The Blue River Lodge truly does have everything you need for a mountain getaway. The house had everything it advertised and was just what we needed for our family vacation. It was only a few minute drive to downtown Breckenridge to hit the slopes and had tons of entertainment options for the kids right there on property. We almost had too much snow if that is possible, but the snow plow was there to clear the driveway, and had additonal firewood delivered while we were there. Chris has thought of everything here. It does take a little time getting used to the altitude, especially since we came from Florida. By the third day we were well adjusted and going strong. The pots of water on the wood stove definetely helped add some humidity at night. I would defintiely stay here again and recomend it to friends!

Just me and my wife for a week of vacation in beautiful Colorado and in this beautiful cabin. Definitely a ton of room to spread out. Probably could house 3 couples and kids. The setting was beautiful, it snowed a couple of nights. There are people that come to service the hot tub and clear the walkways. We didn't know this and were kind of surprised when men started shoveling the deck at the cabin, but they did not disturb us at all. The cabin is located at the top of a slight hill that when snow-covered makes it difficult to get your car up the driveway (we got stuck several times). Recommend four-wheel drive or a bigger car (we had a full-size rental). The sound system looked to be very impressive but there was no way (that we saw) to hook up our iPod to play our music. Same goes for hooking up our computers to watch movies via iTunes on the big-screens. Other than those few things our stay was amazing and very enjoyable. Kitchen was well-stocked with things to cook with as we didn't eat out much. Wood-burning stove was so warm and inviting, we used it almost every day. Overall, a big recommendation and we would stay there again in a hearbeat.

The home and property are both beautiful. It was very easy to deal with Chris and he was an extremely accomodating host. We visited in October and received an unexpected foot and a half of snow. Spent the next day alternating between sledding down the long drive way and sitting in the hot tub enjoying refreshments. It was a good day! It was our first trip to the Rockies and was able to do a lot of sight seeing, including Colo. Springs, Denver, Vail, Pike's Peak. The cabin was well equipped and all had a great time. Thanks Chris.

We chose this log home because of the reviews and because of the prompt emails and replies from owner Chris. He was very helpful. We arrived the day after our wedding. We didn't have too much of a plan other than to relax. And by relax that is exactly what we did. Spending evenings on the deck, enjoying time together in front of the fire place. This log home has it all. Not just the sauna, steam shower, hot tub, gas and wood fireplaces, pool table, board games, a tipi and large fire pit, but Chris and his wife (so sorry I can't remember her name) have gone to great lengths to make the stay comfortable. All we needed to bring were changes of clothes. As the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans....even spices (for those nights you don't want to dine out). Worth every penny we paid, this was just an amazing experience. I really cannot think of one thing that we needed that was already there. The log cabin is just outside of Breckenridge (I think a 10 minute drive) but that was a great thing. The views we spectacular and the quiet of the night was just amazing. The cabin was very clean and very well maintained. While in Breckenridge we loved the food. Do not miss out on the chance to dine at Angel's Hollow, Epic Burger and The Breckenridge Brewery. Make sure to take the time to visit the Welcome center. As it has all kinds of history and visuals of the towns past. The people were all very friendly and not once did we seem to notice If you have the chance to try fly fishing head over to Mountain Anglers. Jackson and his team are amazing. We were on a guided trip (extremely reasonably priced) and had a blast. Hands down the most memorable and exciting thing we did on our honeymoon. Thank you Chris, the effort you put into your Log home really made every moment of our honeymoon the best that it could be. We hope to visit again.

We had a wonderful time at the this wonderful family lodge! My husband and I took my elderly father on this trip to Breckenridge so we knew we would be spending a lot of time at the vacation home we chose. I spend A LOT of time searching VRBO and other sites for the perfect place. I was very excited when I saw this home online because it appeared to offer us what we were looking for: A nice, large deck with great views; hot tub; plenty of space for our family to spread out; and a nice kitchen and large kitchen table. We weren't disappointed. The adults particularly loved sitting on the deck (over coffee in the morning or wine in the evening) and visiting while looking at the gorgeous views, and playing pool. The kids had a blast playing outside and roasting marshmallows over the campfire for s'mores. We also enjoyed visits from local wildlife--including a number of deer and even a black bear. This truly was a special place for a fun, relaxing multi-generational family vacation.

This cabin is a home run! This was our first experience with renting a home, and as picky hotel people we were a little apprehensive. Chris was so very helpful and quick with responses to all questions. The log home was comfortable (bedding, towels, furniture all well done), clean and had fun amenities to keep any group happy. We were in the hot tub everyday and the pool table was a hit! After all the fun adventures we found in the Breckenridge area the best part of our day was knowing we were coming "home" to such a great place!!! Thank you for sharing your awesome home!!

Everything about this cabin is perfect!! It is a secluded home with beautiful views. The many things provided for our use (felt like we were home), hot tub, fire pit, outdoor activities, pool table, games, movies, etc. The boys had a blast exploring in the forest in your back area. Everything helped make our vacation very memorable and one of our favorite vacations to Colorado. We hope to use your home again in the future. Also, very quick responses from the owner for any questions we had along the way. I have rented through VRBO in the past, and this process was definitely the best and easiest!!

While all was quiet in Breckenridge and we were a little disappointed to not be able to go horseback riding, we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and by the fire, shopping, great meals on the grill and at local establishments, long walks, running, bike riding and several hikes - including Mohawk Lake! The cabin was perfect and the weather was unbelievable!

We stayed in this Cabin in August and it was wonderful. It is secluded but a short drive to Breckenrige. The decor and furniture was very comfortable and made the vacation very relaxing. There was plenty of room and lots of woods outside for the kids to explore. It is exactly as discribed. Rent with confidence.

We had 3 families which totaled 10 people including a 2 year old and an 8 month old from 3 different states all excited to enjoy 3 nights at what we thought would be a great rental experience. We made the reservation and paid in full roughly 2 months in advance. The owner seems quite responsive and courteous. Unfortunately, the good feelings ended when we arrived to find the cabin had not been cleaned and the refrigerator didn't work. Late in the afternoon with 10 people and no where to go. Not good!. I left the owner 4 phone voice mails without success. I finally was able to reach his property manager. He told me he was not informed by the owner of our check in. Maid service was not scheduled and the refrigerator was not set for repair for 3 days. I must say that he took it upon himself to assist us in finding another rental. Upon arriving home I finally received an email from the owner who apologized and said he had been out of phone and internet for 10 days. We did receive our full refund but we certainly would not even remotely consider renting from this owner in the future!
Owner response:In response to this review, please know that there was a mistake in scheduling and when this guest arrived the cleaning service after the prior guests had not yet cleaned, and the refrigerator condenser had broken. Each of these issues was immediately addressed by our property manager. Unfortunately I (the owner) was on a backcountry hiking trip without cell phone or email access at the time. We now also provide my wife's cell number (in addition to the property manager) in case I am not reachable. We were very sorry for the inconvenience caused to this particular renter and immediately sent a full refund. Chris Kuelling

We enjoyed our 2nd visit and hope to make another trip. The June snow was an amazing treat. The kids loved the snow toys and never expected to use them on a June vacation. I love that the cabin had snow toys for our June trip! One of my favorite things about Blue River Lodge is how well stocked the kitchen is. We enjoyed amazing family dinners after playing hard all day. Thanks for sharing it with us.

This was our first time to Breckinridge and will not be our last. The Kuelling cabin gave us the absolute best of both worlds—a true Colorado mountain cabin and world class skiing just minutes away. The place was clean and extremely well furnished. The kids (and adults) loved the pool table. The hot tub was large and seemed well maintained. We greatly appreciated the hospitable cabin and everything Breck had to offer. We will be back again. Thanks, Jim

Outstanding, well appointed home with gracious owners. The hot tub is heavenly after a day on the slopes, and the downstairs pool table is especially nice as a getaway for the kids, giving adults some peace and quiet!

This was an ideal property for our family of 7. We had plenty of space to accommodate activities of both children and adults. The property was clean and well maintained. The tipi was a unique and enjoyable amenity to use during the mild temps we experienced in late March. The nordic and snow shoe trails above Breckenridge provided breath taking views in all directions! Equipment rental was easy with friendly staff @ the Breck trail head. Steeping in the hot tub on the deck was a perfect finish to our adventure filled days!

This cabin is nicely tucked away about 10 minutes drive from Breckenridge and skiing. We didn't want to ski everyday so this cabin was Perfect for 2 families with small kids. We stayed in Jan/Feb. and the Jacuzzi, spa, sauna, fireplaces, etc. all came in Handy. Jacuzzi was cleaned by someone every other day or so and they even cleared snow off the steps for us. Plenty of spices in the kitchen, cleaning products and toiletries, no need to buy before arriving. Cabin is even nicer than pictured. Very clean, nice linens and towels. Even used the humidifiers that we found in the closet. Owner was easy to contact and very pleasant. Thanks Again for making Breckenridge a perfect vacation for us and hope to come back again soon!
