We went to Maui to celebrate my sister's 60th Birthday. The condo was perfect for the three of us. Very comfortable and well stocked with a wonderful ocean view. Though the location is very central, there aren't many restaurants or grocery stories in close proximity.

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

About to check out of this condo in a few hours so I thought I will give it a review while it is still fresh in my mind. Firstly Dorothy was so nice and accommodating it was a true pleasure dealing with her. Very communicative and pleasant. The condo itself is located right on the water and the view is breathtaking. It was breezy and pleasant, so air conditioning is not an issue. We were a family of six with four kids and two adults, it was exactly right. Only downside was that the master is not really segregated from the living room, aside from a Japanese sliding door, which does not really give a lot of privacy. All in all the condo was clean, well equipped and gave us a home away from home. Would recommend this unit wholeheartedly.

wow what a place, central, relaxed, but not so far away from the action. The beach a five minute walk away, is just gorgeous, not crowded. We seen whales one day while enjoying our coffee on the lanai, lots of sea turtles, People fishing, the boats coming in and out of the harbor. The photos do not do the veiw justice. Sun rise every morning, while enjoying coffee. The condo was clean, well maintained, with everything we needed for our stay, with a few extras. Dorothy answered all of our questions, sent us websites of what to see and do while there. We recommend the property and go see it all, the road to Hana, drive up the volcano. We will be back... everyone there in Maui was so great

The Perfect Place To Stay!

Although this was our 12th trip to Maui, this was our first stay in Ma'alea. What a beautiful condo! Both the master bedroom and living room face the ocean, which was just 30 feet away. Everything was provided, and Dorothy was a pleasure to deal with. An amazing cross-breeze kept us very comfortable every day. If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful area in Maui, this is the place to be. Our experience went way beyond our expectations. Thank you again, Dorothy. We can not wait to get back!

Summary: We stayed for 6 days and had everything we needed. The kitchen, laundry room, bathrooms, and bedrooms were all very well stocked with a variety of convenient tools and supplies to make things more comfortable. Pricing was very reasonable, though not the lowest available. The location was excellent, very central. Each of the places we visited were roughly equidistant, a short drive (Except Hana). The condo is on the first floor with a view of the bay, and access to the water. Dorothy was very, very accommodating. Other condos gave very strict deadlines and steep demands, where Dorothy showed incredible flexibility, really going above and beyond to meet our needs at every turn, wherever possible. Swimming/Sunbathing isn't ideal, the shoreline is very rocky in this area, though a 5 minute walk puts you on a very nice sandy beach with some mild waves. We had 6 people staying, 4 singles and a couple. Sleeping was pretty tight, everyone wanted their own bed and we were 1 short. Visitors should expect 3 beds (4 if king is converted to 2x twins) with minimal privacy. It would be most ideal to stay with 2 couples (1x queen, private room; 1x king, private room) or 1 couple with 2-4 children. One member of our party found the decor to be outdated, not to her liking, but she's picky about that sort of thing. None of the rest of us had any issue. All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay.

This is a fantastic place. It is easy to get to from anywhere on the island. Very clean. Very accomodating. Perfect for the family or couple. The views from this place are great. Beach access was not readily available but we did not mind. The best beaches and snorkeling are by the high priced places so we loved staying here and branching out. We went to Hana, Haleakala, Wailea, and Lahaina so this was a perfect place. Highly recommended!

Everything was great except there was no air conditioning and fridge does not work as efficiently as possible. Owner left nice note indicating how to contact if any problems which was appreciated.

Owner response:Purchased a new refrigerator today. It was on it's last leg :) Our unit is not equipped with an air conditioner. Situated oceantront most of the time sea breezes keep it comfortable and our average highs are only 85 degrees. Thank you for your review and I'm happy everything else was great. Aloha!

Beautiful Condo! Very homey, comfortable and well stocked, had everything we needed! It is steps away from the ocean with a pool only a couple doors down. We came with a group of four 20-30 year olds and had the time of our life. The condo was clean, very well stocked and homey. Upon entering we were astonished at the view and pretty much did everything on the lanai that is literally steps to the water. I would highly recommend this condo. Great price for groups, far enough away from the tourist traps but close enough to drive to anywhere on the island. Thanks again Dorothy!

As a family, we were looking for a vacation spot that would enable us to spend quality time together and still offer a wide range of activities. We found that perfect combination in Maalaea, Maui. Our condo at Lauloa Resort was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We felt instantly at home. Directions to the condo were concise, maps of the island and phone numbers to reach the condo owner were provided, bedding and towels were plentiful. Spacious bedrooms, 2 large bathrooms, a fabulous lanai steps from the ocean, a nice sized pool that we had to ourselves most of the time and quiet nights with a cool breeze so that air-conditioning was unnecessary made this condo fantastic. The kitchen was wonderful. We could prepare our own healthy meals at a cost equal to shopping at home. As some resorts we visited seemed crowded, we began to appreciate the quiet relaxing atmosphere we had at our condo. Our condo was also centrally located on the island which was one of the biggest assets. Most towns and beaches were less than 30 minutes away in every direction so we were able to see it all. Kahului was the place for all our grocery needs, and the closeness made frequent trips for fresh goodies such as pineapple (the best we’ve ever tasted) a breeze. Lahaina, and Paia were great for shopping, as were the resorts of Wailea and Kaanapali. Watching the sun set on Haleakala, hiking in the mystic forest and swimming in waterfalls on the road to Hana were unforgettable. The beaches were spectacular. Mekena, Kaanapali, Wailea, Napili, Baldwin, DT Fleming, and Honolua Bay were just a few of our very favorite ones. Maui was more than we could have ever dreamed of and our condo (home base) was a large part of this most wonderful vacation. Warm sunny mornings starting with breakfast on our Lanai and the quiet evenings we spent replaying the day’s adventures while feasting on sumptuous barbecued meals with the ocean just a few steps away were amazing. We recommend this condo as it will ensure a great vacation.

Ten days in paradise

Our vacation was perfect, much to the location of your beautiful condo at Lauloa Resort. It was just right for us four adults and eveyone had a great time. We woke each day to a glorious sunrise and watched whales playing just outside the patio. It was close to all our activities (and we did them all!) and we loved being able to walk to the Harbour Shops. I would go back again and again. Located within blocks of the harbor were you can board snorkeling, fishing and whale watching boats. Shopping and restaurants are also within walking distance. We watched the whales right from the patio all day long and enjoyed the quiet setting just steps from the sea wall, there is also a very nice beach just a few blocks away to roam on. Clean with plenty of room for 2 couples. This is a very nice location and I would recommend it, we hope to return soon. thank you

This was my second time to say in this area of Maui. I love the quietness of the area. The condo was perfect for our needs of two couples and a baby. It is also a great jumping off place for our destinations. Being able to enjoy early mornings sitting on the lani and late nights doing the same without any sounds other than the ocean was great. The Waterfront resturant down the street is a must! Last time in the area I ignored the shops down the street and this time discovered them. They were great.

Home Away From Home

This place was the BEST place for ANY family!!!! My daughter and I spent the best week of our life in this lovely condo. We aren't interested in glitz and glamor....we just wanted to have a fantastic and relaxing week in paradise. THIS WAS IT!!!!!! It was beautiful, easy living. A majestic view with comfortable ease. The location is centrally located and offers a welcome feeling when coming back from a day on Maui. Easy access to Maalea harbor and all of its activities....and only minutes away from the tourist spots of Kihei and Lahaina (without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle). Making coffee and watching the sun rise over Haleakala each morning was the highlight of the day. If you are looking for a no stress alternative to hotel living on your vacation.....I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful property.
