Enjoy Gulf Coast Florida living at Casa Caladesi, a lovely vacation rental home right on the water graced by palm trees and sunsets. The house has all the water and sun you need from the organic shaped pool, the six person outdoor jacuzzi, the deep-water canal complete with boat dock right outside your door and of course the turquoise blue of the Gulf of Mexico.
THE HOUSE
Your home away from home includes three lovely sunny bedrooms, each with distinctly different character. The Camino Room has terrazzo floors and a luxurious king sleigh bed perfect for lazy mornings or afternoon naps after a swim. It is light and airy has a view of the jacuzzi and pool area. The Havana Room has a tropical flair with a deep luxurious hardwood queen sleigh bed and terrazo floors. The Palm Room enjoys direct access to the back patio and deck, with views to the pool, palm trees, and Gulf water, as well as the jacuzzi. All three rooms have overhead ceiling fans to circulate the cool canal breezes.
The spacious living area can easily accommodate a large group with five couches and tile floors in a chic modern setting. One of the couches pulls out into a comfortable bed for additional accommodation.
The open floor plan allows you to flow from the living room to the dining room and full kitchen in one gracious open space. Light flows through the space all day and you never lose the view of the water.
The formal dining room boasts a direct view of the pool, canal, and Gulf waters, framed by floor to ceiling windows and an extra wide sliding glass door with luxurious velvet curtains. It is formal enough for romantic candlelight dinners yet retains that indoor/outdoor feel perfect for Sunday brunch by the pool.
Should you feel like cooking, the full kitchen adjoins the dining room and by a counter/bar for more informal dining and so that you are not separated from the fun and the sun!
Outside is the pool and jacuzzi surrounded by rustling palms and tropical plants. All through the day pelicans, ospreys, white ibis and egrets fly by, sometimes even stopping for a visit to take a peek from the edge of the boat dock. Fish, even dolphins and manatees, splash around in the canal on their way to the Gulf. It’s the perfect place for a swim or an al fresco meal at sunset. If you bring your jet skis or kayaks you can paddle on out to the Gulf in two minutes. It takes five minutes by jet ski to get to Honeymoon Island. The nearby boat club will rent all sorts of boats and jet skis.
There is an easy access pull-up dock if you need to tie up your boat or personal water-craft. The boat lift is not available for guests.

We stayed in this home in October 2005. It is GREAT. I cant wait to come back and stay for another week. I loved having a pool, jacuzzi, and a canal in the back of the home. YOu don't even need to go anywhere to have a good time.. I recommend this house to anyone.

We stayed with family and friends at this property and found it fabulous! It was clean and a very relaxed welcoming environment. It is located in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. A well maintained pool & hot tub were greatly enjoyed. The waterfront view is gorgeous. It is close to a great bike & walking/running trail that goes thru the entire county. The beach and a great State Park called Honeymoon Island is right around the corner. There are multiple outstanding restaurants and dining close by. It's all right there!. The description and amenities were accurate. The owner was very timely in all responses on our inquiries. We have highly recommended the property to our friends, family and co-workers. We've stayed at many VRBO properties before, and by far this was one of our most pleasant stays. Do not take serious note to the negative post on this property!. If you want a exceptional tropical vacation and great retreat, this is the place! We are looking forward to a future return with our family and friends.

We have visited this property 4 times over a period of 6 years, on each occasion for 2 weeks, and between late February and early April. We intend to come again. Given the time of year, the main attraction is the open design of the property, and the lovely views of the canal and surrounding waterways, always populated by an active and changing bird life. Access to the water is both safe and easy, and the journeys within the barrier islands exhilarating. Facilities within the property are entirely adequate, and it is set out for a relaxing stay both day and night time. It is spacious and comfortable inside and attractive outside. The surrounding amenities are all but a short journey away, supermarkets, eating places, golf and tennis facilities. Do hire a bike on the Pinellas Trail, do visit Honeymoon Island, do try the Sand Bar, and the local pizza house, all within 5 to 10 minutes. We love it there.

1. We arrived on Saturday about 3PM to a house that was very warm (88 degrees) and we immediately dropped the air conditioner to 76 degrees. Although the living area and the bedrooms seemed slightly cooler, the kitchen and the sunroom (eating area) was very warm. After a few hours, the kitchen and the sunroom still remained WARM. We contacted the LSI number listed and got an answering machine. We waited a few more hours with no return call. Since the neighbors happened to be outside, we asked them if they had a number for us to call. The neighbor did call the owner and he called a person to come over a try to manage the heating/cooling problem. It was now about 9PM when he arrived. He did say there was an issue with the motor which was replaced but then this motor/blower ended up running NON-STOP the entire week. By Thursday, two other men showed up to fix the air conditioner but we did not truly know if that helped the condition, we left on Saturday. The other problem with the heat was the fact that the fan in the sunroom/kitchen area only had a slow speed. This particular fan was looked at by the gentleman that LSI management sent to the house on Tuesday and he stated that it could not be fixed by him. 2. The home was livable but the floors were dirty, the sheets in the room we stayed in had long black hairs on it as well as the bathroom had long black hairs all over the floor and the bathroom rug. The kitchen cabinets had food caked on them, they need a good scrubbing! If a customer has to pay a cleaning fee, I expect to walk into a spotless home, at the minimum the sheets; bathrooms and floors need to be clean. Also noted there were broken drawers in both bedrooms. 3. The first night we had no lights in the living room and outside the front door. Also a DVD player that did not work. These were replaced on Tuesday. I did have three elderly people leaving when it was dark and it was difficult for them to see anything outside with no lights, I am just glad no one fell trying to get into their car. We also had a sink that was plugged up, fixing it the best we could. 4. There was no phone line (promised in the agreement). I had to use my cell phone which not only cost me extra money, there were dead spots and this caused the calls to be dropped (all week). 5. I do agree with the review from the “New Yorker” that stayed in the home that the grill was not food worthy. We left the house cleaner than it was when we got there.WHERE IS MY $$
Owner response:We are so sorry the guests experienced trouble with the brand new high efficiecny AC system due to a manufacturers defect (now fixed/repaired). The install Co. did respond promptly with an evening & weekend service, and managed to obtain suitable cooling acceptable to the guests. We were concerned about their comfort, and an alternative home was offered, but they wanted to stay - they loved the place so much! Accordingly, their additional comments are a surprise, and not accurate. After all, why would they inist on staying if their experience were not great? Their actions speak volumes. It is a fabulous home, and we stay there frequently, including just a few days before their arrival to be present for the install of the new AC system, so can personally attest to its condition and cleanliness. The untimely death of the Broker Owner of the Property Management Co. was a sad tradgedy, and as a result the assets of the Co. were frozen and are under management and review of the FL RE Commission. The new Property Management Co did have limited access to the records, and they show the deposit was returned. However, at the present time there is nothing the new Co. or we can do, until the FL RE Commission conlcudes its review of the defunct Co.

management company LSI in Palm Harbor was a complete nightmare. We arrived the Saturday before Easter (Myself,wife,6yr and 15mo.old ) and found that the house and no air conditioning 86*. We were unable to contact the agent for two days only to find out that the air conditioning had not worked for several months and they temporarily fixed it the four previous occasions. My family was forced to stay elswhere and the agency told me that I had to call the maintenance Co. since all agents were on vacation. With it being Ester and trying to keep my family in good spirits I found the A/C repairman and waited FOUR hours before he showed up.We then discovered broken appliances, basic TV ( DVD broken ), no window coverings ( above blue couch in pic.). broken dining table with pealing paint and burn marks, minimal hot water ( two showers ). dead/cut trees along the pool and a charcoal barbecue grill not fit for any food. There is a reason why they want you to pay more money up front its simply because they have no intention dealing with you once you realize you've been had. I received a call from Dottie K. two weeks after checking out demanding extra money for cleaning. When I mentioned the air conditioning not working and her not returning my calls, she told me that she had a right to take her own vacation and that this was the first she's heard of any problems with the house. I later received a telephone call from Eric demanding $25.00 while dishing out expletives.
Owner response:Pls remove this review! These people completely trashed my house. I would like to send you photos. But does the fact that some of the poolside furniture was IN the pool, and couches and floors were soiled with various food products, and numerous items damaged and broken, give you an idea! It is bazaar to me that the very people that physically trash your house also have the time and audacity to try and trash you on line too! I was at the home two weeks before them, and can personally attest to its great condition, inlcuding the fact that A/C was working, and that we have NOT had a prior problem with it. A service call on A/C was placed to LSI, but they tried numerous times on the number left and could not reach the guest. Their statements are completely false. It is very troubling, the kind of people that make you question the wisdom of offering short term rentals at all. Most guests leave glowing comments and notes, and LSI are great to work with. Even so, I am considering if this damage and hassle is really worth it.
