Our spacious, two bedroom, two bath, ski-in and ski-out condominium is located in Powderhorn Lodge, in the heart of the Solitude Mountain Resort Village. Situated in Big Cottonwood Canyon, it is a scenic 13-mile drive through the Wasatch-Cache National Forest from the community of Salt Lake City, and only a 40-minute (33 mile) drive from Salt Lake City International Airport. The lengthy ski season, remarkable Utah snow, lack of crowds, and the quaint European-style village are among the features that make Solitude a premier ski destination.

This second floor unit is tastefully furnished and can comfortably sleep eight guests. Elevator access is provided from the lobby and the underground garage. There are lovely views of the ski runs and surrounding mountains from every room.

The well-equipped kitchen has an adjacent dining area that seats six people with room for three more at the breakfast bar. The living room has a TV with VCR/DVD player, iPod speakers, a stone fireplace with gas log, a queen sofa sleeper, and access to the private balcony for viewing the sunset and the ski runs. The master bedroom has a king bed and a TV. The second bedroom, with its own sitting area, contains a queen bed, another queen sofa sleeper, its own bath, TV, DVD, and a kitchen-in-a-closet with a small refrigerator, microwave, and toaster. A separate entrance allows this bedroom unit to be locked off if desired. Free high-speed internet access (wired and wireless) and cable TV with 6 HBO channels are also provided.

Powderhorn Lodge, with its distinctive clock tower, is situated at the center of Solitude Village with easy access to the chairlifts, restaurants, shops, and clubs. The lodge has numerous complimentary amenities, including laundry facilities, ski storage lockers, heated underground parking, and an outdoor hot tub. Ski rental and repair shops and the ski school and lift ticket sales offices are located in the Powderhorn building.

As our guest you will enjoy free access to Club Solitude, situated less than a one-minute walk from your front door. Your family can enjoy nightly movies in the cozy theater room and play foosball, Xbox 360, or board games in the game room. Just outside the Club are a heated pool and two more hot tubs. The Club also offers saunas, a fitness room, a billiard room, two computers with internet access and a printer, and a wonderful great room with a large fireplace - just the place to relax after a day’s skiing or hiking.

  • We had a great time at Ralph's Solitude condo. His instructions were perfect and service outstanding. We stayed there after Solitude season had finished (mid April), but skied at Brighton - 1 mile up the road, which was still convenient. The condo was very well set up - both in terms of functionality and quality. It was very relaxing to jump in the heated pool and HOT tub next door at Club Solitude at the end of a days' skiing. There was also a computer, cinema and pool table to keep the kids extremely happy. Our only regret is that we didn't get to enjoy what I imagine would be a nice village atmosphere in Solitude (as the shops were closed except for the general store at Club Solitude) and ski the Solitude slopes. We will definitely try to come back again. We love skiing in Cottonwood Canyon for another reason as well - we can be at a NBA game in 45 minutes door to door! Does life get any better?

  • Powderhorn 211 is a comfortable condo that's easy to relax in while you are staying at Solitude. Not only is the condo great, but so are Ralph and Cathy! They gave us a plethora of information to help us along, as well as great insider tips. In addition, Solitude is one of the greatest mtns to ski in Utah with a variety of terrain (even enough to scare the cliff-jumping backcountry lunatics that accompanied us). We will definitely be back!!

  • We've rented many properties in many locations through VRBO over the years, and Ralph and Cathy set the standard for other owners to strive for! Both were very professional and kind to deal with, and provided abundant information about the area and the property itself. They also forwarded plenty of "local knowledge" including shopping tips, weather links, maps and lift ticket discounts. Most importantly - the condo is very nice, in a great location, with all the comforts of home. It truly lives up to the description on the listing and their own website. Solitude is a great family ski destination with so much to offer both on and off the mountain. We enjoyed skiing the blue runs and trails through the trees with the kids, and found more challenging terrain for ourselves while they were happily entertained in the great ski school. We can't wait to go back!

  • We just came back from a February trip to Ralph's condo. We had a great time!! We were the max number of guests, but everyone fit comfortably. Solitude is a fun area, with plenty for the experts and beginners in our group. The lodge is VERY nice, and we loved Club Solitude!! The village is pretty quiet, but we had brought enough food for all our meals so that was not a problem. Thank you!! We'll be back.

  • This was our 2nd vacation at Ralph's condo. We had a great time and would like to return. Ralph is very easy to work with and does everything possible to make the rental experience positive. The skiing was great. We made friends with "Subi" the avalanche rescue dog and learned the secret of purchasing wine!

  • Ralph, Thanks for the great accommodations. Very comfortable with a nice view of the mountain. The resort was great. The ski rental and ticket office on premise were friendly and convenient. The restaurants were very nice. The snow and skiing were great. Everything was just as you had said. It was nice to have underground parking because it snowed almost 4 feet while we were there. The ski locker is nice and the jacuzzi was a fun after-ski treat. We would love to do it again sometime. Thank you very much.
