My boyfriend (who became my Fiancé by the end of the trip) and I stayed in this apartment for 5 nights in June 2011. The owner Eric, was more than helpful during the booking process and sent us additional photos. Nora who met us to show us the apartment and give us keys asked that we text her once we landed and she was there waiting when our taxi pulled up. You walk through a courtyard to the apartment which is on ground level – you walk in on the stair landing and have to take a few down to the living room/bedroom or up to the kitchen and bathroom. The living room has a pull out which was more comfortable than the hotel bed we had on our next stop to Milan! The kitchen has a fridge which was really useful for keeping cheese, meats and wine closed when we would have our own “happy hour” before heading out for the night. The location of this apartment could not be beat! Ile Saint-Louis is an amazing little island with a variety of shops, on the seine and other major sights in Paris. There are no metros on the island but there are all around once you cross a bridge. Yes, the apartment is small, but the description does give you the size in square meters so we weren’t surprised when we walked in. If you are staying for an extended time in Paris, want to spend a lot of time in your room, need closet space or your own personal space – this might not be the best apartment for you. This was our first time renting an apartment from home away and we were in the centre of Paris and didn’t care! My husband and I would stay in this apartment again.Owner response: Dear Erika It was a pleasure to welcome you in our apartment in Saint Louis island. I'm glad that you appreciate your stay in the studio. See you soon Eric & Maylis

Let's begin with the fact that this apartment is in a wonderful location. It's central to everything and completely safe at night. Also the courtyard of the building is lovely and I was tempted to sleep there after seeing the apartment. Lol Okay, so this apartment is smaller then a walk in closet. You walk into a 3x4 platform with stairs going down to a 9 x 11 room at most. The very old pull out futon takes up the entire space when open. No room for our suitcases, bags, to walk.....anything. Plus its below ground level so essentially your in the basement, it smelled musty and wet. We also had an ant problem. Close the front door but hold on so you don't fall down the stairs, to go upstairs to a "kitchen" and bathroom. The kitchen is functional, but the bathroom rit beside the kitchen, does not have a fully closing sliding door. Make sure you privacy isn't a big deal for you. The shower was tiny but fine, however hot water is gone after 10 minutes, so we had to split up our showers by 30 minutes.annoying. My biggest issue was the apartment was not professionally cleaned before we arrived. The woman who met us was very nice, but not a maid. She gave us clean sheet and damp towels and that was it. We saw the previous guests leave and no cleaning was done. There was used soap in the shower, shower mat was used by previous guests and we were left with a half a roll of toilet paper. An email about this went unanswered. I don't think we are asking a lot for a clean apartment when we arrive. I've rented 3 apartments from home away and this was the very first time that the apartment was so mis-represented. The previous guests were two backpackers and in think this would be great for them, it's cheap and private so a step up from a hostel. However for a couple who likes to walk around the bed rather than jump into it, a bathroom with a functional door, a clean apartment, a place to hang a coat, and dry towels this is not the place for you. I've never had to give a bad review, but this was the case of an owner deceiving his guests.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 10/10

Yes, this studio is very small, but all is there and it has very nice details in the design. The contrast between the white living room and the stone walls and wooden beams upstairs is very nice. And the raised kitchen and shower room form a brilliant solution to make the most of the room and for having all functions there. There are a few imperfections; most of all I missed a (small) dining table and chair and a cabinet for my clothes. But I have to be honest: I wouldn't really know where to put the cabinet really and there was a peg upstairs with some hangers. And again, all is there: fast wifi connection, a good kitchen with goodies like a two plate induction hub, microwave and a Nespresso machine, a bit of design in the bathroom with a good shower. Even a huge TV, which I never used, because I spent my evenings far better strolling around the wonderful city. Being on the Isle of Saint Louis is a tremendous plus! This location is in the heart of Paris and still you will find that it is a very quiet place, but the Marais, Saint Michel, Louvre, all within walking distance and its just great to go out in the evening and walk to Trocadero to see the Eiffel Tower with its sparkling lights and then walk back to your own private studio. The studio is on the ground floor at a wonderful courtyard. I met some of the neighbours in the buil;ding, very nice. During the proces of booking the studio I had e-mail contact with Eric, the owner, and that worked out just fine. And on arrival I met the caretaker, Nora, who was very friendly and helpful. I recommend this studio expecially for one person, or two if your really like each other! I called this "my tiny palace" for a week and just did a booking for a whole month next year. Small as it is, this is a great one!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 12/12

We traveled as a couple to Paris and rented this studio for our holidays end of August; the place might be small, but there is everything you need for a cozy stay. And you don’t need more if you’re planning on visiting Paris anyway. Especially as the price is quite cheap for its location and for Paris standards (so you can spend more on shopping!). It was clean, with fast wifi, a small kitchen and TV. Location is perfect, walking distance from some of Paris most attractive neighborhoods and touristic places. I would definitely recommend this studio for one person or a couple coming to Paris to enjoy the city.Owner response: Thank you Flavia. I'm glad that you appreciated your stay in Paris. See you soon, Eric

My wife and I arrived in Paris beginning of October and I have to admit that were very lucky to find this place. This studio is located in the middle of Paris so it is very convenient if you want to visit the most touristic places of the capital. Metro and buses are nearby the accommodation; in addition to that you can find a lot of charming restaurant and Cafe in L'Ile Saint Louis. The neighborhood was very friendly (even if they don't speak English very well !!!) and Nora (the person we met at our arrival) was also very kind and she did everything she could to accommodate ourself. With regard to the apartment itself, the place is a bit small but you will find everything you need to feel comfortable... Kitchen, TV, Free WIFI... The bed was comfortable and the place very clean. Of course do not expect to get more than a hotel; except the fact that you are in a prestigious area and the price is really reasonable if you compare with the hotel around... We will definitely go back again if we have to stop by Paris... Thank you again for this wonderful week :-)Owner response: Thank you Francois - Hope to see you guys again very soon Eric CHAMBRE
