We spent a week in the Lancelot and it was very comfortable for our family of four. The A/C was very welcome since its very humid in Paris in August, it worked great and cooled it down. The beds were comfortable, I have to say they were firmer than I like so keep that in mind. The kids liked the bed in the wall! :) There are lots of stores that are useful close by. Monoprix was about a ten minute walk away and great for groceries. There is a small grocery store a couple of streets away on Archives the man that runs it is very friendly. Brioche Doree is on Rivoli near Hotel De Ville and is great for families for any meal. Avoid Quick Burger is was awful!!!! Our family favorites were Jardin du Luxembourg they have a great park for kids, it costs about 10 euro to access for a family of four but well worth it and they have a bathroom!!! We had a great time, thanks Isabelle!!

Our family [My wife, myself and our 2 children] stayed at the Lancelot in July 2011. We had an amazing time in Paris and loved the apartment. Our son enjoyed pulling his bed down from the wall every night. The neighborhood is busy and friendly. We had a vehicle, but did not do much driving in Paris. The apartment was located near the Metro and many bakeries, shops and restaurants. We loved the fountains at the Centre Pompidou [very close] and would walk there to people watch and the kids would eat gelato. Great memories, thanks Isabelle,

If you are looking for an apartment in central Paris look no further! I searched for weeks on the internet and when I found Isabelle's apartments I thought, "this is it!" And it was! It can be difficult trusting people on the internet but our experience was fantastic and I would absolutely recommend it to others. The booking system was very straightforward and the payment system worked very smoothly, including the return of our deposit after our stay. I was initially looking for an apartment which would accommodate myself, my husband and our two rapidly growing teenagers - we had stayed at other places with what turned out to be "child" beds and since our chldren are taller than me this was a real problem! I asked Isabelle specifically about this and was very reassured - the beds in fact are better than expected and it easily accommodated us - in fact our daughter had the luxury of a double bed! The apartment has everything you need, it's beautifully appointed and very clean. We loved the location of Le Marais - it was quite important for me that we could stay somewhere where we could walk to sights and this worked out brilliantly. We went on the Metro only a couple of times, when we had long journeys such as back to the Gare du Nord and also to MontMartre, otherwise we walked and also got the Batobus - this is a boat that you can get day tickets, 2 day tickets, or 5 day tickets, and hop on/hop off. We got 5 day tickets and this would be my top tip for travellers! It means you can get to quite a lot of the sights, doing the hop on/hop off thing, but also you can treat it like a cruise, just stay on and go all the way around and get off where you started. We did this actually most evenings and it was beautiful, very relaxing. We usually got on at the nearest stop, Hotel de Ville, and it takes you to stops which include the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, then back up the other side of the Seine, calling at various other places including stops for the Musee D'Orsay and the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame, right up to the Jardin de Plantes, after which it comes back to the Hotel de Ville. Try it! Highly recommended and we will try and come back soon. Incidentally I'd really recommend going via Eurostar which was brilliant. Thanks Isabelle x PS Our teenagers loved the art in Paris, one's doing GSCE and the other A level art, we did the Pompidou Centre, Musee D'Orsay, Musee D'Art Moderne, Louvre, also some smaller galleries and searching for French graffiti!

I would certainly recommend Isabelle to anyone booking and paying from overseas. She was very prompt in her replies and gave very useful information for finding the apartment etc. Our bond was repaid within a few days of our departure from the apartment. On our arrival there were problems with the phone and the internet access and Isabelle had them rectified very quickly. The apartment is in a great location and it is very easy to get to all the attractions from here. It was great to have our own 'home' in Paris.

Me and my wife visited Paris in March and stayed in the apartment for 9 days. The apartment was great, the location excellent (walking distance from all central sites) and the neighbourhood charming. Next time we visit Paris, we will definitely consider staying there again.

My boyfriend and I were just in Paris for fashion week working, and we were delighted to stay in yet another one of Isabelles apartments. This HAS to be the best and easiest way to travel. Like other comments below, the simplicity of any and all transactions and communication is seamless. I know most people are scared to travel let alone stay in an apartment instead of a hotel, but if I can recommend anything to a new traveler is to stay here. Isabelle makes it so easy if there is any kind of problem of any sort. In each apartment is a handbook of really any information you might need for your stay. Specifically, the Lancelot is in the best location, we hardly took the subway because we were so close to this quaint part of town. Thank you Isabelle, we will be back in July!

We stayed at Lancelot from Dec. 19th through Dec. 26th of 2009. Paris at Christmas time is great! I travelled with my husband and my two young sons (6-yrs old & 11-yrs old). Lancelot's location could not have been better. Such a charming neighborhood. The aparment was everything that Isabelle said it was. We also had Sabine for two days. It just made our whole trip. I would not have done anything differently.

We stayed in the Lancelot apartment with our two children ages 12 and 15. it must have been after the negative review. Any initial misgivings I had with renting an apartment in Paris sight unseen were put at ease by all of the information I received from Isabelle. I was also able to use google earth and view the apartment from the outside and the neighborhood it was in which made my family even more excited. We had our maps in carry on luggage and brought our cell phone with us. When you travel, you have to expect the unexpected and be prepared. The Lancelot apartment was fantastic. It's age added to its charm. For the price, you cannot find a hotel in Paris with comparable amenities. We really liked that it had a clothes washer which we used several times. I agree that the smoke in the hallway was a problem but that is not a fair criticism of the Lancelot apartment. The smoke from my memory never leaked into the apartment. From our observation, many many more people in Paris smoke which is something you should be prepared for before you travel to Paris. The apartment building does not have an elevator which I believe Isabelle warns you of beforehand. We also used the airport shuttle service that was recommended. It picked us up promptly and the driver spoke English. The only correspondence I have ever had with Isabelle was by email, before, during or after our stay. She had an associate meet us at the apartment who was there when we arrived and she was able to answer all of our questions. We had a fantastic trip which was made even better by staying at the Lancelot.

The apartment is clean and bright..a true home away from in a beautiful city. Isabelle's booking process is easy and efficient. I would recommend her apartments very highly. Cheers.

My husband and I enjoyed a delightful stay in the Lancelot apartment. The location was PERFECT. Le Marais is such a fun neighborhood, an easy walk to Isle St Louis and the Left Bank. And nearby Metro stations made it very easy to get to all other areas of Paris. The apartment itself was very well equipped; we often ate breakfast "at home," because the apartment was so light and cheerful. Don't be daunted by the entry to the building. Once you climb the stairs, you'll be in a little bit of Parisienne heaven. We would definitely rent from Isabelle again.

I've used stayed in four other holiday apartments in Paris and Lancelot is by far the nicest. The location in the Marais is superb with excellent shops and restaurants on the doorstep. Isabelle has a lovely touch with the decor - very charming and romantic and definitely a cut above the average anonymous hotel room or apartment. And she is very reliable and easy to deal with - not a single problem or complaint. Highly recommended - will definitely stay here again.

My husband, my 14 year old daughter and I stayed for one week at the Lancelot apartment in the Marais district early October 2007. Everything is as the photos on the web site indicate and better because you can look out the window and can't believe you are really here. The new velib bikes are in the street below the apartment which are a source on entertainment in themselves and a great idea for Paris. The furnishings and comfort level were lovely and felt very french. It felt like our home for that week. The cafes and shops in the Marais were wonderful and the Pompidou is 2 blocks away (great view) and art. Isabelles contact person, Arielle was so helpful especially as she spoke English and our French was developing. As soon as we left for Sydney after 6 weeks of travelling around Europe we were ready to come back to Paris and stay here again.

It is located close to all the main attractions and in a quiet and secure side street. We also appreciated the introduction by Isabelle on the first day with all the secret tipps. We stayed at the Lancelot in Le Marais for 10 days inJuly. Two adults and our 11 year old son. This was our second trip to France and we wanted to "live" in the city. This apartment was great for that reason. Close to two metro stops (5 min) and 10 min from Chatelet/Les Halles for even more access. Rue Rambuteau, just a block away, had everything that we needed for food, ie. grocers, boulangerie, etc. Isabelle was wonderful to work with. We arranged the apartment months ago and she gave clear direction as to where to find it and how to access. She came to meet us with the apartment manager at the time arranged to accept payment and go over the details. She honoured the contract to the letter. She was available throughout the week, by email and phone as we needed (juat a couple of time). There was construction in the apartment above, which was not a problem as we were not there during the day anyway. Isabelle did arrange an extra cleaning for us due to a little dust. All in all it was a great experience working with her and living as close to a Parisian as we could. Do not have any reservation dealing with Isabelle or her colleagues, it was a great experience.

Isabelle and her team are a pleasure to work with - from the first moment of contact to the day of departure. Very helpful, very efficient and a great enthusiasm for assisting clients in getting the most out of their visit. We look forward to our next visit to Paris!

We spent the most wonderful two weeks staying in the lancelot over easter april 07 - the apartment was more than roomy enough for the three of us (mother, daughter, and 16yo granddaughter) the location was perfect- close to metro, great food shops in next street, lots of resturants close as well as lots of attractions within walking distance. The apartment was very well equiped -Isabelle was a pleasure to deal with answering every email promptly - we did not get to meet her but she was available other the phone- no problem with a late check out which was a huge help. I would not hesitate to stay in the same apartment or another of Isabelles and I am already planning a return in two years time.

We stayed in Isabelle's apartment in the Marais district. Great position in what felt like a safe location to simply "wander in", with good local shops and restaurants, and within easy reach of key places. Good flat at a good price. Really impressed by Isablle's team, who were very helpful. Will recommend to friends who, like us, enjoy the independence of a central apartment, at an affordable cost.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Paris at the Lancelot apartment. We felt part of the city, as we shopped at the local markets and bakeries of the neighborhood. The location of the Lancelot is idea to explore the most interesting neighborhood of many museums among the locals. We toured the city by metro from the Rue de Archives metro station. We relished returning to the Lancelot after a long day of sightseeing. It offered comfort and privacy. Before we committed to the Lancelot, by reviewing this website and Isabelle's friendly professionalism, I knew she was a sure bet and she was.

Three of us from the US stayed in the Lancelot apartment in the first week of June 2006. We absolutely fell in love with the apartment, and with Isabelle! The apartment is darling, very 'french', and very comfortable. Everything was in perfect order, and had everything we needed to cook, wash clothes, and in general make it our home away from home...very clean, nice smelling towels, soaps provided. Full of extra touches. Isabelle herself is a delight and very honest and personable, and so easy to do business with. I give her an A+++. Email me with questions. We are real people, and I would be happy to send pictures too. Oh, and the neighborhood is fantastic, with a coffee cafe downstairs, (the best cafe lattes!) a quaint bar across the street, and it is literally a 15 minute walk to most everything, including the amazing Notre Dame, the Seine, Picasso museum and more. It is a very upscale 'safe' neighborhood too. The Marais area is wonderful, quaint, everything you'd expect Paris to be. You'll love it! Sincerely, Bo Purce

We stayed at the Blanc/Archive Street address in late May and early June of 2006. The "Lancelot" flat is small but attractive and the location is ideal with the Picasso museum, Hotel de Ville and Notre Dame close by. It's a nice neighborhood and the flat also has a small kitchen. It is perfect for two to possibly four guests.

When we entered the Lancelot apartment in Marais, Paris, our children just stared for a while. Then it was a big "wow". This is a wonderfully wonderful place, wrote our 11 years old daughter to his travel diary. To be short, the place was much more personal than we expected and a family of five could easily sleep there (after we found one of the beds, it was cleverly hidden. Go and find out). The location is very good, near the Pompidou center and Notre Dame. Everything went as Isabelle promised, it is easy to recommend this. Many thanks!

My husband and I just returned {Nov/05} after spending 8 days in the Maris apartment. We have been to Paris on other occasions but this was the first time we explored this wonderful area.We really felt that we were experiencing every day life. The apartment was ideal for the two of us. Isabelle was very professional and followed up on every suggestion and was there for us when we needed her. The first trip up the 70 steps, carrying our suitcases was a challenge but after the initial trek we were fine. We shopped for the basics at the small supermarket and had a very special brunch at parisian tea salon Mariage Freres. We also had a less expensive tea on another occasion. We would recommend Sainte Chappelle with its beautiful stained windows--built in 1248. We went back in the evening for a classical concert. The apartment is well located-Blue van was great-good price and service.

One thing Joey and I agreed on was our trip to Arromanche and the Normandy landing beaches was very very nice. Isabelle - We had an absolutely fabulous time in Paris. We felt quite at home in your apartment . . . it was the perfect size for a family with two adult-aged children and we loved being in the Marais area of Paris. We valued being in a historic area and loved the feeling of living in such an old building. We came to love the neighborhood and of course we had our own favorite shopkeepers and boulangeries! We even enjoyed the stairs - - - it made us feel as if we were earning our delicious French desserts! I am so glad that I found your information on the web and that everything worked out. We treated the apartment as if it was our own and tried to leave it all in perfect condition. Thank you again, Isabelle. Sincerely, Leslye

I spent 2 weeks in the Marais, 1 bedroom appartment in July. As someone has preferred appartments to hotels for many years, I found this one exceptionally well equipped and furnished (I was especially pleased to find a proper hairdryer and iron - a girl wants to look her best in Paris!). The location was fabulous. Within easy walking distance of many of the major sites incl Notre Dame, the Latin Quarter, the Louvre, etc, etc. It was an absolute delight to stroll back along the river every evening and the nights when I didn't fancy walking, the selection of cafes and restaurants in the Marais itself is superb. Isabelle was very helpful and welcoming and very flexible around arrival and departure times, unlike most hotels. The appartment is a real home from home and I'm sure was a major factor in making the holiday so special. I really cannot recommend it highly enough and am already looking forward to returning at some point.
