety of amenities and waterfront theme accessories, all of which add up to creating a wonderful atmosphere for just laid-back relaxing, reading or just enjoying some good old fashioned family together time. In addition to the one separate bedroom with twin beds, there is a new queen sized sofa bed that sleeps two comfortably in a spacious open studio-living/family area that overlooks the water. The enclosed porch is equipped with a futon that easily accommodates two more people comfortably (*).
NOTE: Cranberry Cottage has recently been complemented with a sister cottage called "WAVERLY COTTAGE" located on the adjoining property, thereby increasing the occupancy capacity to 10 people. Wonderful setting for accommodating Family or vacationing friends. More details on this wonderful new feature are available via either telephone or e-mail inqueries.
Traffic is very light on Cobb Island making it perfect for biking, walking and just enjoying the wildlife or chatting with one of the friendly neighbors. During the summer months the osprey, blue herons and seagulls are great to watch while during the winter flocks of ducks and gatherings of white swans add to the serenity of the peaceful waterside. Both fishing and crabbing can be done directly from our private pier from early Spring till late Fall.
To satisfy your "touring" spirit, Cobb Island is within easy driving distances of Washington DC (approximately 1 hour), many museums, Mt. Vernon, VA, Fredericksburg, VA, with its many Civil War Battlefields, Colonial Williamsburg, St. Mary's City (early settler's village) and many many more historic settings.
