Second time here - just as great as the first time! Hiked the Kelsey trails, Redwoods, etc. - love it here! Wonderful coming back to the house on the river - thank you for all the comforts. We will be back!

Once again, a lovely stay at BMH - peaceful location, quiet neighborhood & captivating river views. We recommend the Stony Creek Trail & a stop-by visit to Madame Gasquet's grave. Hours spent floating on air matresses, reading on the deck, then a short walk for an ice cream cone. Thanks so much Jerry, for sharing your BMH Lodge. We are already planning a longer stay next year as well as a winter get-away to see the higher water mood of the Smith.

Thank you. My family & I had a wonderful time in your beautiful home. We saw river otters, cray fish & went to the Oregon Caves. My dad wants to come back & go steelhead fishing as he has not caught a steelhead since 2009. The river view was amazing. We love all the windows & sky light as they provide so much additional light. Hopefully we will make it back to your cozy cabin sometime in the near future. Cheers

Jerry, Thank you for allowing our family to stay in your home. We had a wonderful trip. It was way too short, next time we need to stay longer. My husband and son-in-law are definitely going to bring their fishing gear next trip so they can be on the wall of fame. My daughter and my three grandchildren had a blast swimming in the water. They even got me in to take a dip....in my clothes. You gotta love family!

The rental is quiet, clean, relaxing, roomy, and right on the river. It's located near lots of fishing, hiking, boating, and other recreational areas. Wonderful!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Owner response: Thank you Cathy and family. This is their second stay in two years and they told me they will be back next year. However, they do have first chance to book July 4th. Jerry

Wish we could take the rain back to Kansas. Appreciated having a home to relax in and the kitchen so well supplied. Also thanks for the tip about the Chart Room - ate there 3 times and loved the food! People everywhere were so cordial! Would like the rest of our families to enjoy the area too.

What a wonderful escape! Less than 2 hours from home and so comfortable we feel right at home. The house was lovely, more space than two people need but what a value! We will be back, maybe in summertime so that it is even closer to Bill's childhood memories. Thanks Jerry

Jerry, Thank you for sharing this special location. Although not far from our home near the Rogue River, it is far enough to relax & get away from daily obligations. The Smith has a different smell, taste & dynamic ... We love it also ... We were able to spend some time at a couple of favorite ole swimming holes and enjoy warm evenings & morning walks thru quiet peaceful neighborhoods. Thank you for being dog-friendly. We'll be back. Thanks for a great stay. Beautiful location and very comfortable accommodations. Our little girl loved playing on the deck. We used to stay at the Wagon Wheel until they closed 10 years ago and have been looking for a good base for summer fishing operations ever since. We hope to come again next year. Just a quick note to let you know how much we love this place. From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcome and at home. It is so relaxing to just be comfortable and not have to read through pages of "do's and don'ts". We spend a lot of time cooking and your kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed. It was also nice to have some essentials (coffee, sugar, etc) and we hope it is alright for us to leave some staples for those that follow. We have stayed at several other rentals and this by far is our favorite. Thanks for making our vacation so relaxing. Owners comment: They enjoyed their stay so much that they extended from 7 days to 10.

Thank you for the wonderful 2 days. We've enjoyed the deck, most of the timewas spent there, watching the river, listening to birds and reading. The kitchen was great, well stocked for our needs. We could tell much love was put into this place and continues for your future guests. We have to leave this relaxing time, but San Fran awaits. Thanks to you we will enter the "big city" with a sense of calm and enjoy the rest of our vacation.

Loved our visit. We spent three wonderful days here. The house is far enough to be out of the coastal fog, but near enough to visit. The redwoods are beautiful. Loved the wifi. The deck was perfect for enjoying a glass of wine. In the evening we watched fish jumping in the river.

We love your place! It was so much more than we expected - more comfy, more beautiful, more spacious, more private, more homey touches - just more spectacular than we could have wished for! Have stayed at BMH at Gasquet over 100 nights in the last 10 years. Would stop going to the Smith if I could not stay at BMH. One comment on the pictures though...the 22# steelie caught was actually a spawned out Salmon.....I was there.

We left the desert to spend Christmas at this lovely cabin in beautiful surroundings. It felt like home the minute we walked in the door. The first night we put up our tree, lights and gathered ornaments along the way on our hikes and walks. Thank you for our home away from home.

What a fine job you do! It has been a lovely stay here, yes it's beautiful, but your cabin is also very well stocked and incredibly well maintained. It felt quite luxurious to sit on the deck & drink margaritas. Thank you so much. Mary and the girls.

Brother visiting from Colorado, new parents with 4 month old baby girl. Had a full house, but the place accomodated us quite well. Made several trips to the coast and south to Eureka. Lots to do and see. We could be content just staying here & doing nothing! Keep an eye out for a pair of lumbering & silly otters that go past the house in the river turning rocks and feeding on frogs or crawdads. Caught a nice brook trout (10-12in.) in the hole 200 yards downstream, having that for lunch. Any way many thanks BMH Lodge and farewell! Jesse & Family

We had the wonderful opportunity to end our summer fun with a two day stay at this cabin. We spent our days catching frogs, playing cards, fishing, swimming, sun set dinners and days of lounging on the back deck. The cabin was cozy with all that we needed. Hope to be back many more times. This sweet cabin is a wonderful getaway spot. We sat on the deck and watched the river, took walks, found a good swimming hole and basically had a wonderfully relaxing time. The cabin is spacious and allowed 6 of us to spread out and not feel crowded. Great cabin, great time!

What a romantic place to just sit back and relax. Quiet, serene, beautiful. Sitting on the deck watching the river roll by is a beautiful way to relax. Weather was wonderful and we will be back.

Two of us were there for a week in July 2009. The weather was perfect, the cabin was very clean, and the furnishings and the deck are very comfortable. I can easily see how the cabin would accomadate 4-8 people quite easily, and kids would love it. The Smith river is unbelivably clean and quite pleasant to go swimming in. Qasquet is a great town if your in to doing nothing except relaxing, and Creasant City is close enough (20 miles) so you can find everything you need -- even if that's a Casino. Thanks for allowing us to have one of the best vacations of our life. We will be back.

Jerry, We have rented many different cabins around Gasquet & Crescent City for the past 12 years. This place is very comfortable for our family of five. We like the rustic feel. The river view is super, we saw three hooded mergansers and babys feeding on the water and under water. Shannon saw a very cool wood pecker going into the fir tree with no top and a big nest hole between the deck and the river by the BBQ. The BBQ was very good, we did ribs, chicken, burgers, very quickley and fed some extended family for great diners. We had some good river time. We will be going home tired, but had a great time. We hope to be calling you to reserve next year at this time. Thanks again, Glen, Shannon, Nathan, Morgan & Colton.
