SETTING: Villa Las Brisas rides atop a prominent ridge and commands a sweeping panorama of the World's second largest reef system and long coastal views. Your arrival at the entry breezeway opens on to the mangroves that shelter Politilly Bight. A flowering, vine covered pergola shades the breezeway that separates the main house from the two, large, en suite bedrooms.
ENTRY: Flanking the columned breezeway are two fountained pools on each side providing the gentle sound of falling water. Low punctuated walls surround the entry and enclose tropical gardens. Designed in a modern Mediterranean style by highly regarded Carmel architect, John Thodos, and completed in 2001, Las Brisas is truly a signature island property.
MASTER SUITE: The Master Suite occupies the entire second floor of the main house and features a sitting area with lounge chairs, King Tommy Bahama bed, two glass bowl sinks with waterfall faucets mounted atop a marble vanity, large glass block shower cabinet, and 46' flat screen TV in a custom armoire. The toilet is room enclosed with marble wainscoating, art and custom round mirror.
The tile flooring is open to the first floor below on three sides. Ceilings are ten feet tall with another four feet of height gain via a windowed 'light box'. Large oil paintings grace the walls and a viewing deck with eleven foot market umbrella and two padded chaise lounges provide relaxation by day and star studded skies at night.
BEDROOMS: The two, queen bed suites across the breezeway are large, individually decorated with tiled showers, skylights, and bathrooms with dramatic mirrors and marble backsplash. Art abounds in every suite and throughout the Villa as do oriental Gabbeh carpets.
MAIN LIVING AREA: The main floor houses a large living room with 9 foot picture window, a fully appointed kitchen with granite counters and kitchen island with inset cooktop, and a glass surrounded dining room extension opening on to the tiled patio and large lounge pool.
POOL: The lounge pool sits amid a palm grove and is surrounded by dramatic tropical folliage. The pool is open to sea and coastal views. Two chaise lounges under two eleven foot market umbrellas offer poolside comfort.
AIR CONDITIONING: Ceiling fans throughout the property augment the prevailing and cooling breezes and AC is rarely used, but there if needed. Both the main house and the bedrooms have mini split AC installed. The main floor convenience bathroom evokes Hollywood of the 40's and 50's.
FURNISHINGS: Furnishings are tastefully tropical with striking fabrics. Alcoves on either side of the living room window display spotlit, seven foot carved Indonesian statuary. A dramatic, lipstick red spiral staircase leads up to the Master Suite and the rooftop beyond. In all, a luxurious, restful setting to relax or to entertain around the kitchen island with its four comfortable bar stools, the open living room and dining room and lounge pool and patio spaces that invite exploration and your enjoyment.
OTHER AMENITIES: Our watchman/gardener, Tino Rivas, attends to the pool and fountains each morning and Tuesday our housekeeper, Naomi, tidies interiors and can make arrangements for washing personal items. A generator provides power if the power supply should falter. Our property managers, meet guests at the airport and introduce them to the Villa with a welcoming libation. And, if you like, make arrangements for catered meals or massage and provide what-to-do and what-to-see information.

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at the villas and wow what an experience! In the main and also the guest house their is nothing missed for details. Anything and everything you could possibly want or need right at our fingertips. All of the above from every tool in the kitchen to create a fabulous dinner and dining experience,. Outside at the pool we bathed in the sun on the loungers and a cool down in the scenic pool. The flowers and landscape make for a gorgeous sunset margarita poolside. The master suite had a beautiful layout for comfort and relax time. Again not a detail missed. We were able to snuggle up and watch a movie and know that we were safe and sound with the property guard dogs and also a watchmen. This is a paradise away from paradise. Loved it and highly recommend any family to enjoy.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

Why the Owner Chose Politilly Bight:
We built the Villa starting in 1998 and it was completed and habitable in 2000, although subsequent improvements have continued through 2010. We named the villa Las Brisas because that is where we honeymooned in Acapulco in 1980.
