Just steps to a private beach access or sound access for kayaking and boating. This beach is quiet and relaxed year-round. Vaulted ceilings and spacious bedrooms allow you to enjoy the beach without giving up the comforts of home. Perfect for families or small groups, off the main road on a quiet cul de sac. Enjoy evening strolls and bike rides in our private community without the stress of traffic and cars.
We completed a renovation project on our house and I have to say it looks really beautiful with all a new kitchen, tiled floors and screened in area downstairs for outdoor dining and play. The screened area is not shown in the photos yet. There are 2 very large tiled bathrooms and a separate laundry room. There are no ocean views from the house as we are in the Maritime forest completely surrounded by live oak trees. You can hear the ocean waves. Our neighborhood "Island Oaks is very private, quiet and beautifully planted. It has about 75 homes. It’s great for kids as we are on a cul de sac and there is almost no traffic. There is a sound front park, boat launch and gazebo and picnic area. The Island is 7 houses wide at our spot and we are in the middle. Our neighborhood is connected to two other neighborhoods with paths for walking and biking.
Our house is a very comfortable year round beach house. There are 3 bedrooms all of which have queen size beds. One of the bedrooms also has a bunk bed. The house sleeps a total of 8 people. The topsail beach area is a very quiet, family oriented beach. Our beach is very clean and quiet. The water is clear and beautiful. There is surfing. There is also a sound side beach in the next town with beautiful ocean water and no waves which is great for the littlest ones. There is shopping, pier and restaurants less than 2 miles away but for the most part it's a quiet place to unwind. The beaches are beautiful, the community access is private and very close to your front door, and the sound access is equally close and beautiful. There is one street to cross to get to the ocean access. It’s less than a 5 minute walk thru lovely homes and gardens in the maritime forest covered with live oak trees to either. The island has great fishing if anyone in your party enjoys that. There is also a Sea turtle rescue hospital that is very interesting and educational. There is a roller-skate ring. There is a bike path that runs the length of the island if you are cyclists or the children are. The beaches are some of the cleanest and most peaceful on the coast.

We had the best time in Surf City and the beach cottage is very comforable and OPEN! It has everything you need. The very large outdoor shower made it super easy (expecially when you have little ones full of sand). The neighborhood was friendly and beautiful. We've been all over the Carolina beaches and Surf City is by far the most beautiful we've seen. This area is super laid back and family friendly but still has a great deal to do. There are many local restaurants, mini golf, shops, pubs - mostly all local, not chain businesses, which makes it very quaint. Topsail Beach is a very interesting area with lots of history including a museum and a sea turtle rescue hospital and it's only a few minutes up the road from Surf City.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

This is a great home with a quite family community and great access to an amazing beach and the sound as well, and this home is beautiful and has everything you need for a great vacation. Joan is very nice and helpful and honest on every detail of the house and the area. This is truly a nice beach home for you and your family. I will definitely go back for another vacation.

Loved this tastefully decorated, well appointed, comfortable getaway! We all enjoyed the roomy sitting area with comfy couch, large round dining table, warm fire, and gorgeous original artwork. Owner was so nice and very easy to work with. We look forward to coming back for a longer stay.
