Accommodations:  Cottage, 3 Bedrooms + Sunroom, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)

Our recently updated, three-bedroom, Night Heron Cottage is only 250 yards to the beach access. It is also directly adjacent to the 21-acre Night Heron Park which includes the nature center, Kamp Kiawah, playing fields for soccer or football, volleyball court, lighted basketball court, and a large sandy playground for young children. During the summer, there is frequently night time entertainment and activities in the park.

Our cottage is comfortable and well-appointed. The living room and enclosed sunroom have been updated with hardwood floors. The sunroom, with a full-size futon, gives extra room and has its own TV giving children a place to themselves. The living room has a 27-inch TV with VCR/DVD player. Limited children's games are supplied and a Nintendo 64 with selected games is available.

There is a front deck with bench seating and a rear deck with access from the master bedroom. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, private bath, and television. The front and back bedrooms have twin beds and share a bathroom. The kitchen with tile floor has generous supplies for cooking. Unlike villas and condominiums, there is covered parking beneath the unit and enough room for three cars.

We provide a list of amenity phone numbers including restaurants, shopping and golf courses to help you plan your vacation. Bike and beach chair rental is available. There are 4 golf courses on the island and 1 located immediately off of the island available for your play. Enjoy the brand-new, Freshfields Village, shopping area located two miles from the security gate for your food and entertainment.

The comfortable feel of the cottage will make you feel at home. The close access to both the beach and night heron park activities is a bonus. The quiet cul-de-sac provides greater safety for children. Bike paths and jogging trails are abundant.

  • I cannot tell you how much I loved, loved your home on Kiawah. I loved every inch of it. I loved the decorations, I loved the furniture, the skylights, the mugs---everything. We had a wonderful week with great weather except the last day, which was fine, as my daughter and I drove into Charleston and gorged on pralines. I loved how bright the cottage was and absolutely loved the little sunporch. That is the first and only futon I've ever seen that I was crazy about. And I loved the carpet. And the wood floors. And that adorable and so-comfortable red leather chair! And the location. I even loved the giant spiders and spider webs---amazing. We've been going to Kiawah for two weeks at a time for years now, and this was the first one-week only vacation for a long time. That was really kind of depressing and I am still in post-vacation blues, but I'm going to work extra shifts to go for two weeks next year! Such a beautiful, beautiful, peaceful place. Thank you again for letting us rent your home and hopefully we will be in touch!

  • Just a brief note to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your condo last week. It is beautifully furnished and very functional. Proximity to the beach and location on a cul-de-sac can't be beat. We have stayed at another Night Heron Cottage in the past, and everyone commented how much nicer your condo was...it must be one of the best...we loved the closed-in porch and the sky lights.   • This is a wonderful house! A decorator's dream. We loved the sunroom. The location is centrally located to all activities on the island. We have been coming to Kiawah for 12 years and this house is one of the best houses we have stayed in. We would defintely rent this house again!
