Welcome to Summerwind, an island beach cottage located less than a mile from the Seabrook Island Club and approximately 22 miles from historic Charleston. Seabrook Island is a private, gated, semi-tropical island with beautiful, uncrowded beaches, marshes and lush wooded areas located next to Kiawah Island. Enjoy golfing, tennis, swimming, shelling, fishing, biking, crabbing, horseback riding, dolphin watching or relaxing on the beach or at one of the pools.
Seabrook Island is a great place for active people. There is little traffic and the speed limit of 25 mph is strictly enforced for your safety. The beaches are just unbelievable -- we describe Seabrook Island to friends as a "tropical paradise" and we think you will too!
The North Beach and Seabrook Island Club Beach are the perfect place to spend precious vacation time no matter what you prefer -- amenities abound on Seabrook. The Seabrook Island Club offers 3 pools including a heated pool for cooler weather, beautiful oceanfront deck with cabannas, lounge chairs and uncrowded beach. The oceanfront Pelican Nest offers casual dining for beachgoers. Wait service is also available to your beachchair! Additionally, beach towels are provided daily. The North Beach provides a serene and quiet spot to spend your days on Seabrook Island beaches. You can enjoy swimming in the ocean or a good book under your umbrella. North Beach is absolutely beautiful and very serene. Shelling is magnificent -- we have found sand dollars, starfish and beautiful conch shells! In the evening, walk the half mile to the Pelican Watch beach to enjoy spectacular sunsets while watching the shrimp boats return where the Edisto River and the Atlantic Ocean meet. This tropical paradise is often described as "heaven on earth". The Seabrook Island Club also offers additional dining options at Bohicket Lounge and The Island House located adjacent to the golf course. Reservations are recommended.
Our Summerwind Cottage is set-up nicely for families, golfers or couples! Our court offers a view similar to our memories of "Gilligan's Island". Our cul-de-sac is home to a huge canopy of live oaks, popular throughout the South. Decorated in an island theme, our cottage is the perfect getaway for your vacation. The island theme is carried throughout the living and dining area as well as the kitchen.
The master bedroom, complete with a king size bed and decorated in the popular Waverly magnolia pattern, is located on one side of the cottage with a large living room/dining area in the center of the cottage. The two additional bedrooms are on the other side of the cottage with a door into the living area, allowing for privacy. The second bedroom is set up with a bright, sunny theme and Queen size bed making it perfect for another couple or girls. The third bedroom has two twin beds with Tommy Hilfiger nautical bedding, well suited for the guys.
The screen porch is accessible through the master bedroom and the living room. Enjoy your meals on the large dining table or your favorite beverage in the comfortable wicker sitting area. If you prefer sun, the sun deck houses two adirondeck chairs and a gas grill making meal preparation a snap!

Why the Owner Chose Summerwind Cottages
We bought our property on a total whim - had never thought about it! While picking our daughter up from the College of Charleston, we came upon Seabrook and fell in love instantly with the island. We have owned our cottage since 2004 and look forward to retiring on the island someday!
The Unique Benefits at this House
We greatly enjoy the outdoors, bike riding, walking, playing golf and tennis, fishing, shelling and all in a beautiful, serene environment. The beaches are fabulous, Charleston is nearby, shopping and restaurants are super and abundent. And, best of all, there are no crowds and no traffic!
