What a Great Home! We arrived to everything we were promised and more. This house was truely a home for our week of Skiing. The place was clean, well stocked, and everything we could have wanted. What was more impressive is the "checking in' from the owner and his staff to make sure we had everything we needed. Our family rented this lovely home for five days over the Thanksgiving holiday. What a wonderful experience! I wish we had stayed much longer. The house is a very short drive from downtown, and we loved having the privacy of having only a few neighbors around us. The house was very clean and had everything we needed (or could have wanted) to make our stay memorable. The rooms are large and comfortable and looked exactly like the photos. We all loved sitting in the great room with the wood burning stove keeping the entire house nice and warm. Plenty of wood just out the door, what a treat. We enjoyed the game room downstairs with the T.V., fireplace and pool table. The floor plan of the home was perfect for our family. Nice comfortable beds and linens. I would note that the fourth bedroom is off of the master bedroom, and might not work for a party of four couples. The house is extremely well stocked. Dishes, cooking items and all of the staples were available, and we were able to make a full Thanksgiving dinner. The dining area has a huge table which was perfect for our meals or for playing games and doing puzzles. The hot tub was a real hit with the family. What a great way to keep warm on a cold night. What fun to sit out on the deck looking up at millions of stars. The owner, Chris, was delightful. Very prompt on responses, and very anxious to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We will DEFINITELY return, and we most definitely recommend this home. Maybe we can try it in the summer and enjoy some different adventures. We never did get time to hangout in the teepee.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at the blue river lodge for 5 days. Everything was great. Very beautiful house. Very happy with amenities, pool table, sauna, hot tub, tipi with a fire pit, only house in breck that had all these. Kitchen was very well-stocked, pots pans even heavy duty ceramic cookers, even had booze. Plate collection is also very beautiful. We had family from Russia, they really loved it and now are thinking about a house in breck/blue river area. Would recommend to anybody.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I met with our 3 grown children and their families for a week at Blue River Lodge in Breckenridge. This was a wonderful vacation for us! We have stayed in homes all over the country and I must say that this beautiful log home is really special. The kitchen is charming and very well equipped. The tepee is amazing! We wanted to have a real Colorado experience and this home with its ambience, location, and views set the perfect mood for our trip. There were all kinds of games and equipment for indoor and outdoor fun - a great game room with pool table and big screen tv - and the saunas were terrific. Gorgeous mountain view. A great place!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We have rented Colorado vacation properties in Leadville, Steamboat, Estes, Frisco and now Breckenridge. Blue River Lodge is our favorite so far and we hope to return. Chris was very helpful and professional answering our emails or phone calls in a timely manner. Our family of 3 generations stayed in this wonderful log home for a week and the experience was even better than we had hoped for. We had 6 adults and 3 children with plenty of room for all. This home is clean and well equipped with just about everything you would need and the location was perfect for us...private but easy to get to. The hot tub was enjoyed by some family members late at night to enjoy the amazing stars and meteor showers...other family members enjoyed it early in the morning while drinking coffee and watching the wildlife. The pool table was also a big hit for our competitive family. There is so much to do in and around Breckenridge! Our family enjoyed fishing, golfing, horse-back riding, hiking, riding the gondola & the alpine slide, shopping, and eating at various restaurants. The town of Breckenridge is quite endearing and everyone we met was extremely friendly and helpful. At the end of the day, we relaxed around a campfire back at the cabin. A good time was had by all and we made some wonderful family memories at Blue River Lodge.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The Blue River Lodge truly does have everything you need for a mountain getaway. The house had everything it advertised and was just what we needed for our family vacation. It was only a few minute drive to downtown Breckenridge to hit the slopes and had tons of entertainment options for the kids right there on property. We almost had too much snow if that is possible, but the snow plow was there to clear the driveway, and had additonal firewood delivered while we were there. Chris has thought of everything here. It does take a little time getting used to the altitude, especially since we came from Florida. By the third day we were well adjusted and going strong. The pots of water on the wood stove definetely helped add some humidity at night. I would defintiely stay here again and recomend it to friends!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Just me and my wife for a week of vacation in beautiful Colorado and in this beautiful cabin. Definitely a ton of room to spread out. Probably could house 3 couples and kids. The setting was beautiful, it snowed a couple of nights. There are people that come to service the hot tub and clear the walkways. We didn't know this and were kind of surprised when men started shoveling the deck at the cabin, but they did not disturb us at all. The cabin is located at the top of a slight hill that when snow-covered makes it difficult to get your car up the driveway (we got stuck several times). Recommend four-wheel drive or a bigger car (we had a full-size rental). The sound system looked to be very impressive but there was no way (that we saw) to hook up our iPod to play our music. Same goes for hooking up our computers to watch movies via iTunes on the big-screens. Other than those few things our stay was amazing and very enjoyable. Kitchen was well-stocked with things to cook with as we didn't eat out much. Wood-burning stove was so warm and inviting, we used it almost every day. Overall, a big recommendation and we would stay there again in a hearbeat.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

The home and property are both beautiful. It was very easy to deal with Chris and he was an extremely accomodating host. We visited in October and received an unexpected foot and a half of snow. Spent the next day alternating between sledding down the long drive way and sitting in the hot tub enjoying refreshments. It was a good day! It was our first trip to the Rockies and was able to do a lot of sight seeing, including Colo. Springs, Denver, Vail, Pike's Peak. The cabin was well equipped and all had a great time. Thanks Chris.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We chose this log home because of the reviews and because of the prompt emails and replies from owner Chris. He was very helpful. We arrived the day after our wedding. We didn't have too much of a plan other than to relax. And by relax that is exactly what we did. Spending evenings on the deck, enjoying time together in front of the fire place. This log home has it all. Not just the sauna, steam shower, hot tub, gas and wood fireplaces, pool table, board games, a tipi and large fire pit, but Chris and his wife (so sorry I can't remember her name) have gone to great lengths to make the stay comfortable. All we needed to bring were changes of clothes. As the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans....even spices (for those nights you don't want to dine out). Worth every penny we paid, this was just an amazing experience. I really cannot think of one thing that we needed that was already there. The log cabin is just outside of Breckenridge (I think a 10 minute drive) but that was a great thing. The views we spectacular and the quiet of the night was just amazing. The cabin was very clean and very well maintained. While in Breckenridge we loved the food. Do not miss out on the chance to dine at Angel's Hollow, Epic Burger and The Breckenridge Brewery. Make sure to take the time to visit the Welcome center. As it has all kinds of history and visuals of the towns past. The people were all very friendly and not once did we seem to notice If you have the chance to try fly fishing head over to Mountain Anglers. Jackson and his team are amazing. We were on a guided trip (extremely reasonably priced) and had a blast. Hands down the most memorable and exciting thing we did on our honeymoon. Thank you Chris, the effort you put into your Log home really made every moment of our honeymoon the best that it could be. We hope to visit again.Did you find this review helpful? We had a wonderful time at the this wonderful family lodge! My husband and I took my elderly father on this trip to Breckenridge so we knew we would be spending a lot of time at the vacation home we chose. I spend A LOT of time searching VRBO and other sites for the perfect place. I was very excited when I saw this home online because it appeared to offer us what we were looking for: A nice, large deck with great views; hot tub; plenty of space for our family to spread out; and a nice kitchen and large kitchen table. We weren't disappointed. The adults particularly loved sitting on the deck (over coffee in the morning or wine in the evening) and visiting while looking at the gorgeous views, and playing pool. The kids had a blast playing outside and roasting marshmallows over the campfire for s'mores. We also enjoyed visits from local wildlife--including a number of deer and even a black bear. This truly was a special place for a fun, relaxing multi-generational family vacation.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
