Wow! The 4 of us (all adults) had a fabulous stay at this cottage. The weather was perfect, and the lake water just right for swimming. We never got in the car to go anywhere. The cabin was just right in many ways - kitchen well equipped, great windows for letting in lots of fresh (great zzzzzzs in comfy beds), late afternoon sunsets on the front porch were spectacular (the lake a sea of diamonds), and loved the loons and canoe expeditions. We had next to no mosquitoes until dark. We are already talking about a return visit. Thanks!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We were excited to stay here, and we had a wonderful time! The cottage is just as it looks in the pictures, and the upstairs area is very nice with lots of sleeping space! The family of ducks was quite friendly, as were the chipmunks:) We saw and heard loons frequently and enjoyed a lot of time in the canoe (provided) fishing in the lakes (so many areas to fish-- many are linked and you can just work your way to all kinds of different areas). Just my husband and me were there for a week in June, but you could really easily sleep 8 upstairs, no problem, so a whole group of people could go. We loved it!!! It's also only 25 miles or so from awesome hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and there's just so much to do in the area if you love the outdoors. If it rains (which it did for 2 days while we were there), you can just stay inside by the fire, play games and read and relax, and take in the view from all the windows. We had a great time!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1999
About the owner: We live in southern Maine and love the mountains no matter the season.
Why the Owner Chose Bryant Pond:
Our house is 4 minutes to Mt Abram and 15 minutes to Sunday River and 20' from the lake. Who could ask for more. I bought the property so my family could move from Mt. A. to SR as they grew. 'Rock Island' in the middle of the lake is truly fantastic and a gathering place for vacationers around the lake. We have met great people and enjoyed many hours just hanging out there. I bought the house after renting for 2 days... and that was when there was no shower or bath!!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
'the camp' as we call it has been our second home for many years. My kids grew up skiing at Mt. Abram and then Sunday River and swimming and boating on the lake. Their first boat, the Blue Lube, is the pedal boat and they were responsible for it when just 6 and 8 years old. They had to clean it and make sure it was tied up every night.
We all love hanging out on rock island and jumping off. I usually bring a beach chair from the shed or make a soft spot with a few life preservers. We have even cooked marshmallows over a fire out there. Ice fishing and walking on the lake at night in the winter is marvelous. The stars are so bright.
