We stay at the dunes every time we go to port aransas. And out of all the condos this condo is the best. Great views, comfy and never felt muggy. It was a perfect weekend. This will be the first place we look for a place to stay next time we go down.

A Wonderful Relaxing Stay

After moving into a new home during the month of April, we were ready for a break. Our family of 5 was fortunate enough to stay at this beautiful condo. Being on the first floor, it was amazing to me how quiet it was at the condo. You could not hear people above or around you. The condo was very well kept and clean. My kids were happy to see the addition of wireless internet in the condo! It was so nice to go out the front door and take only a few steps to either the ocean or the pool. Our stay was sooo relaxing! We happened to stay the same weekend as the sandcastle building competition. It was just a short walk down the beach. No worries about finding a parking spot for the activities! We will definitely take our family back to this well kept condo at the Dunes!

Spring Break Fun

We spent 3 days here during Spring Break. There were 6 of us, 2 couples and 2 young children. The weather was fantastic and this condo was even better than the great weather. Its a nice layout with morning views to the NE from one deck to watch sunrises over the beach, another deck looking straight out over the beach, and a third deck facing S over the pool. There's lots of room and nice furnishings in the condo. Being on the ground floor is a plus, easy to come and go and just steps to the pool, which was amazingly uncrowded even during this busy week. The Dunes complex is in a great location, close to town and much closer to the beach than most other beachside condos. I don't think we could have found a better place to stay in Pt Aransas and will definitely return.

Family Weekend

Our stay was great. We came with our family of four and a family of three. The accomodations worked beautifully. The condo has a view of the beach or pool from all windows, which is nice. The kids enjoyed the heated pool. We ate in one night and had everything we needed in the kitchen. It was windy that weekend, but we still found plenty of things to do in Port A. We would definitely stay at this condo again.

Everything you need for a Great Vacation

Our family stayed at the Dunes this past Feburary. We were amazed with the views and choices of patio's to sit on to enjoy the day. To watch the sun rise over Horace Caldwell pier we went out off the dining room. Then we moved to the patio on the ocean, and then in the afternoon we could move to the patio off the pool. Wow what choices! We also loved the fact that we were on the 1st. floor. Not only for moving everything into the condo but for the ease of just walking out the door and down a few steps and we were at the pool. This is our 4th year at Port A and our 1st at The Dunes, and we have never felt so invited not only by the workers at the Dunes but the other renters at the Dunes. They are wonderful people. We really hope to be renting this unit next year! This condo had everything we could want or needed. I also could just pick up the binoculars and check on my husband to see if he was catching fish! With the location of this condo everyone was happy. You could easily walk to church or go to the store or grab a bite to eat. If you couldn't get around very easy, this is the condo to be at! With the views you really didn't need to leave. I don't think I could stay any other place! We Love it at the Dunes!

Winter Texan first timer

As a first timer, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Port Aransas. The first week was rather dismal weather, but the remainder of the time was awesome. The big ships, dolphins, and golf courses were very interesting. Our lodging was as described in the text and pictures. The carpet had some spots; however, that is difficult for the owner to keep up when he rents to so many different people. The Dunes Condos is very friendly and nicely located. The owner is a super person with whom to work. He is very accommodating. Port Aransas is a very entertaining location. The belt sander races were hilarious!!! We are hoping to return to this condo next year. We highly recommend PA for winter Texans.

Excellent Stay

Sean and Donna, thank for renting out your condo to us. The 3 bedrooms were beautiful and very comfortable, and having a t.v. in each room was a plus. The pool was heated, so that was nice since it was a little cold outside. The kitchen was fully stocked, and your dining table provided plenty of eating space for my family. The views were awesome and being on the first floor was a big hit for me since I hate elevators and didn't having to take luggage up and down stairs. Being within walking distance of the beach makes fishing from the shore very convenient, and luckily for me the fish were biting! We will be staying again in April of next year, Stay Blessed.

We loved your condo! We stayed there with 4 year old triplpets (turned 4 during our stay) and it could not have been more ideal! Making it back from the beach for a potty break is invaluable! And the views from all the rooms, incredible. Having the pool steps right from our door was great as well. We absolutely loved it and are kids are already asking to go back. May look into a longer rental next October........................Thank youo so much!!!

My husband and I met two other couples in Port A for an adult getaway weekend and we were extremely pleased with our choice of condos. This has to be one of the prime locations available in the Dunes complex, as it is on the beach, steps from the water, with great views from three different balconies. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had plenty of room for everyone. We spent much of our time visiting, reading or accessing the free internet in the spacious and comfortable living area, complete with beautiful views of the water and nearby pier. We hope to be able to return next year. Thank you for sharing with us!

Great family beach vacation

We really enjoyed our stay. The condo was roomy and our 4 and 1 year old children had a great time! Our family of four plus grandparents stayed and we enjoyed being so close to the beach. The fact that this one was on the first floor was also good for our young family (safer for the little kids). We will be back next year, we loved it so much!

Relaxing Time

Our stay at this Port Aransas Dunes condo was so relaxing. We were close to downtown restaurants and marina fun, the condo pool was just outside our door, and 2 balconies provided great view of the beach, fishing pier, and early morning sunrises. Lots of space for large groups to visit in an open living / dining area. Great time - we will be back.

Beyond Expectations

My family and I stayed here for a last hurrah beach trip before school starts. We were a group of seven (two grandparents, two 9 year old boys, three adults (one of whom is partially disabled)) with very diverse needs. This condo was above all of our expectations. The floor plan is huge so we didn't feel crowded in the least bit. My mother doesn't care much for the beach, so her being able to see us hang out on the beach from the balcony was perfect. The staff at the Dunes were wonderful and the owners answered my questions promptly and made us feel welcome from far away. We loved everything about this condo, except having to leave. And even though we were there during peak season, this part of the beach really didn't get too crowded. Whenever we return to Port A, we will absolutely try to stay here again.

This condo probably has the best-stocked kitchen for a condo/home we have ever stayed in. This stay was approximately our 12th in a VRBO condo/home. It is incredibly close to the beach and the beds are very comfortable. Nice balconies. Well-kept. Owners are very responsive to any and all needs. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for anyone coming to Port Aransas.

Military family reunited for 7 days in Port A.

My husband is in the Army and his time at home with us is invaluable! We decided to spend our R&R time in Port Aransas and this condo was GREAT for our family of 6. the condo was much larger than we expected. The open floor plan was nice, the views were great. Breakfast coffee looking at the pool to avoid the sunrise. Evening drinks on the beach balcony enjoying the breeze. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful place. When the kids got tired of the beach, we went to the pool. When they got tired of the pool, we went to the beach. The condo was nice and the owners even nicer! If we needed anything at all we knew we could call the owners and they would help us out.

Wonderful Family Getaway

Our family has been vacationing in Port Aransas for the past several years and have stayed at many different places on the island, but the Dunes is by far our favorite place to stay and this unit is one of the best. We have stayed in this condo before and it truly feels like home. It is clean, inviting and fully stocked. The unit is very roomy and the furnishings are so comfortable. The front balcony directly faces the surf so it is as if you are sitting on the beach. The location of the unit is convenient to the pool area and is especially nice during check-in/check-out and as you don't have to wait for the elevators during the rush hour. We highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a comfortable stay on the island.

My family and I enjoyed our vacation at this condo so much that we rented it again this year. It is still just as amazing. The condo is very clean, comfortable and the kitchen is fully stocked. My family and I loved this condo. You can't beat staying on the first floor with a hallway outside your condo to the pool. It was beautiful and spacious with a view out of every window and 3 balconies. So close to the beach. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Vacation after kids Sea World camp

My wife made arrangements and said the Owner was very nice. We had 6 in our family and were amazed and pleased at how spacious the condo was. I can't stress at how roomy this place was. The balcony views were amazing. We would eat breakfast on the balcony and watch passerbys in the morning. This place is the closest to the beach and pool. Nice pool, 7'-4" depth, and a covered patio next to it. The beach was the best - we didn't want to leave. Nice location for nearby resturants such as Beaches Bakery, La Playa, and Beaches Grill. We had a wonderful time and would stay at this same place again!

Our family had a fantastic time. It is a great location. I have been going to Port A since the 60's and this was the best location. If you didn't want to sit in the morning sun on the main balcony to drink your coffee, you could sit on the front balcony. Being on the first floor, I could pass my surfboard over the balcony to someone and walk right down to the pier to surf. The pool is just steps away and a community gas grill is on the same floor. We had a toddler with us, no problem, plenty of space. What more could you ask for? This will be my first choice when we do it again.

Condo #110 is excellent!

Our daughter got married on June 7th and we celebrated the whole weekend at the Dunes in room #110. It was an excellent, very clean condo that had everything we needed. Had I not packed anything but my clothes and beach towels, we would be in good hands because the room and the Dunes Condo facilities have it all. It is like home away from home but even better becuase the pool is nice and big and it is just a hop, skip and jump away to the beach. We will definitely stay here again. The owners of room #110 Sean and Donna are great! They are wonderful folks and very easy to work with. We will definitely stay here again some day and we highly recommend this condo to anyone wanting a great place to stay while on the island.

Perfect family getaway!

This condo is amazing! Spacious enough for our family of six and truly just a short walk to the beach and the pool. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen fully equipped. I forgot my corkscrew and there is one already there. The owners were very helpful with any questions we had and the management was great as well. We didn't have a single problem the whole week. It is clean, beautifully decorated, and in the perfect location! Ocean views are gorgeous. We loved watching the full moon rise over the pier from the balcony each evening. The pool is big, clean and has the perfect blend of shallow water for the children and deep end for the adults to really enjoy it. I loved the little touches like the shoe tray at the front door for keeping the sandy water shoes from making the floor gritty and the really nice bed linens and towels that you'd expect in a really nice hotel. Being on the first floor was fantastic. Easy access even with four tired little ones in tow after a day at the beach. Hint: if you close the air vents in the living room and leave door between the bathroom and the guest bedroom open, the bedrooms will be cooler. Between the big fans and redirecting the airflow we were very comfortable. As much as I hate to recommend this place (because I want it again for us next year :-) I must say this is the nicest place we've ever taken the family! Also, eat at Fins-they have Amazing burgers!

Loved, Loved, LOVED it!!

We have stayed at over 10 different condos in Port Aransas and we have now found the one we will come back to every time. It is well-maintained and very spacious. We loved the two decks overlooking the beach. It was close to the pier, so perfect for a little fishing or a nice walk. This condo is TRULY walking distance from the beach. When my potty training son needed to use the restroom, I was easily able to walk him back to the condo in enough time. Not to mention we didn't have to pack for our whole day when we went to the beach. We walked back to the condo for lunch or naps with ease. The other great feature is the condo's proximity to the pool. Literally, STEPS from the door of the condo and it is a great size pool with a hot tub and a sun deck above. I also loved that it is closer to town than most other condos. Much more convenient to restaurants and shopping. We will ALWAYS check availability here before we consider any other place in Port Aransas.

Best Balcony @ Beach

We loved our stay in your condo! It is the most spacious condo we have ever stayed at in our 35 plus years of going to Port A. The balcony overlooking the pier was our favorite. You could see all the action on the beach, water and pier! It is only a few steps from the pool which was great for the 2yr old grandson and the pool was never too crowded. One small recommendation: More chairs needed for the balconies! There were only two and we had 4 adults. I would encourage everyone to rent this condo. It had it all.

I've been going to Port A for over 50 years and I've stayed just about everywhere. The Dunes unit 110 has it all, roomy, nicely furnished, the best ocean view and next to the pool.

This was our 2nd stay at this condo, and we love it. Plenty of room with great views and easy access to beach. The condo is very clean and well-maintained. Our stay was wonderful! The proximity of the unit to the ocean was perfect! 3 balconies! The property was clean and very well maintained. The photos of the rental were very accurate. There was plenty of room for our family of five. The owner immediately helped us with an air conditioning issue and was very understanding. We had a great time on the beach, at the pool, and in town. It was neat to see all of the golf carts driving on the streets and the beach! This is a "Must Do" vacation spot - we will definitely return to the Dunes!

Couples Getaway

We stayed at this beautiful condo with two other couples. Wow what a great condo unit! Fantastic views from every room in the condo! Very tastefully decorated, comfortable furnishings throughout too. The listing description is very accurate. The photo's don't due the condo justice, much better in person. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for all meals, on the occasions when we ventured out for meals we found great places in town. The first floor corner location provided us with easy access to pool, beach, lobby, fitness area and parking. Sunset views from every deck! Quiet condo because of the corner location. Zero sound tranmission thorough the walls and ceilings due to masonry construcion. We found ourselves never wanting to leave the condo becuase of the location, comfort and amenities of the unit. The beach is beatuful, warm gulf breezes. Fishing or a walk down the huge pier high above the gulf is a must. Shopping and sightseeing in the area is a big plus. We'll be back! Everyone loved it! Our experience at the Dunes Condo was excellent. The size of the rooms and sleeping conditions met our needs perfectly. A real plus to this condo is the location. It is on the first floor and steps from the pool and ocean. We enjoyed most of our time at the pool. It was clean and well kept. Plent of deck chairs and also shaded area. The hot tub was an extra plus. You have a beautiful view off the spacious balconys of the ocean. In the moring we would walk the pier and enjoy watching the sun rise. We took a dolphin watching tour and the captain of our experience was fun and knew the great spots to see the dolphins. We rented the Dune buggs for the day and was able to drive the entire beach to see the beauty of the area. Rest. and Bars were great. Every place we ate at the staff was kind and enjoyable to meet. We had the best burger we ever ate at some small drive up place. So wish I could remember the name to share it with others.. Walking distance to great spots. Grocery store only blocks away. The condo was stocked with all the needs. Kitchen, sheets, towels ect. So for me and my family it was a wonderful vacation. I would return tomorrow.

We've stayed here 3 times and will definitely come back! Great location and great views. Being on the first floor is a big plus checking in and out, convenient parking, walk out to pool. Condo was very clean and beautifully decorated. We felt right at home. Kitchen is small but provided everything you'd possibly need. Location close to pier and great waterfront restaurants. We'd definitely recommend staying here!

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We loved the location, and it is as close to the beach as you can get and that was a priority for our group on this trip. The Dunes desk staff were very helpful and courteous. Pleasantly surprised to see neutral carpeting instead of the green in the pictures. Sofas in the living area have seen better days. Plenty of room as the unit is large, but kitchen was tiny. Having more than one person in there at a time was difficult -- we had 6 adults staying. Master bath is also tiny, and the tub didn't drain well -- not fun to have water up past your ankles when taking a shower! Because of heat from the sun coming into the west-facing master bedroom, it was never as cool as the rest of the unit. The people sleeping in the queen bedroom were freezing and looking for blankets because we had turned the A/C down to try to make it more comfortable in the master. Ironically, the blankets were in the master where they were definitely not necessary. Glad that there were portable fans. Secondary bathroom much bigger, but shower liner was mildewed at the bottom and needs to be replaced. The twin beds are not really in a bedroom, just a walled off portion of the entry so that was a bit disappointing as we were expecting three private bedrooms. The unit is on the first floor, and the balcony from the twin bed area is not very private (directly overlooks the pool and hot tub) but the balcony off the living/dining area was spacious. We had trouble with the doors from the living area and queen bedroom to the balcony which overlooks the beach, very difficult to open from the inside and outside. Wish we could have enjoyed that area more because it directly faced the gulf and had a fantastic view. The door knobs really need to be adjusted/replaced. An advantage to the first floor location is that you don't have to rely on the elevator to get your luggage and supplies in and out. We loved being able to easily walk to the beach, and the water was gorgeous blue-green color the weekend we were there! Also walked to several good restaurants a few blocks away...Beaches (excellent food and friendly service), Crazy Cajun, Venetian Hot Plate. Shells is another great restaurant, and we had some delicious burgers at the Port A Brewing Company. Our contact for the condo owner was very pleasant and easy to work with, but we would like to see some of our concerns addressed before we would make a return trip. Families would enjoy the proximity to the pool.

Owner response: We encourage our guests to contact us during their stay if they have any issues or concerns so they can be addressed right away. The kitchen in the unit is relatively small, and the layout is similar in all of the 3 bedroom units at The Dunes. However, there is a large dining area with a table and seating for six. The drain in the master bedroom has been cleared and the shower liner in the second bathroom has been replaced since this review was written. Due to our location right on the beach, the door knobs on the balconies do wear out quickly from the salt water, etc. We replace them at the beginning of each year. We welcome comments from our guests and encourage everyone who stays at our condo to contact us during their stay so we can address any issues immediately.

We had a great time at your place, we brought our three 20 something year old kids my husband, myself, my mother and my mother in law. The condo fit everyones needs, room for everyone to have their own space. We stayed in the guest room, (with a balcony I couldnt get my husband off of) he was out there every morning, with his coffee, and every evening to watch the waves and beautiful sunsets. The grandmas stayed in the 2 twin beds, and read their books on the balcony off their room. The master was perfect for the kids, the girls slept in the king size bed and my son slelpt on the extra twin (one of two) in the room. The kitchen was well equippted with everything we needed. The condo was very clean and well decorated. We walked to all the shops and resteraunts. The first floor location was perfect for the grandms, as they didnt have to walk very far to the pool or the beautiful beach, which was just a few feet from our door. Thanks for the great accommodations, looking forward to staying again.
