The GRISHAM HOUSE: AVALON'S ONLY WATERFRONT BEACH HOUSE!
You can throw a stone into the water from our fantastic balcony deck with spectacular and sweeping 270 degree views overlooking the beach, the town, the harbor and the ocean. There is no finer spot to sit and people watch or relax with a glass of wine as the sun sets over the charming town of Avalon.
This family owned vacation home offers you the BEST location in town; only steps away from the sand and swimming, shopping, restaurants and bars and all the recreational activities and sightseeing tours. We are also a very short, 2 minute level stroll from where the ferry docks.
Our property is 3 stories (No elevator) and is a classic, older, comfy beach house. On the ground floor are a couple retail clothing shops, a jet ski rental, an ocean rafting company and a psyhic. The middle floor (14 steps up) is our larger vacation rental (vrbo #65480) and this unit is on the top (3rd) floor 14 additional steps up from the middle unit.
This unit is like a small 1 bedroom apartment and offers a separate bedroom with queen bed, a bathroom w/ stall shower and a small living room with a queen sofa bed. This unit is ideal for a romantic couple getaway or a family with 1-2 children. 2 couples will feel a little tight; although we've certainly have 4 adults stay with us. There is a fully contained kitchen with newer appliances. In the living room is a TV with cable; DVD/VCR player and iPod player. 2 sets of sliding glass doors open onto the large wraparound deck with spectacular 270 degree views. For eating there are 3 bar stools at the breakfast counter plus a table for 4 on the front deck. There is a gas BBQ on the side deck. BBQ and dine on the deck while you enjoy spectacular views. We also now have free wireless internet access.
A downstairs storage room contains 2 bikes, sets of golf clubs, various basketballs and volleyballs and a small shopping cart for groceries.
WHY STAY ANYWHERE ELSE? Our property may be older, but it offers you the BEST location; the BEST beachfront view decks in town; and the very BEST vacation rental value for your money. We get many repeat guests year after year; you'll see why!
NOTE: The middle floor offers four bedrooms and three baths and can sleep up to 10 with children. (See vrbo #65480). For large family vacations the entire property can be rented to accommodate 14.
NO PETS and NO SMOKING. 4 Person MAXIMUM. 2 NIGHT MINIMUM. We do not have a golf cart.

AAAA+++ This rental is even better than the pictures or description. It was clean, updated, cozy, and perfectly located. It was quiet, peaceful, fun, and extremely convenient for walking, restaurants, groceries, golf carts, or a movie. The night movie at the Casino was a treat and the walk back was special with the bay, boats, and Christmas lights. Two different family's stayed in the unit below and both were transparent. New Years Eve was fun; especially watching from the deck! If you get a chance to visit, This Is The Place! We'll definitely be back. A BIG THANKS to the Grisham's for making their little piece of paradise available for all to enjoy! :)

We stayed at this lovely Catalina get-a-way just after the 4th of July weekend. And, we had a ball! The location is right on Avalon Bay with spectacular views. Everything is in walking disctance. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Everything was great! I can't think of a better place to stay than the Grisham House. We very much look forward to a return visit.

I'm writing this as an addition to the review of the unit below. My husband & I got married here in May of 2011 and had both units rented. We had only family for our wedding so we all stayed at The Grisham house to be close to each other. This unit was great because it offered privacy and separation from the bottom unit but convenient enough to come down and party with the rest. Completely stocked with all the appliances we needed, all we had to do was go to the grocery store. Amazing views of the harbor and the Casino, wow!!! You will have an amazing time here and you will do it at your own pace which is what vacations are all about. Everything was great and we couldn't have asked for better. Thank you Grisham family for having the most desirable spot on the island!

Perfect cottage for 2. Four people would be tight sleeping. Very quiet at night and lots to watch during the day, as well as a fabulous view from the deck. All Kitchen amenities to make your meals AND short walking distance to everything in town including several great restaurants (so you don't have to). The owner let us in early. No air conditioning but a fan in the bedroom. Could be warm during a heat wave, but lots of windows to get a good breeze. We loved it and can't wait to come back with friends to try the larger downstairs apartment. Would definitely stay again!
