Overall the house was acceptable, it does need new carpeting, the kitchen could use a couple updates, repaint, downstairs bathroom needs to be remodeled, fireplace is in desperate need of a cleaning, lots of little things that could be updated to make this place great. It is in an excellent location, being right down the road from Ecola Park and within walking distance to downtown shops. We had a good time nonetheless, but it was not what we expected.

We had 11 folks sharing the house, which has a well-stocked kitchen and a nice view from the porch. The only thing missing was patio furniture, which no one could have guessed we'd need in February! Easy walk to town, to Ecola, and to the beach. We'll definitely stay here again.

We loved out stay at your beach house.... what a great house. We had soo much fun. The location is great.. it allowed us to walk to and from town and not have to worry about driving all of the time. The park and beach are right out your front door... We especially loved the hot tub on the big upper deck and the large Great Room with fireplace.... it's where we all gathered every evening for cocktails :) Thank you again for a memorable Spring Break

I recently spent a weekend at this house for the 2nd time. We went in Feb 2011 and March 2011. I am so glad I've found this house! It is truly in a perfect location, and it is a great house for groups of any size! This year, we went with 2 other families for 2 nights, then my wife and I and our 2 girls stayed another night alone. There was PLENTY of room for all of us! The house is set up nicely on 2 levels, with a spacious kitchen and living room upstairs. We love to cook big Cioppino dinners at the beach, and it's great to have the open space to cook and chat (and have a glass of wine :) The house is a 2 minute walk from the beach, and you can see the ocean from the main room & porch. It's also a very nice short walk to town. In between the house and beach is a great park that is very quiet...we saw a herd of Elk hanging out there last year which was wonderful! I can't recommend this house enough. The owners are great to work with. They are VERY quick to respond, even when I had some silly questions. I hope you get a chance to stay here!

A sliver of ocean can be seen from the deck because the park has a tree that blocks the majority of the view. Still, it's a beautiful view. The deck has a large grill that makes BBQ a breeze. The hot tub can accommodate 6 comfortably and was very much welcomed. The home is equipped with wi-fi (pleasant surprise!) and actually has 3 TV's not just two. There is a large dining area table that can seat at least 8 which is great for having family-style dinners. There is ample hot water so no one will run out of hot water in the morning. The walk to the ocean is 5 minutes and that is if you walk slowly - great for evening bonfires. This is simply a wonderful vacation home; rent this place and you won't regret it!

The house was wonderful, plenty of room for everyone and the hot tub was a big hit. We loved the location and the fact that we were on the quieter part of the beach - away from the crowds. The best part - We had four days of sun in April!

Dec. 28th 2007. Our family celebrated my son's 16th Birthday with five of his friends. We all loved the house and the surroundings. Spacious rooms with lovely decorations, and the most quiet, pretty part of Cannon Beach just a hop away. We all hiked to Crescent Beach trough the woods. It was such a happy time, we didn't even mind getting drenched from the rain. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us!

We had a great time. The house served us very well since there were 11 people there. Really liked the proximity to the beach and to Main street. Barbeque worked great and the hot tub was a welcome relief for the kids. Thanks for your hospitality.

Fantastic deck and new bar b que. Close to safer beach area and away from all the people. A nice short walk to the best part of Cannon Beach. Downstairs bedrooms perfect for the kids. Across from the park where kids played a lot. And the sun was out most of the time.

Hi, I just wanted to say how pleased we were with our stay at your house in Cannon Beach. It accommodated our group of 11 very well and was just across the street from where I stayed almost 40 years ago on my very first trip to the ocean. We throughly enjoyed our stay, and appreciated the comfortable beds, hot tub, and the kitchen with everything we needed to cook and serve some great meals! My only complaint is that our time went by far too fast.. Thanks for renting to us!!! Devera

If this is the same "Haystack Peek House" and it looks like it is, then we stayed here three consecutive Thanksgiving weekends (circa '98-'01.) Wonderful accommodations with a fantastic great room. No problem seating all of us at the dining table for Turkey! Chess, jigsaw puzzles, movies and intimate family talks. An easy walk to the galleries in town. Easily accommodated our parents and three couples with two young children. I'd love to go back again. The mud room with washer and dryer were especially great and the on-call maid service was also reassuring. Thank you! Oh and just a five minute walk to the beach for those spectacular sunsets.

What a great house! Very comfortable and plenty of room. We had a wonderful time cooking in (large dining table for everyone) or just walking minutes from all the great restaurants. We wish we could have stayed longer.
