Burgau villa description

Now with Wifi! This compact two bedroomed (one double, one twin bedded) but well equipped villa with its own (10m x 5m) solar heated pool offers privacy but is close to all of the amenities available in both Luz and Lagos, 2 minutes drive from the N125 or the centre of Luz and 10 minutes from the vibrant nightlife that can be found in Lagos. This property nestles on the hillside behind the hustle and bustle of Luz amongst several recently built exclusive villas. Its south facing terrace has views over Luz and the sea. It is ideally situated for the beach, golf and other sports and outdoor activities that are available in the locality and of course the wonderful Algarve countryside and its neighbouring resorts and places of interest.
It is ideal for young families where children can play in a secure garden that boasts orange and lemon trees as well as the outdoor pool with pool-side shower. The villa has been granted the Portuguese tourist license which guarantees the standard of accommodation as described.


Exterior renovations: Following the pool renovation in 2008, the garden then had an irrigation system installed and the lawn was re-seeded and new plants were planted througout the property and are now well established. In 2009 we built a new perimeter wall improving the privacy when sitting out on the terrace and the cul de sac has been re-surfaced by the Camara. In 2010 we extended the underfloor heating in the lounge (for winter only) together with new floor tiles and double glazed aluminium windows and shutters. Also a double glazed porch has been added to the front door.

In January 2012 we have extended the south-facing terrace and re-tiled it so that you can enter the terrace from either the lounge or the master bedroom. This has created a small covered area down by the pool. A new table and chairs have also been purchased for outside dining whilst being able to appreciate the sea view from the terrace. At the far end, you can now even glimpse 'Black Rock'.

All of the properties in this quiet location are individually designed and several are permanently occupied by their owners contributing to the friendliness and tranquillity of the surroundings.

Interior: A flat screen TV and an IPOD/mobile phone docking system were purchased in 2011 to enhance the amenities in the villa. In May 2012 we have installed remote controlled ceiling fans in the bedrooms. Solar panels have recently been installed to heat the pool and domestic hot water.

We would recommend that you hire a car if you choose to stay at Vila Sol. It only takes 10 minutes to stroll down the hill to the beach and the supermarket but it takes longer to come back as it is uphill. There is also an excellent bus service through Luz using the Onda Bus to Lagos. It stops on the edge of the estate where we are situated. The buses are very regular and run from early morning until just before midnight in the summer. So if you do not want to hire a car, there are alternatives to enable you to visit Lagos which is well worth a few visits during your stay.

There is also under floor heating in both the bedrooms and bathrooms. There are remote controlled ceiling fans in the two bedrooms for comfort on the occasional very warm nights.. The villa is very comfortable for 4 adults. The fold-out bed is suitable for a child or an adult if a short stay is anticipated but for a week or longer, the owners prefer no more than 4 people to ensure their comfort....moreless

              • All of the living accommodation is on one level. The south facing terrace has steps leading down to the garden and the swimming pool which was completely rebuilt in 2008 to provide plenty of poolside terracing to allow for sunbathing in a secluded garden area. Clients must provide their own beach towels but all other household linen is provided. Picnic set and cool box provided in addition to sun umbrellas for the terrace, pool side and beach. . The south facing spacious lounge/dining room boasts a log burning fire for cosy winter evenings. Double glazed windows, new floor tiles and under floor heating were incorporated into the lounge in 2010 as well as a porch added to the front door. There are also some popular games (cards, chess/draughts, backgammon, boggle, battleships) for young and old alike to play in quieter moments.                   Luz is a busy and popular holiday resort 10 minutes by car from the medieval walled town and port of Lagos. Luz is a family favourite with its expansive safe sandy beach, an abundance of water sports and activities plus numerous restaurants and bars scattered throughout the village. Luz is an ideal base to explore the Algarve. Go west and you arrive at the most south westerly point of Europe (Cape St Vincent), north west is Vila do Bispo and the Atlantic west coast (Monte Clerigo is one of our favourite beaches), north lies the forest, north east the mountain village of Monchique (the smell of Eucalyptus forests and the view are divine) and the hot mineral baths of Caldas de Monchique, east takes you to Lagos and then to Portimao, both offering excellent shopping and sightseeing, with plenty of night life and entertainment for those of a more energetic inclination. There are four top quality golf courses within 10 minutes' drive, a Zoo close by and the water parks 'Slide and Splash' and 'Aqualand' only 30 minutes away. Whatever the season, you will find plenty to do in the surrounding area.
