We, Jack and I, came to love the east coast of Central Florida when friends of ours moved to the Orlando area and took us to the beach. We started to look at properties on the ocean and just loved the Cape Canaveral area and beaches. Its laid back atmosphere with gentle dunes, sea grass waving in the ocean breezes; sea jade bushes embellishing the condo building structures with gracious green succulent leaves..I fell in love. I am at home on the beach an in Mother Ocean...when I am away too love she welcomes me back into her bosom with an engulfing wave. It is always a very healing and empowering time for me while there...Sunning, sitting in the surf, floating on the waves or my favorite...watching the sea gulls and sand pipers scurry along the tides late in the afternoon. Unlike other coastal cities in Florida, you can still ride bikes to the grocery store; walk to get a yogurt cone; hear good Jazz and encounter very little traffic ( that's a treat ) Our other special place is Sedona,AZ... as you can see..from our picture.
Why the Owner Chose Cape Canaveral
For us, in addition to being a laid back beach atmosphere, Cape Canaveral holds particular historic interests with regard to the Kennedy Space Center and the Shuttle launches. We have stayed in our unit to witness the magnificent launches...quite an experience of awe. We also are always amazed and delighted to watch the cruise ships arrive and depart...especially the Disney Cruise ships as they play "When You Wish Upon a Star" as they float out to sea. For us, it is truly a magical place.
The Unique Benefits of this Condominium
When we stay a the Cape, we are just 30 minutes from the Orlando aiport; 45 minutes to Disneyworld and all the other attractions e.g. Sea World, Universal, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and all the other neat stuff along the way like Ripley's Believe it or not; the Outlets...and so forth. There is the Kennedy Space Center to tour and learn from; There is the fantastic Daytona Speedway...and...Daytona Flea Market with everything imaginable being sold. We love to stop in historic Titusville on our way home from Daytona and get a homemade ice cream cone in the little ice cream shop on the main street. The newly built marina and condo complex at Harbor Pointe is breathtaking...and the nature reserve/habitat...is outstanding. To continue on...the restaurants at the Cape are great for fresh catches. You can either eat out there or bring a fresh catch home to cook. Deep sea fishing??? Great prices to go out for the day if you are a fisher-person. There is this great boat made to look like a pirate ship of old that takes people out on evening cruises...very romantic. Or, if you like to gamble...you can take the afternoon or night trip out 3 miles on the Gambling Boat Cruises...free food buffett, drinks, entertainment. We went with friends and saw a Tina Turner review on board.She was sooooo convincing that our friend through she really was Tina! We let him go for awhile because he was so excited. None of us had the heart to tell him differently. And the best kept secret is a little, somewhat obscure restaurant called Mangroves that serves the tastiest Florida lobsters, sweet, mild, and quite delicious. I get them for my birthday dinner each summer when we are there. I could go on and on...and...Cape Canaveral is one of those wonderful areas that you can still explore and find neat things if you know how to look past the surf shops. However, the surf shops are fun too!!!
