We welcome large groups for family reunions, weddings and festivals – as well as large dogs. Since we can sleep up to 12 people in the Lodge and 5 more in our Annex next door, we are perfect for everyone to stay all in one place.
Our pet friendly vacation rental home offers country charm and is located in a small, private, quiet residential community located about one mile north of the California Oregon border. We are just five miles north of Smith River and four miles south of Brookings -- a small relaxed coastal town with a harbor and miles of scenic beaches for beach walking, tide pooling, surf fishing, and kite flying.
Just off Hwy 101, a 10 minute walk through our neighborhood takes you to the Winchuck River and a local public access path gets you onto the beach ... tides, driftwood and river height permitting. Our fenced backyard is a great place for the kids to play.

Rate Details (In US Dollars)
Nightly Rates .. $150/day for 1 - 5 guests. Two night minimum.
For each additional guest, add $30.00 per day. Annex Rates: $30 per guest
Babies and children under 2 and guests over 90 stay free.
Cleaning fee of $100 per stay. Add'l cleaning fee of $25 per room in Annex.
Weekly Rates .. Stay a week and you get the 7th day free.
Pets (up to three) are $30 per day. Extra cleaning fees apply - see our website.

Why the Owner Chose Brookings
Warren & Louise, after traveling the World (Antarctica, Japan, Tibet, Bhutan, Egypt, Israel, Galapagos Islands, Amazon River, British Isles, Iceland, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Norway, Sweden, Peru, Eastern Russia, Eastern & Southern China) decided it was time to settle down and retire in Brookings. We purchased properties near the Winchuck Estuary and developed our unique Moosehead Lodge vacation rental.

This is a wonderful home. My family, (five families with children), rented both homes and each one was wonderful. We all had a great time. The photos on the net are very good, they display the homes very well. Kathy and Ed are great people and went the extra mile to make sure our stay was great. Yes, we all would recommend this property to our friends and relatives. Some of our family enjoyed a day sea fishing and a couple of days crabbing at the harbor. This was a great fun for our family, and the fishing was great. We would very much like to return to the Moose Lodge and the Brookings area. Easy access to the beaches. Quiet neighborhoood. Great place for vacation, homes are spaces and comfortable. Thank you Ed and Kathy.

Thank you so much! We loved staying at the Moosehead! We arrived in cold and stormy weather to find a welcome note and Christmas wreath on the door. Inside, we were met with a warm and cozy house, music playing, fresh bread baking and to our great surprise, a Christmas tree! Beautifully decorated and full of Christmas cheer! That was a wonderful surprise. We so appreciated your kindness and attention to detail. The house was well equipped for all of our needs. Oh! I forgot to mention the dining table fully set for Xmas dinner - complete with poinsettias! I can't thank you enough. We'll be back and I can't wait. All the best in 2009.

Thank you so much. It was great having our whole group in one house. We loved the fact that you were kid friendly. We loved the fresh bread and fresh flowers and the table being set. Thank you also for having things available like the laundry detergent which we forgot to bring and the Saran wrap.
