This was a great property with all the amenities we could wish for ... one could even listen to the ocean at night. It was clean and cozy and well maintained and a good place to be near restaruants / beaches etc but not in the middle of a town. The owner was available and very helpful. Beautiful ! We were very happy with our stay.

This cottage is awesome!! Never seen a kitchen so stocked! It was clean and very quite, away from the crowds. Made you feel like you lived there! We were able to walk across the street to the picnic tables and watch the sunrise every morning! There is a paved walking trail just to the right of the house where you could walk for a long way. This house reminds me of a 50's beach cottage with such charm. There was 4 of us adults and we had no problem what so ever. Larry.....your the guy! So friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back because we will always stay at this house!!!!

My adult son & I stayed at the Beach Cottage for 11 days & it probably took us 10 min to settle in. The owner happily greeted us upon our arrival & asked if we needed anything - to just let him know. We found the photos accurately reflected the rental's appearance. We found the island decorated cottage had a well supplied kitchen, plenty of beach towels, and extras such as beach umbrella, beach chairs, mats, & coolers. There is a BBQ w/counter & sink off the front lanai making cooking & wave-watching easy to enjoy. There is an outdoor fresh water shower & hose for rinsing off snorkeling gear, etc., We spent each morning with coffee on the beach watching the sunrise, along with several of the locals nearby. There was hardly a time without a mom & her baby on the beach. Its a very family friendly beach. We found the beds comfortable and the sheets soft & of very good quality. Primarily a locals residential area, there are a few rentals. We enjoyed hearing the laughter of the family living in the house behind the beach cottage. We walked throughout the area & easily found anything we needed. This site has easy access to the main highway and to the north, south, or southwest sides of the island. I will certainly try to schedule another vacation stay at the Beach Cottage.

This cottage was just what we were looking for - a comfortable and cozy home away from home. It is right across the street from a "locals" beach (not much of a snorkeling/swimming beach, but still nice to dip into and hear the waves) and its in regular neighborhood far from heavily populated and touristy spots, so you can really relax. It was also perfectly situated near the airport, and halfway between Poipu and Princeville. And there are several grocery stores very close by, as well as a wonderful walking path along the beach where you can walk into historic downtown Kapaa. The cottage has everything you need, and other thoughtful additional items that you may not have even thought of (like a cooler, beach umbrella, french press for coffee, ear plugs for the roosters). This cottage will be an integral part of our happy memories from this trip. Next time we go to Kauai, we will DEFINITELY try to stay here again.

The location of the cottage is great - just across a quiet street from the beach (very safe beach for young children). Walking distance to historic Kapaa town and the beginning of the bike trail. The two bedroom cottage is large enough for a family and is very clean and modestly quaint. Everything you might need is supplied (beach chairs and towels, cookwear, plates, etc) We look forward to returning with our two children in the future!

The cottage was a perfect size. When we arrived it reminded me of my childhood summer days in Lexington, MI, staying at my grandparents cottage that had a smaller cottage, just for the grand kids, directly behind it. My wife and I spent 5 nights there during our visit to the Island of Discovery. The location was great to take trips to either the north or south shore. Everything you need is within blocks of the cottage. We stocked up on groceries from Safeway. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils you could need and the size was adequate for a home cooked meal. The locals around the area we very pleasant and welcoming. At first, my wife wasn't so sure of the location and the cottage but quickly warmed up to it and later talked about our next visit to Kauai and our next stay at the Moanakai Cottage. Already, after the second day and after coming back to the cottage from one of our adventures on the island, I felt as if I was coming home. Larry, our/your host, is a very pleasant and interesting man. I stopped to chat with him one of the days and ended up having conversations with him for almost two hours. You feel like family or at the least long time friends. Looking for things to do? The Coconut Marketplace is great for buying soveniers and don't forget to have a Hawaiian shaved ice. Just down the road towards the airport is the Smiths family luau, plan ahead they book up fast. We went kayaking with Duke's kayak adventures and Hawaiian Village tour with guide Andy. Explored the Na Pali Coast with Na Pali Explorer tours and snorkel (they have Sunday tours). We took the morning tour, the drive to Waimea is about an hour and the tour starts early but well worth it (ask for capt. Sean!). Plenty of great snorkeling off the beaches in the north shore, get to Tunnels beach! Kauai Coffee is on the south shore, very relaxing and free samples, I shipped coffee all over the place! We needed more time to see everything. TIP: When renting a car at the airport, really think about the Jeeps if you want to explore the mountains and water falls. Our next visit we will rent a Jeep and do some hiking, tell you more later If your looking for a nice, quiet little place just off the beach, look no further, you've found it! If you are the resort type and want to be pampered poolside, try the south shore resorts. As for recommending this location, I'm torn. The more people that know about it and stay here the harder it will be to get a booking for our future trips.

We were thrilled with this cottage! We could hear the ocean from the bedroom and see the waves from the porch. The baby beach was perfect for our 1 year old and there’s a great coastal walking/bike path that starts just at the end of the road. The cottage itself was fabulous, we couldn’t believe how well stocked it was- everything you could ever need for a beach vacation was there, from towels to beach toys to coolers. The roosters were pretty loud but that’s a fact anywhere on Kauai. The back neighbors were very close so we could hear them easily, but they were never loud late at night. Larry (the owner) was friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend this rental!

This has far been the best most relaxing & adventurous trip to the Island. Kauai is by far the best of the four I've now visited. Larry, as our host, was a true pleasure and made us feel like cherished friends. Waking every morning to the sound of the surf was exactly what I wanted and more than I found. I truly treasure the friendliness and Love of all the locals and visitors I met while here. Till I return I will count the days I return. Mahalo & A good life.

Larry, what a little treasure you have here, I planned this trip quickly, and fortuned ally remembered you were there (on Kauai), I had not expected, other than a safe place to rest my head... Wow! Was I surprised? Next time, I'll bring recipes and someone I want to cook for. Floating in the ocean at sunrise is exquisite here. Thank you for all the love, well tended details...much appreciation & respect, Rea
