Had an amazing stay in this cabin the weekend after Labor Day. The cabin was even better than the pictures portrayed. It was immaculately clean, nicely decorated, and very cozy. The delightful owners were very helpful with directions and suggestions for the area. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful two weeks at the cabin which was spotless..loved the decor! The beauty of the region was beyond our expectations. Elizabeth and Pete are very gracious/friendly/fun/helpful hosts..we cannot say enough good things about them. Helpful on information and telling us where to go in the area. Peaceful beyond belief. If we are ever fortunate to get to Maine again...we will definatley be staying here!..Thanks again Elizabeth and Pete for sharing your slice of heaven with us!!! You guys are the BEST!

I first visited Moosehead Lake in '73 when 2 friends and I came to fish. We camped on Kineo but I was most impressed with Greenville and the seaplane operations. Now, with a wife and 2 teenagers I had a long list of requirements and K2 & K1 were practically tailored to my needs, (my brothers family of 4 was behind us in K1) Both cabins are in brand-new condition and we found them to be "beyond clean"! Our hosts could not have been more hospitable. From area familiarization to helping fill our swim tubes with air, they were glad to accomodate any requests, and at the same time, giving us complete privacy. The cabins are 1 mile from the center of Greenville in a 25mph speed zone which is respected by all and extremely bicycle friendly, sidewalks and wide shoulders. We also took the boat to the town dock for ice cream. There is no dock, and we didn't use the mooring since you need only tilt your outdrive 1/4 to beach on the pebble beach. Both weber gas grills were full of propane and cleaned to "new" condition. Both fire pits were replenished daily however we never once saw Mr. Labrecque fill them. I enjoyed the loft of K2 with my cable remote while my kids enjoyed high-speed wifi at night. I can't think of 1 thing either cabin needed. We even saw moose, deer, and fox on the gravel road the cottage is located on. The majority of our time was spent right on our waterfront watching the "Katahdin" steam by and the seaplanes takeoff and land. And check this: Three of us took the boat with golf clubs 30 mins up the lake and played 18 holes at Mt Kineo golf club parking the boat at a reserved dock for golfers a nine iron distance from the pro-shop, We saw one other threesome on the course the whole time. And the scenery up and back on the boat!! This is probably one of the coolest things we EVER have done. A notable lifetime experience. 3 - 18hole greens fees plus cart=$105. Dinner for 8 including drinks at the Flatlander=$100. For breakfast, "Auntie M's", 2 over, homefries, homemade toast, bacon & coffee= $3.95 Kids loved it, we loved it, K2, don't change a thing!

Staying here was one of the best decisions I've ever made. The LaBrecques have made a restful wonderland by the shores of Moosehead Lake. My husband and I were travelling to Maine to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary- In the middle of our trip we wanted to find a lake where we could relax for a day, maybe even have our own cottage, before heading off for more sightseeing. We arranged the reservation with Elizabeth based on the pictures we saw. We arrived late in the evening, and couldn't have been more surprised. I think many people expect a little cottage to have some cobwebs, some dust in the corners of the cabinets etc. This house is absolutely sparkingly clean and feels like it was built brand-new just before we arrived. Not even a spider! The decor is modern and fun, my favorite touch is the vintage framed Maine Fishing poster in the bathroom. The beds are very comfortable, the pillows are not lumpy and even the dishes are cute! The lake is just outside the cottage, and is huge and deep blue with gorgeous healthy trees all around and happy little ducks by the dock. You can watch the steamboat Katahdin puff by when they run cruises, and watch seaplanes land and take off. We sat in the adirondack chairs by the shore wrapped up in blankets against the unseasonably chilly, but very sunny, weather. Heaven! Greenville is just down the road, and was so much fun for poking around the stores and buying some Maine blueberry ice cream. Our favorite store downtown was Kamp Kamp, they had arrowheads, toys and Native American style jewelry in the front, and then really interesting lodge-style antiques in the large back room. Another fun activity are seaplane trips which are frequent on Moosehead Lake- you can go to other lakes, see the moose or just fly around as I understand it. We'll do that on our next trip. If you don't feel like cooking in the (beautiful, modern) kitchen, there are many fun places to eat in town. I'd especially recommend Auntie M's, we ate there every morning for breakfast. It was delicious, inexpensive, and early in the morning you see a lot of plaid flannel. :) The LaBrecques were fantastic guides for us, directing us to the best moose-spotting sites and to delicious restaurants off the beaten path. With their help we saw total 4 female moose and one bull moose. I really cannot recommend the Birch Point Cabins enough. There is so much to do, the folks in the village are so friendly, and the owners are new friends. Don't pass this up.

My son first discovered this cabin when we needed a few days away after a death in the family. The cabins are tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. There is nothing like cooking by moonlight at the water's edge of the lake or drinking that first cup of coffee from the sunporch. We returned to "our cabin" again this year to begin a family tradition. The Lebrecque's are wonderful hosts and the location will bring the restful peace you've been looking for. Don't miss out! Oh and one more thing...we saw plenty of moose!

My husband and our three young children stayed for a long weekend May of 2010 and we loved every minute. Pete and Elizabeth were very welcoming and helpful in my quest to see moose. They were also able to show us some nice fishing holes suitable for our family. We felt like we had known them for years. The cabin was well maintained and the location was not only beautiful but also close to shops and restaurants. We wish we could have stayed longer. We can't wait to plan another trip and stay a full week next time.
Owner response:It was our pleasure hosting this delightful young family. Knowing that they enjoyed their stay enough to want to return a bonus. Happy guests are what we strive for.

"The Ke cabin surpassed our expectaions. it is definitely one of the so specail places that one dreams of coming back to again and again in different seasons. The cottage is charming and clean with special touches that left us in awe. A five star hotel couldn't have provided us with more. If our opinion matters, we want to officially create a 6 start rating just for this place. Created memories that will last a lifetime, hiking, paddling, swimming and a lot of R & R sitting by the beautiful lake. Listening to the sound of the Loons, watching the spectaular sunsets over Moose mt., slept well in the Maine air. The hist's love and concern for the comfort of others shows in this beautiful cottage. Seeing a giant moose posing for us with a baby in tow, the frosting on the cake."
Owner response:We are always happy to hear of satisfied guests. We make every effort to provide privacy, comfort and tips for seeing Moose, best spots for fishing, good restaurants and what to do in the surrounding area. K2 offers a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. Love to hear our guests leave fulfilled. Moosehead lake is indeed a special place.

It was not the priviledge of being guests in this beautifully made and with love furnished cottage, the luck we had having perfect weather for swimming, hiking, canoeing, the peace and privacy of this place; no, after all it was the friendly and heartly atmosphere created by our hosts Pete and Elizabeth which made our stay perfect. A vacation spot that would be hard to top! The cabin felt brand new and was beautifully decorated, equipped with all the necessities. The private beach was wonderful, as were the views. We spent a week there and never ran out of things to do with the kids. We plan to return again and again.
