Why the Owner Chose Topsail Beach
Back in the 60's my parents took a day trip to the beach and the rest as they say "is history"!
The curtains were blowing in the wind (no AC back then!) and my mom fell in love with the house. We've been enjoying it ever since!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Relaxation, relaxation, relaxation! Take a snooze on the futon after your book falls out of your hand. Enjoy your first cup of morning coffee in the rocking chairs on the porch while watching the world come alive. Watch the most beautiful sunset in the world in the same rockers in the evenings. Swim out to the sandbar right in front of the house. Tie your boat or jetski up in deep water at the pier in your own front yard. Gather around the large kitchen table for food and fellowship. Take a short two block walk to the ocean. Bring or rent bikes and pedal around the island. Discover the shops and quaint Putt-Putt near by. Take a cruise to a dockside dinner in Surf City or Wilmington. Visit the only Sea Turtle hospital around. We could go on-but you get the picture so come on down!

Wow! What a wonderful week we had at the Sea Rooster. We have been coming to Topsail for more than 10 years and this is the most comfortable place we’ve been yet. It was all that was advertised and more. From the floating dock to the screened-in porch, the comfortable beds to the spacious kitchen. We wanted for nothing. We hope that next year we will be able to work out coming to this house again.
Owner response:Jim, We're so glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay. Hopefully you can return for many years! Nancy

This was our 13th year renting The Sea Rooster (I think). We love the pier--even neighbors ask to take their family portrait on it at sunset. Swimming is great from the floating dock, and it's great for the kayaks and sailboat. A short walk to the ocean, and the kids are on bikes to the Point and to town all the time. The wood paneling is beautiful, the porch fans make it nice to stay outside even on the hottest days, and the kitchen is well-stocked with all the utensils you need. We'll be back next year.
Owner response:Thanks, Dave! We love that others, like your family, can enjoy our home as much as we have over the years. Nancy Pippin

Words can't begin to express how much we enjoyed this cottage. From the moment we unlocked the door, we felt right at home. The house had everything we needed and more. Most of our time was spent outside fishing from the dock or relaxing on the screened in porch. We caught flounder and lots of shrimp! We made more than one meal from our catch of the day and were even able to share with some neighbors we met from Wisconsin. We were truly blessed to be able to share your cottage and look forward to a return visit in the future. Thanks so much for helping to make these memories that will last a lifetime! Fishing, boating, watching the dolphin swim in and out of the sound and most of all the most gorgeous sunsets I've ever seen. The house itself is very comfortable and you will feel right at home being there. For the most part, even going in late September, the weather has been great. It's a pleasant short walk to the beach but parking places are available if you would rather drive. Take your bicycle because everything in Topsail Beach is within a couple of miles. There are also several restaurants and some really great shops if you prefer to eat out or go shopping. We'll be going back this year in September.

The cottage was great, plenty of room, excellent amenities and a back porch view you can't beat. Boat dock and deck was great, docked a 21 foot boat with ease. Excellent neighbors and quite evenings. All in all, just a great experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house and furninshings more than lived up to our expectations. It was nice to have enough beds to sleep everyone. We fished on the dock out back and caught croakers and spot. Even though these are small fish a lot were the size to panfry. Our grandsons got a thrill everytime they got a bite. One had never been fishing before and now he is hooked. The sunset was gorgeous and we saw dolphins swimming by twice. A great place to stay! Sue

Lovely, clean, well cared for home - great family feeling. Amazing dock & extremely well stocked kitchen. The sunsets from the sound side screened porch were breathtaking! The listing was accurate but Sea Rooster was much larger and it felt much more spacious than it looked in the pictures. Owners were both responsive and pleasant. Would absolutely recommend and we hope to stay there again!

This home has all the comforts of your home but situated on the sound and only a few blocks from the beach/ocean. Sunsets and fishing are unparalleled on the sound. We caught a couple flounder, a toadfish, some kind of cuttlefish or eel type fish, a few spot and even a ray/skate from the dock. Details in the house are of great benefit as you have classic games, wifi, towel racks on the back of every door, expanded cable and a kitchen which meets every need. You will enjoy your time here just as we did! We can't wait to return!

Our family loved this home for our beach week. It is a well-equipped place down to towel racks on the back of every door. Wireless internet works well and can be a Godsend when rain passes thru in the afternoon. We hope to return every year possible.

We have thoroughly enjoyed this home for two years. It is a perfect fit for our family as we love to go out fishing and tubing on our boat right at the dock. The home is very well cared for, stocked, comfortable and clean. Being one story it is easy to relax . The sunsets are incredible!
