This beautiful mountain hideaway is tucked away in its own private valley near the end of a cul de sac road where the only passers-by will be yourselves. The meadow is graced with wildflowers and frequently visited by wildlife including deer, fox and occasionally a bear. Relax on the front deck and take in the panoramic views of pine and aspen forests on the surrounding hillsides. Soaking in the hot tub on a moonless night will open up another world, with more stars in the sky than you could have ever imagined.

You are only 45 minutes from Colorado Springs, 10 miles from historic Cripple Creek, and surrounded by state parks, hiking trails and back road jeep trails.
The home features new paint inside and out, new carpet and flooring, including ceramic tile, and many luxury items such as an Italian leather sofa and new pillow top mattresses. The decor is a warm mix of Southwestern and Mexican art, making each room a different experience of color and flair.

"Deer Meadow Retreat" Privacy, Fabulous Valley View & Hot Tub!
Year Purchased: 1998
Why the Owner Chose Divide
At the time when Deer Meadow Retreat was built, Gay...a mountian gal at heart...had been living in Divide and in the Rainbow Valley development for several years. Having some extra cash to invest, she shopped for quite some time to locate the right piece of land for the home she had personally selected as well. The intent was to rent the house conventionally, which she did for several years. Everything changed once she and Gary, now married, decided to update the house and rent it as a vacation rental because, for several years they had been living in Peyton, CO and for the first time they could enjoy the cabin and the location themselves!
The Unique Benefits at this House
It made a world of difference to have full control of their property and no longer have it mistreated by rentors. Gay loves to remodel and decorate so it was fun to give it her personal touches. Among other improvements, the gas fireplace was added and the deck enlarged to accommodate the hot tub. Gary was TDY in Puerto Rico while Gay kept herself busy with her special project. Missing the mountains while living in the prairie, they love to spend as much time as they can at the cabin...as a central location to enjoy hikes and Cripple Creek and just for the peaceful setting. Nothing compares the tranquility of an evening soak in the hot tub, whether the moon is full or dark, enjoying the view of the valley and the starry sky!
Owner's Map of Divide
Gay and Gary Liberty have recently moved to Woodland Park and personally manage and maintain their three vacation rental cabins in the Pikes Peak area. Gary is retired from Air Force Reserves and his civil service career as an aircraft mechanic. Gay has many years of experience in the hospitality field in both resort marketing and hotel reservations and front desk. They are delighted to share their love of the Colorado mountains and their love of each special cabin setting to ensure a memorable and relaxing vacation experience for their guests.

Very Quiet and Relaxing!

This was a very quiet and relaxing place to stay. The property was clean and well stocked. We have 4 kids ranging in age from 5-14 and enjoyed every minute. It was far enough from other houses that you didn't have any noise, which is surprising considering that there is a busy highway only a short distance away. The only problem we had was that we have a large diesel truck and couldn't make the hairpin turns to get to it and into the driveway. We had to make several tries at it backing up and going forward again. But it could not be helped, and was definitely worth it! There is a nice little grocery store just a few minutes away. We also really enjoyed the hot tub. My kids all had a blast! We would definitely recommend it to anyone!

We really enjoyed our stay at this little getaway. It was very secluded, quiet, and had breath taking scenery (especially with the snow that had fallen the day before our arrival). All of the amenities of the house were modern and in great shape. Greatly appreciated not only having the driveway plowed of snow before our arrival, but also having the deck shoveled and the hot tub temperature turned up prior to our arrival. The entire package allowed us to focus our entire efforts on relaxing and enjoying ringing in the new year. We plan on staying here again in the future.

Hi, Gay and Gary! We had such a wonderful time at the cabin - it was the perfect getaway for us. And we so appreciate your help with the snow. We recently relocated from the East coast, and we still have some reacclimating to do! But truly, it was such a wonderful trip and we look forward to another getaway with you soon. All best, Irene

HI, I have been meaning to write you and thank you for having us at your cabin. It was a great experience and we saw 4 deer! Pretty big for city dwellers. The hot tub was just what the doctor ordered - and we will be renting again for you in the future. Thanks again. Angela

Just wanted to say again how pleased we were with Dear Meadow! The view was great, the hot tub awesome and I cant believe how well supplied the kitchen and bath are! We were talking again the other day about how comfortable the bed in the master suite is, especially the comforter. There is a great amount of space in the house and it is very nicely decorated. Something we do not expect to find in a rental situation. I'm not sure when we will make it back to Colorado, but Dear Meadow is going to be our number one place to stay. Also, I am attaching a photo of the bear we saw across the way. Thought you might be interested. Take care and Thanks again! Monte Schmidt Lincoln, NE. 68510
